Also, can't wait for the Akrapovic on the BMW. I'm sure it's gonna sound epic... although the blips of the throttle will be very different with an inline four between your legs.

My favourite observation so far!! For many reasons such as the variations in bikes between the Nuda and the BMW, I love how there was a little road rage as we never see that and just the videos in general! Good work!

that was great showing the time for you versus the car. There should be scoreboards showing average journey times of cars vs bikes vs other transport, might encourage a few people to give up their cars!

RJ Have you test ridden the 2014 Zero SR yet? It's a game changer. 0 to 60 in 3 seconds if you don't get wheel spin. Could you be the first to be using one in London? Only problem is it's quiet. :(
The "Main" problem is that they are quiet :) haven't ridden any electric bikes yet, would actually like to experience them even though I don't think I'll ever own one.

I've always wondered if that kind of road surface from 0:47 made of that red stuff is more slippery or grippier than normal asphalt? It looks slippery as hell from the video.
It's standard asphalt with a red dye.

About your traffic experiment: your average speed is 23,7 mph ; the Mercedes one is 4,6 mph. Shocking, but not surprising... My own observations (on my overcrowded daily way to work in Paris) are quite similar: 8-10 mph with car ; 22-25 mph with motorbike. Lane filtering in such a case is an evidence: it allows to save time, pollute less, avoid adding extra-traffic. We just need to be cautious about the incautious drivers. I can't imagine being stuck between cagers with my bike...
Going through France next month and I'm getting conflicting opinions on Filtering. Is it allowed in France?
RoyalJordanian It's not officially allowed, but totally tolerated. All motorbikes and mopeds are always filtering, even in front of policemen (they don't care at all). I have heard that, in rare occasions, it happened that a biker has been fined for that (while being also fined for something else), but I have never seen it myself... It's like a urban legend. But there are some implicit rules to observe: 1°) Try to filter always between the two fastest lanes (left ones) on highways ; 2°) Avoid to filter by crossing a continuity line or by going in bus or cycle lines (mopeds don't care but they often get fines for that) ; 3°) Don't drive faster than 30 mph while filtering and keep your blinkers turned on.

In any case, if the Police stop you for anything, know that they are used to be insulted, so if you are just nice and say "I am sorry, I made a mistake, I will pay attention for not doing it again", you are usually forgiven. Btw, please feel free to PM me if you plan to spend some free time in Paris: as a fellow biker, I would be glad to meet you for a drink in the Pantheon area.
