  • This is our first episode of a new annual VLOG series we are dubbing VLOG-i-NATION - where Beekeepers from all over the nation come to California for Almond Pollination!
    In this video, Commercial Beekeeper and Queen Breeder, Jose Uribe, heads to Williams, California to meet up with Don and Brandon Bryant of Bryant Honey, Inc. They are a commercial honey producing outfit out of Worland, Wyoming who run 5,500 hives throughout 8 counties in Wyoming, 2 counties in South Dakota, as well as in Nebraska.
    Brandon will briefly discuss an array of components relating to almond pollination - from what happens to the hives prior to coming to California to what occurs upon arrival all the way until touch down into the orchard.
    Follow along for a fun time placing the honeybees into the almond orchards. If you are familiar with commercial beekeeping and California Almond Pollination, then this may be second nature to you. If you are not, and are curious what this process is like, then this is the video for you!
    We are trying out some different ideas for the channel. Let us know if you like the videos and we will bring ya’ll more!
    If you are new to our channel, welcome! We are a small family owned and operated commercial apiary located in Northern California. We've been commercial beekeeping for the past 12 years, but branched off and opened Uribe Honey Bees in January of 2019. We specialize in queen breeding, pollination services, hive management and brokering.
    Thank you for watching and supporting us! We love you guys!

Steps to take, use a broker or not (if so, good broker to use), contracts, what to watch out for, etc.....it seems like I remember reading somewhere that people will come pick up your hives and place them there, feed them, treat them, etc. and then return them....

    • @TheCaliforniaBeekeeper
      @TheCaliforniaBeekeeper  3 года назад +2

      It definitely matters for the growers. Usaully growers have field advisors that give them a map on how they should spread their bees out evenly. Almond pollination requires 2-2.5 colonies per acre. Will bees still pollinate if left in a holding yard(?) No doubt they do but, they still map our drops in order to produce the highest yields. @@TheCaliforniaBeekeeper with the skip button that’s less then a min of ads. In a info packed 40 min vid. Can’t get that ratio on cable. Your good man. Got to make it worth your time to make.
