    Ratnadurg Fort and Shree Devi Bhagawati Temple is a fort located 2 km from Ratnagiri, This fort is an important fort in Ratnagiri district. This fort was built during the Bahamani period. In 1670 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj won the fort from the hands of Adil Shah of Bijapur. The fort is a main tourist attraction due to the Bhagawati Temple inside the fort.
    The Marine Museum was established in 1985 by the Marine Biological Research Station of Ratnagiri. The Marine museum has some rare and beautiful specimens like Sea turtles, Eels, Sea cucumbers, Lobsters, sea snakes and many more. This museum also possess well mounted precious and age-old skeleton of Whale. The original length of the whale being 55 feet long and 5000 Kg in weight is strongly appreciated by everyone who visits this station.
