That outfit looks great... I remember the originals n I didn't get them either... I wasn't plus size then(am now) but thought I was... lol... I have both these patterns n may have to give it a whirl... thank you for always inspiring us to be ourselves... have a wonderful holiday season...
Aww that is the best compliment! I hope you do also make it! That would be so much fun. I would love if you tag me so I can see it! I hope you have a good holiday too!
If you are ever inclined to torture yourself again by sewing velour, get a walking foot. Most of your difficulties will disappear. After wearing your suit I can just about guarantee you will be remembering the other colour options and going...hmmmm. A slightly damp pressing cloth can also help but test first on a scrap. Starch may be helpful too. I have not tried that on a napped fabric and would be very cautious, but it may work. You may not have enjoyed the sewing process as much as usual, but I bet you live wearing your outfit, which looks lovely on you
Thank you! Yes it is just so soft, its like a fluffy pink cloud. I have about 2 yards left actually, enough to make something else. I might do it now while I remember how to work with it, but I do need to invest in a walking foot.
i love this since my mom wants to feel hot as well! but it wasn't plus size friendly but thank you for making such a cute vid!!! i can finally give her the y2k tracksuit she wants so she can match with me
Omg you just brought back sooo many memories from highschool 😂 wasn't that big a trend to wear the whole tracksuit together at my school but the pants were so popular
We wore the whole suit for a couple years but it sort of made sense in the cold in Canada. Its funny though you say that, I think we ended up wearing the hoodie portion longer with jeans more than the pants.
Great job! It looks great On slippery velour I like sewing with my serger. Dritz wonder tape or Singer temporary basting tape (1/4" washaway double sided tape) is great for helping stitch the twill onto seams. As for the hips on the pants patter , I might need to checkout their size guide as I have significant hips to a smaller waist
I think you would actually be ok with a bigger ratio. I took off two inches on each leg and I didnt use the curved waistband which tapers in. My guess is you would be fine. Good tip with the washaway, I have never thought of using it for that before. The pattern recommended sewing by machine and doing that faux flat felling, plus I have never made it before, so I wanted it to be easy to unpick.
Oh! Thank you so much! That is a tough choice... Which ones are you thinking about? I would suggest the back for your buck ones like the grafton or the upton because they have so many options. Or the Roseclair because I am going to be doing some more variations on that
@@ashleymainmakes I'm not sure. I have the Upton, the Concord, and the Turner (plus a few others) so I could theoretically use those for most of the options. I need to go through the Club and book patterns (I don't have those yet) and see what's left over. Also, forgot to say I LOVE your Juicy Couture knock off! I bet you'll get a lot of use of those pieces as separates. The Stanton is on my short list.
Well if you bought the membership, you get the Stanton with it as a freebie because they did an expansion for it, so you already own it! I would say most of the patterns that dont have overlap are the more complex ones like the button downs, blazer, coats, etc which makes sense, so you might want to pick something you want to challenge yourself with. The Upton expansion has a lot if you already have the upton. The holyoke would be another good option, because they have an interchangable bodice with sleeves for it in the club that I really want to make. I am glad you like my suit! Yes, I think I will probably wear it more as seperates, like lounge pants or throwing the hoodie on for walks. I dont think you will seeing my going out in the whole oufit like back in the day 😝
I LOVE THAT YOU MADE YOUR OWN 😍😍😍😍 it’s beautiful
Thank you!!! I was so excited!
I love this! You totally took me back in time. I owned a few pairs and wore them all the time. You look really cute and comfy in it.
Thanks! It is just so comfy, I get why people wore them.

@@ashleymainmakes you say that but I'm Canadian too. Guess it just depended on the school haha
