I'm currently studying environmental engineering right now in the Philippines and I have great interest in healing the environment but along the way I found myself lost and my motivation is slowly fading because engineering was hard and I get to stumble upon this video and it brings me back again to the reason why I wanna be an environmental engineer thank you💓
ive been really thinking about becoming an environmental engineer ever since last year i think because i have a strong passion for the environment and i excel at science and math and after watching this video it only encouraged my decision further because this is exactly what i want to do. thanks for the video!!!
I think i just found my hero!! xD She's so admirable. I want to go to school for environmental engineering too. This just sealed the deal for me! agh, so inspired.
I've done my bachelor's in chemical and process engineering & now I'm focusing on water treatment area for my postgraduate studies in environmental engineering. Really interesting video which implies the importance of improving the quality of the portable water. Thanks for sharing!
I am from Kathmandu University, Nepal, who is recently studying environmental engineering (1st year). Few days back, heard someone saying this engineering is of no use. Kind Of felt bad. But this video really boosted up my confidence. Thankyou!! Gonna shut everyone's mouth becoming an environmental engineer, who call it waste of time
cares for people, loves different cultures, wants to make a difference, likes traveling, enjoys a board sport and passionate about science/the environment...... I think im in love
I am working as an Environment Engineer. Completed my Masters in Environment Management and working in this department. Also I have a passion to teach students about Environment and Current Technology to resolve the problem related to Air,water and Soil.
hey i am a civil engineer!this is precisely my interest.Going to pursue masters in environmental engineering very soon!would love to go through related videos that can educate me about the prospects and also update me with the latest technologies involved.
I lucky that I am an Environment Engineer working for the prevention and betterment of nature. Many used to contaminate the Soil, water and air, ultimately these all comes back to us in any form. So we need to be very responsible towards the betterment of Environment.
How does the future in this field look? I'm very interested in environmental engineering, but I also don't want to be unemployed too long. I hope I don't sound selfish. D:
+Amanda Gonzales ....Then you probably don't want to major in this. If you're simply looking for a career that takes you outdoors, there are plenty of other options that aren't so math and science intensive as the engineering field.
Hello My name is Leesi Barinem and I love this video! I am pursuing an environmental engineering degree and my focus is water technology. I attained an Anthropology degree as an undergraduate and I would like to transition into a STEM career. Do you have advise, when it comes to job/internships that will provide funding opportunities for graduate programs? Thanks for sharing your story Ms. Losleben!
Are Environmental Engineers usually Chem E or something........my school offers a relatively obscure "Energy Engineering" degree. I'm thinking about taking it....switching over from Mechanical.
***** The "Energy Engineering" line seemed too specialized. Advisors told me clearly it was only available at the branch campus I'm attending now. There's not even a degree for it in the main Purdue campus. It's a subset of the Mech Engr department too and the curriculum to a certain point is the same. Then it diverges after the essential Calculus, Physics, and Thermodynamics stuff is complete. I figured it would be safer sticking to Mechanical. Though I may try for a second opinion and see what I can do.
i have btech in civil and mtech in enviromental and i unable to find jobs specific for enviromental engg here in india (no jobs in private) only very few in govt sector sometimes they consider btech students maybe their is alot of scope in developed countries who spend money in this feild devolping countries dont spend a lot in this regard
I love chemistry but not sure if I like leaving city everytime. I rather prefer being and working in a city... would I be wrong if I go for this career?
Depends, some environmental engineers do work in offices or hover around a small area. Research what environmental engineer jobs are available in your area to see if you'll be able to stick around where you like.
tilactl well thanks, where I live most of them are asociated to mining which means you have to drive above 5000 meters of the sea or working with sewage which is not so healthy I think since most of treatment plants smell reallly bad

Depends on your location. In the USA, many states require a 4 year degree in engineering discipline with minimal exceptions. You won’t qualify for the PE exam with a masters in engineering without those 4 years. Call your state engineer board with that question or talk to academic advisors!
Environmental Engineers check out Oil Spill Freeze Salvage now playing on You Tube under Oil Spill Solution. What do you think: Is salvage better than dispersants, sinking agents or making oil into a solid waste?
Then you manage other Engineers..? I'm sure by the time she is 50 she will be a head engineer of that company or some other and do part time field work. There are always other options.
+Alexis Gómez Salinas The average starting salary for Environmental Engineering is around $45,000-$55,000 a year.( $24.00 an hour) Like she said your work hours are about 40 per week. Those with 10+ years make an average of $82,000+ per year.

Priscilla Carrera well, did you do it? I'm studying my first semester soon.

Very inspiring video! As a high school student, i'm considering exploring this field in college.
It's been 10 whole years.
How'd it go?
I lucky that I am an Environment Engineer working for the prevention and betterment of nature. Many used to contaminate the Soil, water and air, ultimately these all comes back to us in any form. So we need to be very responsible towards the betterment of Environment.
I am very proud to be one!
I would love to do this. Struggling to choose my major from business/accounting. Definitely want to be an environmental engineer
Wait that's crazy! I'm deciding between business or environmental engineering right now. What did you choose?
@@sejal7397 me too!!!! what did you guys choose?
I wanted to become a environmental engineer in HS back in 89 before it was popular.
Great video! We watched it in science class.
She's so admirable.so inspired

Thank you for such a motivating and inclusive video. And thank you for featuring women in the field. It gives me hope :)
I'm going to GA tech with this major, I'm very excited
This is pretty much the only thing I want to major in but I've never cared for or been strong in math or science. :/
+Amanda Gonzales ....Then you probably don't want to major in this. If you're simply looking for a career that takes you outdoors, there are plenty of other options that aren't so math and science intensive as the engineering field.
@@hxhxhgfdAre there any decent paying outdor jobs that don’t rely heavily on stem?
this is fire
this is totally what I want to do .
Awesome video. You're so cool! Can't get much better than a job that gets you outside!
Well done, very inspirational video! I love my major
Yes. But if you haven't received that degree yet, I would major in Environmental Science so that your career path may be open to a variety of things.
I work in the NYSDEC in the water department!
Hey! Im going to Tech too, but Im torn between Environmental and Geology.
And I like 70s music too! But more of jazz than rock

Yes they do need to buy water because tap is not good to drink
