This was a cool video. I'm not transporting interstate. I'm just traveling from Southern California to the almond groves and hopefully the Apple orchards. But I think I should self manage with the same standard With CCD ,voroa mites .AFB .ect .Thank you .
I am in Ehrenberg, Arizona, and today we saw hundreds of beehives in the desert! They look like they had been abandoned! We also saw some across the river on the California side. Any idea what this is all about?
Hi there, these are probably holding yards- where beekeepers organize, sort and feed colonies ahead of their shipment and placement in almond orchards. If so, they will probably be picked up and moved soon.
Does anyone have contact with companies that work with almond production in California that are interested in hiring Beekeepers to manage beehives in pollination?
Hi Leonardo, we occasionally post positions like on the bulletin board at the beehealthcollective.com, bee companies will also advertise via indeed or other job sites. You may keep an eye out for "migratory beekeeping" which indicates that beekeeper may go to the almonds. I hope this helps!
Why doesn’t the person sitting in a room in Sacramento actually inspect the trucks at the inspection station? Seems like a waste of time to take pictures and send them off somewhere.

Thanks for the video... but it seems to be outdated (Jul 16, 2012). Just wondering if there may be an updated version of this information please?

Good question. We will contact CDFA and get the latest information.
Thank you for your inquiry.

Excellent video. Thank you.
What about beekeepers in the southern portion of the state, before going over the grapevine? Any kind of certificate needed?
If you are transporting into California, both northern and southern entries will require the same paperwork...
So for clarification no certificate needed if within the state, only when going into California.
The bees do need to be registered in the county you are in, so you may contact the County Ag Commissioner's office for more information. Thanks!
