      I suppose you could argue though that the other Cybers weren’t around their crying children when they were converted? Lumic converted the Cybermen in a containment factory thing away from anyone, and I’m pretty sure they converted or deleted children too so I guess any potential-cyberconverts wouldn’t hear that emotionally-charged sound of a baby/child crying to halt the conversion process because they were either removed from the situation or their kids were deleted. Sorry I know I’m taking this incredibly seriously... I was the unloved child etc, sob

      Conclusion Creig is the most powerful defense against Cybermen ever devised. Not only did he reverse the conversion process. He single handedly took out a ship based on his love for his son. I would love to see an episode where the Cybermen try to take over earth. The Cybermen are like you can not stop us. And the Dr is like I can't but he can. Then the Cybermen see Creig and just flee.

      its a terrible ending played by a terrible person (james corden being one of the most vindictive people you can work with behind the scenes) its exactly like an anime where all the characters put their fists together and beat the villain and save the day with "the power of friendship". its just a cop out for the good guys to win the day for some arbitrary reason instead of coming up with a proper resolution of conflict. its almost as stupid as victory of the daleks when the cyborg just disarms the bomb inside him just by remembering a lady he wasnt supposed to be in love with. explain to me how that is good writing in any way and not just looking for a bullshit resolution of conflict that is the most boring and cookie cutter thing ever

  • @Flipface4
    @Flipface4 Год назад +44

    One thing I only just noticed, is why this happened.
    It isn't that other parents converted did not love their kids enough.
    Craig is a reletively new father. When you become a parent, your brain chemistry actually changes to give parental instincts. Other parents have been at it for a while. Craig's brain is still changing. The sound of his child crying activated that part of his brain, allowing it to overpower the conversion process.

    • @DimT670
      @DimT670 9 месяцев назад +4

      literally every single thing you said is wrong
      Parents brain chemistry doesn't magically change when they have kids. If it did awful neglectful parents couldn't exist. But they do. Any "changes" are simply the results of brain development corresponding to activities, like all brain development
      Plus by your own logic this would mean long time parents would be the ones who have an advantage not new parents, nor would such a change take seconds, Plus why would literally any of this be relevant, you think the cybermen who have absolute control over ppls brains would be influenced by such a irrelevant thing. You might as well argue it was because he happened to be drunk and that changes brain chemistry
      Youre just trying to rationalise a stupid episode in the worst way possible

    • @ShadeSlayer1911
      @ShadeSlayer1911 9 месяцев назад

      @@DimT670 People's brain chemistry do change as they become parents. It's not magic. It's biology and evolution. That doesn't mean it works for everyone in the same way, and it doesn't stop anyone from being bad parents regardless. It's also not mind control. People still have a choice in how they behave, and some people choose poorly. What it does is help people bond to their children and have the overwhelming desire to protect them. It doesn't guarantee it, but it HELPS. It facilitates parenthood, it doesn't ensure it.
      You think that because it doesn't work 100% of the time that it doesn't exist? Stupid episode or not, that's just stupid reasoning. And I mean, it's a pretty well-studied field in medicine, so you can just freaking look it up.
      There's even the oxytocin that helps with the bonding process.

Raw. painstakingly pure hope. beyond all other things The Doctor is a symbol of hope, a shining star in a vast sea of darkness, not bogged down by the petty squabbles of our time The Doctor marches forward confidently because he knows that no matter what perils humanity faces we get through it, so why bother letting yourself get bogged down by the madness and turn to despair stand up and fight.

      The cybus cybermen actually have two methods of coversion. A full, irreversible conversion involving cutting out of brains and slotting into suit, and a dirty but quick conversion used to get more troops quickly if needed, where they slot the person into a functional cyber armor.

    • @sirdeadlock
      @sirdeadlock 5 лет назад +8

      Arguably, she is. You're waiting for the writers to give her something good.
      So far, as the first female doctor; she's been broke and homeless, made a mess of a shop and had people buy her clothes, can't keep track of where her ride is parked, hitchhiked, visited a racist town for lunch, stayed in a motel room with an older looking man, ran from spiders, got hurt while dumpster diving, lost her stuff again, and dealt with a space gremlin. Oh, and ever since she got probed by that tentacle monster she's been waving around and checking what looks like a pregnancy test.
      Her acting has been great though! I blame the writers.

    • @floreloriz4667
      @floreloriz4667 5 лет назад

    • @WannabeWriter100

      And we do know she has the acting chops. In Broadchurch she played a mother whose son was murdered and portrayed that grief *so* well. I'd love to see her bring some of that acting into the show but I guess the script hasn't given her an opportunity yet.
