    The cost of Audiate is a VERY significant issue. Might be justifiable if you make numerous recordings. But it's certainly not if you don't.

    • @Think1stMedia
      @Think1stMedia Год назад

      I respectfully disagree. Go see the alternatives out there. Although there are not many. The select few that are around charge more, and they have transcription limits. $30 month and unlimited is a steal. You can charge someone to do the captioning for your their video and in 1 sale make enough to pay for Audiate for the year.
      Also, the time audited saves you because it edits your video alongside the audio edits it makes. Try syncing it the old way and see how long that takes.

    • @ChristianApologeticsProject
      @ChristianApologeticsProject Год назад +1

      @@Think1stMedia You don't compare Audiate with the alternatives. You compare Audiate with other TechSmith products, like Camtasia, which works with Audiate. Audiate is not consistently priced. In fact, after having a back-and-forth email discussion with a TechSmith representative in lieu of your video (which was not mentioned), there is going to be a price adjustment because of the argument I have raised here. So, even they acknowledge the discrepancy. Look for that adjustment coming in a few months.

    • @Think1stMedia

      @Christian Apologetics Project what??? SMH you are just impossible to reason with. There is absolutely no logic in what you said. Comparing Audiate to similar products is Comparing Apples 🍎 to Apples 🍎. You are simply too stubborn to be reasonable. Woooooow.

      Camtasia recognizes hesitations and has the ability to completely remove them without you listening through for each one. If you coughed WHILE speaking, it may not think it was a hesitation, but you can always check out the free trial and see how it does for you with no commitment (we don't take your credit card numbers up front).

    I've used Camtasia for several years and have the maintenance agreement - that is great value and Camtasia is a great product, getting better with each release. I so want to use Audiate as I think it seems like an interesting way to edit recordings - what is it with the pricing, though? Camtasia is much better value for money. I so wanted to like this (and I do) but the price simply is not justifiable, annually or monthly.

      @Christian Apologetics Project wasn't trying to persuade. Could careless. Do what you wish. Find a cheaper option and see how that works out for you.
      I'm not worried about the stubborn people like you who don't see the prize in from if them. My comment was also for other people who will read this thread. There will be some like you who dismiss it as expensive and others who will see my point and jump on it and use Audiate to make money.
      Do what you wish. It isn't hurting me that you weren't persuaded because I wasn't trying to persuade you.

    • @ChristianApologeticsProject
      @ChristianApologeticsProject Год назад +2

      @@Think1stMedia Of course you were trying to persuade. Otherwise, there was no point to your response. In fact, you would not have responded at all unless you cared.
      The bottom line is by way of comparison Audiate is 4x more expensive than Camtasia, which is totally ridiculous, given that most of the creation of any video takes place within the Camtasia environment and that involves visual. Audiate only addresses one dimension; text. Therefore, those at TechSmith should seriously reconsider what it wishes to charge for Audiate. Do like it is done with Camtasia. One time purchase for $300, and then a yearly maintenance fee of around $50. That would be fair. Otherwise, I know I will not be interested in repurchasing them same app for 2/3s the expense every year, and I seriously doubt very many other people will either.

    • @Think1stMedia
      @Think1stMedia Год назад

      @Christian Apologetics Project NO I wasn't trying to persuade YOU. Let's make that clear. I gain nothing if you pay for it or you don't. Like I said if you can COMPREHEND what you read, my response was not just for you. Your mind was made up. I
      My comment was for the people with BUSINESS MINDS, not someone like you with a struggle mindset. If you make $500 off of something you paid $100 for, you could careless about the cost because not only did it pay for itself, it made you a profit. Reward comes to those who dare to do the work, while others sit back and worry about the price.

    How do you do an audio narration with video? I want to narrate a previous screen captured video but also capture my web cam, so I can have that little talking head video.

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  Год назад

      If you use Camtasia to record your narration (camera & microphone), then place it on your Camtasia timeline and select the clip. The Properties panel will appear and you click "Edit in Audiate." Then make all of your audio edits (don't worry about the video) and then select "Export to Camtasia" and finally "Edit Camtasia Timeline."

    Pricing comment: Audiate's pricing is all over the place - looking at the website today (27/06/23) - US $299.99, Ireland Euro 325.22 (=$355.50), UK £295.91 (=$377.22) discounted. It is expensive, unfortunately, but why so much more outside of the US?

    • @techsmith

    I own Camtasia22 that exports to Audiate. But Auditate will only import to Camtasia23, and Cam22 won't accept my Audiate file at all. Big waste of my time,

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  Год назад

      It will import to Camtasia 2022. Do you have Camtasia 2023 installed? Or maybe downloaded as a trial version? If you don't want it to go to 2023 (although 2023 is getting a MAJOR update on Tuesday that will make this integration way better) the developers are saying you may want to uninstall Camtasia 2023, then REinstall Camtasia 2022. That should reset Audiate and get you up and running.
      Again, highly recommend 2023, but if it's not for you, then this should solve it.

      @@techsmithThanks... I'm already a customer and use Camtasia & Snagit. If I start the trial and subsequently decide not to subscribe to Audiate, will this cause any problems with Camtasia given that they work together? Also, is it currently possible to create an A.I. version of my own voice that I can then use in combination with a script or is it possible, (using the type feature), to correct and replace words and phrases? The context for the later question is audiobook production and the never ending cycle of re-recording the tiniest of mistakes! Thanks for the reply guys, I really appreciate it!

Myself, I would prefer to keep a workflow as narrow as possible, so not having to jump around through various Apps would be a bonus. Having my own voice would be a real boon, so if the feature roadmap is open, please feel free to add that idea! I'm going to have a really good look at Audiate with the trial.
