I just have to say there are a lot of things I loved about this video: - the walk & talk format - the location (gorgeous) - the colors of the video (love the greens and blown out highlights. Very vibey) - the third person POV while you shoot Thanks for always making great content! This video was so calming and cozy to watch which is so important in this day and age. Not to mention it was very inspiring!
Thank you so much! It’s so great to hear what you liked and this is the direction we are moving in on the channel. I agree that with everything going on in the world it’s nice to just have something cosy to watch that takes your mind of it and makes you feel creative!
I don't normally watch gear reviews, but as far as gear reviews go this is in the top drawer, because instead of just talking about the lens, you went out and made some photographs with it. Good on you, young lady.
Very cool lens! With 10 elements it will never look like a Helios, but I'm more picky than most people as I'm a massive fan of the Biotar/Planar/Helios design and it's modifications. On a different note - I really like your style of "review". Lots of samples, on location shots, different places where you record, not just all done in a studio + b-roll in the background.
So glad you like my style of review, thank you! There are so many reviews that are more technical so I just lean into what I’m natural with which is the user experience and showing you lots of images. Thanks for watching!
I wasn’t expecting much at first since I haven't used these 3rd party lenses before, but this TTArtisan lens really surprised me. The sharpness is unreal, especially for portraits.
I stumbled across you when I was looking into the ttartisan 35 f1.8 and have been watching all of your videos ever since. Love your style and outlook on photography! keep up the amazing work!
This lens is really suitable for being a daily carry-around lens for my Sony A6000. Its lightweight of 205g makes it easy to handle during long shooting sessions. The autofocus speed is impressive, allowing me to capture fast moving objects with ease. The F1.8 aperture is a key feature that enables me to take beautiful portraits with a natural bokeh effect. The metal body not only looks good but also feels durable. The lens also has good performance in terms of sharpness, producing clear and detailed images. In addition, it can handle various lighting conditions well, making it a reliable choice for daily photography.
Really enjoyed this video! Lovely, the music, the green spaces around you, the flow was very nice. Dare I say it would be wonderful to see more landscape photography from you!
That is so wonderful to hear as we really enjoyed making this video! Haha I have a video coming up where I tried to shot more landscape stuff but I didn’t fully commit….stay tuned for that one. Thanks for watching x
Nice shots. I especially like the layered compositions. I shoot exactly the same type of pink flowers every late summer/autumn in the park across the street from my home. I just checked, and the lens is also available for other lens mounts, so I might have to consider it - though I like to use manual focus, so I think I'll just stick to using my Helios and other vintage lenses when I'm after that look.
This was a fun and informative video, thanks! I really want a fast portrait lens so have been eyeing one of these new 56mm's for Fuji, so appreciate getting to see some wonderful photos from this lens.
I like the look of the lens and I'm always excited for TTArtisan and 7Artisan lenses. Especially their Autofocus options when available. Do have to say though, I'm not seeing the swirly bokeh here. It might because there weren't a lot of photos with small highlights in the background. That said we'd be seeing a lot of cats eye bokeh around the edges of the frame. It was pretty tough to tell from all of the examples here but I wasn't seeing any of them. I will most likely be picking this one up to test on my own since it's ridiculously cheap and I love the APS-C crop factor on this focal length.
To be fair i don't see too much of the swirl here either. The 27mm tends to have it slightly i would say and the 56 not. I would still recommend this lens though. I have both and they are amazing
Very nice colors colors of a video! Have you tried to adapt helios with speedbooster? It helps to "remove" crop so you've got almost FF angle and "more" boceh from it. I've got some cheap chineese pixco M42-FX for 80$ and it was one of my best spendings ever: completely in love in pictures with it. PS: I've seen some AF modifications of helios, whole lens block rehoused to cheap AF body donor where motor moves helicoid, the one I saw helios rehoused into some cheap yongnuo ef 50mm.
It’s davinci resolve the effect is called “halation” but you have to dial it in a bit to get it to look like this. Also we used a glimmer glass filter as well which is a big part of the look.
The Laowa 33mm F0.95 has the same bokeh style like this lens and also the Helios. But its wayy more smoother, ask them to send you a review one and see if you like that, either way i think if you like this TTArtisan you would like both of them :)
Love these images! I am a fellow XE-1 lover myself. I’ve been only shooting jpegs for my ig stories. Just wondering what recipe do you use on the raw photos?
@@LucyLumen I was also wondering about your in camera film sim recipe for the XE-1. I know time of day and white balance and tint have a lot to do with it. It just wondering your go to?
Looks a good lens but I don’t have a camera to use it with. I have a Helios for film use and digital with an adapter. Love it. Like the retro colour of the video 👍📸
Great review! How do you control the aperture in the XE1?? I only have couple of lenses and both have aperture ring, so not sure how lenses without ring work 😅
There is a control wheel on the back of the XE1 that changes the aperture I actually think it can be easier than using the ones on the lens. People like controlling it on the lens cause it feels more analog but I usually try and keep to f8 most of the time just for this video I shot everything wide open for something different.
Nice video as always! I think you should make a follow up video with an actual Helios 44-2 lens adapted to Fuji and shoot them side by side. This TT Artisan 56 1.8 looks like it is going to have some competition from the new Viltrox 56 1.7 which is less expensive.
Hi, love your content and the color grading of this video! I also love the handheld shooting! May I know what camera you pair with the 7Artisans 24mm 1.4 for this video? With ibis on?

