  • Hello Guys!
    0:01 Boiling
    1:52 Strong Alcohol
    2:39 Beating the strings
    This time i made somethinmg different as usually but i'm sure some of You can take a good lesson out of it and maybe learn something You didn't know before :)
    1 - Boiling is the best and cheapest method You can try to refresh Your old strings, but it takes some time to perform. However, it gives the best effect and can save you some money :)
    2 - Strong alcohol cleaning - The method is very fast and can help Your string recover a bit and sound better, but it won't give You "new strings" sound like Boiling
    3 - Slapping the shit out of strings - don't know how it works, but when You try this method You will hear a lot more high end and clearness comparing the sound before and after the operation.
    Just try these 3 tricks and write me what You think guys :)

    What’s cookin’ ? My Bass strings… Alcohol I do, a 90 percent. During the height of the virus I had a tuff time finding. I use it religiously- my holy water. I paint too, clean antique, vintage finds and bong.

    In Italy, after boiling the strings on salty water, we use that water to cook spaghetti. Have you ever heard about a bad Italian bass player? If you don't believe me, ask Federico Malaman.

      I've never heard of that! I always used my fresh string water to make a cup of tea for me and my friends. When they come next time i will try with spaghetti! :D
      I love Federico, he is such a beast player, wish i could play as good as him someday but probably never gonna happen because i can't quit my job and play bass all day :D (unfortunately)

    my wife: "oh you're cooking dinner for once, that's rare!"
    me: "uhhh... yeah, something like that..."
    also pro-tip: use a microfiber towel to clean the strings afterwards so that no little pieces of paper towel get stuck in the strings, because that stuff likes to fray and get stuck in the windings. the same thing goes for the alcohol, of course.

      @BasShiver  3 года назад +2

      That's very good Tip, i actually forgot many words while recording but it's a good point :) When You use normal paper towels it can leave a few paper pieces on Your string but in my research they fall off automatically after the strings are dry and You play for a little :)
