A couple times a year my wife and I end up at a massive truck stop diner in Alberta Lea, Minnesota (we're hikers and there's a great state park nearby). It's always interesting to spend a few hours there sipping beers and listening to the old truck drivers talk about how the industry is being tanked by waves of drivers brought in from Russia and the Caribbean. The image most people have of truckers is outdated. In the old days, you could make a decent living driving a big rig - enough to support your family. I love hearing these old guys talk about the good old days but it's really fucking sad because it's clear the hardworking Americans are being pushed out of the industry to make way for cheap foreigners with work visas. The USA is well on its way to just being another third world shithole.

French Canadians are Acadian , when the English empire kicked out the French from what is now Nova Scotia in 1750 , a lot of them went down to Louisiana and became what is now known as Cajun.
