Trains at Lincoln Central - 04/12/2021

Filmed on 04/12/2021. After a years absence due to the 'C' we arrive back at Lincolnshire's capital city of Lincoln and its main station of Lincoln Central (Season 8 Episode 45)
But, this day is very different compared to previous trips we made over the last few years as due to engineering works taking place; Grand Central, Hull Trains and LNER are diverting their traffic via Lincoln Central to rejoin the East Coast Mainline at Peterborough. Lumo Trains are running between Doncaster and Edinburgh only and LNER has reduced to 2 trains an hour between Doncaster and London.
East Midlands Railway are in dispute with the RMT Union which sadly of all the days meant that industrial action was in force for this day resulting in reduced service prior for the Christmas Market. Its mostly the managers and supervisors who are running the train services the best they can do. But, the rail replacement bus services between Doncaster and Lincoln Central has been cancelled.
Northern has done their best by increasing the frequency of their services to 2 trains per hour running between Sheffield and Lincoln Central with some services having additional compacity available. LNER with some services are also calling at Lincoln Central for the Christmas Market weekend.
For the first time in 6 years, we manage to see a steam tour at Lincoln Central. Operated by the Railway Touring Company 'The Lincoln Christmas Express' worked by LMS Black Five no. 44871 with West Coast Railways 47802.
