When I'm at my wits end on decision making I weigh the pros and cons. After praying about it, the decision comes easy. From watching your channel and learning so much , I know you'll figure what choice will be best for you and family as well as the farm. 🙂
This past year was abnormally tough due to the drought. I don’t want to over react and downsize too much. Also don’t want to get ahead of myself. I’m thinking I will try to find a balance of keeping roughly the same animal units, but expand my grazing acreage. That will give me more options a year from now.
It’s always tough deciding. I’d like to keep them all, but if we get any weird conditions like drought or flooding, a few extra animals compounds costs and problems. That neigh said, you are correct that the dexter influence is the furthest from out goals. So that would make daisey and dollop the first out.
If you want to go for more south poll genetics than replacing some of the cows like you suggested would be the way to go. The hereford angus heifer could give you some nice calves when crossbred with the south poll or is she to big for your breeding plans?
I’ll keep the angus cross heifer for now, if she is too big I may sell her later. I’m strongly considering keeping the whole set of south poll heifers. In a couple weeks I’m going to evaluate cows and calves and probably sell my bottom two Hereford cows.

I would keep all of them personally,but if not possible for you i would sell the dexter ones and keep all the hereford and Hereford x south poll ones