I recently got the TTArtisan 56mm, and it’s definitely worth the price. The metallic feel and sharpness are fantastic.
The most cinematic video on youtube, gorgeous colors.
Thank you! I mean I can’t take credit it’s my partner who films and edits. I am very lucky!

TT have sent me quite a few lenses and honestly they have all been really cool. This one is definitely my favourite though 🥰

Still waiting for that Helios bokeh? Lovely video but yeah no, not even close.

The Lux and Lucy show is jamming so hard in this vid!! Smashed it guys. Love ya. Made me want to buy the lens too 💕
Thank you Miss Ali! 💐💐💐
Love these type of Lucy Lumen videos. Definitely gonna get this lens for my Fujifilm Cameras.
Very cost-effective lens. Been happy with it since I picked it up a few days ago.
Wonderful! Great review love from South Africa 🇿🇦
This was a fun and informative video, thanks! I really want a fast portrait lens so have been eyeing one of these new 56mm's for Fuji, so appreciate getting to see some wonderful photos from this lens.
You are so welcome! Can’t believe how much the Fuji lens is compared to this one and love that it’s such an affordable option!

05:45 oof, I'm a sucker for pink flowers and that is a gorgeous shot!
Thanks for the cool video dear Lucy. How sharp is the lens wide open?
I’m not really the most sharpness obsessed photographer but to me I think it’s really good wide open. I shot most of the photos in this vid wide open.
Very nice colors colors of a video!

how beautiful and tender! I really like these soft glowing vibes 💫what program are you using for this glow video effect?
It’s davinci resolve the effect is called “halation” but you have to dial it in a bit to get it to look like this. Also we used a glimmer glass filter as well which is a big part of the look.
I wouldn’t have known the images were digital. Your film preset looks really great.
Thank you we developed it over some time and use it on everything now. A few other ones in the works but we want them to be perfect before releasing.
That’s great. I’ll look out for them.
Beautiful image you got on your video, very filmic , what lens is used during the video?
We used the 7Artisans 24mm 1.4 but with a Tiffin Glimmer Glass 1 for that glowy effect.

Interesting! Thank you I’ll look into it. 🙋🏻♀️👋🏻
Are all the video shots from the ttartisan 56mm? Looks great!
The video was filmed with a 7artisans 24mm 1.4

I have a Lightroom preset I use on everything I’m super happy with it. It’s on my website if you want to check it out thanks for watching.

Happy Friday to you too! Yes I’m back uploading and will be focusing more on this style of video where I get out and about shooting! X
Looks a good lens but I don’t have a camera to use it with. I have a Helios for film use and digital with an adapter. Love it. Like the retro colour of the video 👍📸
$270AU$...on ebay seems like an amazing deal...and love the results it produces on the XE1 (might have to get my XE1 out of the cabinet again :))
Yes it’s such a good price! Definitely get your XE1 out too they make a nice combo and it’s such a great camera to use! Thanks for watching
@@LucyLumen thanks Lucy...might just do that :) Have a wonderful weekend!
How would you compare it to the VILTROX 56mm? Great video.
I haven’t used it personally so can’t really say sorry.

Where did u buy the strap?
Hi, love your content and the color grading of this video! I also love the handheld shooting! May I know what camera you pair with the 7Artisans 24mm 1.4 for this video? With ibis on?
Hi it’s an XT4 and no we try not to use IBIS it makes the footage more jerky than if you just add some weight to the rig and stabilise in post.
