New to tie dyeing and having a lot of fun with it so far. What I'm trying out with the muck is doing shibori folding on fabric yardage. The project I set yesterday has 4 triangle shibori folded pieces that will end up being 7.5" wide and 112" long, perfect for a shibori border to a larger quilt. When I peeked in on the melted process, it looks like it'll be mostly green (which I predicted based off my color choices for the stuff up top), although one of the pieces ended up with a bunch of red splashed on one of the sides facing up. I tried this method with just one shibori triangle folded piece a couple of weeks ago and ended up with this stunning teal and steel blue dye effect. So, something to consider that is muck friendly if you're someone who likes to dye cotton yardage pieces. P.S. - love how this one turned out and I've been trying to convince people since I was a teenager that purple and green naturally look awesome together.
I eventually want to dye some yardage for quilters. I LOVE dyeing everything in sight. Sounds like your project is coming along nicely. Please share it with me in the group. facebook.com/groups/1808680025961779/?ref=share_group_link Purple & Green is one of my top favorite color palettes. 😄♥️🌈
Mr Tie Dye is always preaching to pull the sinew away from the you. These way you don't hit yourself in the head mouth, or stomach. Lesson learned HARD.
Yeah, it hurts to punch myself. I don’t have enough strength & control to pull away from myself. I do suggest to do whatever works best for you. Have fun tie dyeing. 😁❤️🌈
I love this tie! For years I've been doing about the same sinew lines but without the scrunch. Unfortunately my nickname for it has been worm tracks! Just plain "sinew lines" sounds better! I'll take your inspiration and scrunch next time
I’m enjoying the groovy music. As you’re tying it up it’s like it’s taking on a life of it’s own and scrunching itself up. It looks really easy. I think I can do it. Beautiful! I love it.
This is proof. I'm MUCH older than you. This is nothing at all like old school tie dye. I LOVE this shirt. One of my favorite designs to make as well as to wear.
I agree. This shirt is fabulous. I’ve broken my sinew and punch myself on the face and busted my lip open. Be careful. I love wasabi dye. I forgot I have it. Thanks Steph. ✌🏻
Those colors are outstanding together, that Wasabi, love the splits! Where did you get Wasabi from? That fold seemed to take forever, but results, breathtaking. Love that what you intended worked out. So glad you figured out the twofer before I start! Great video, thanks!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Very cool. I really got a feel for the process of wrap & scrunch. I haven’t tried these techniques before and am soaking up all the “ muck” from you and Scott! 😂. I won’t try it till closer to summer as I’m in western NY and it’s still pretty cold, I’d prefer to do it outside. Thanks!

That turned out really cool Steph definitely a lot of color and I like that you put the rubber bands on it. I think that really paid off.❤️😁✌️
Beautiful as usual
Thank you very much! ♥️🌈

Sinew snaps drive me nuts 😂 the only times I get pin holes seem to be digging out the frayed sinew ugh. Cool video!

So pretty. Looks like an agate.
Do you use thickened dye for this? If so, what is your dye recipe?
No, this is an ice dye. ❤️🌈
Интересно, почему нитки не окрасились
