The people doing this review have obviously never quilted. I just started quilting and have a Singer HD and this is why I am searching. I need more space to do free motion quilting and the material doesn't fit in the small space.
I have owned my Brother PQ-1500S for eighteen years. Never fails, never breaks down, always performs at its best. I keep all my sewing machines maintained, I use them properly and, unless there is a physical component or an electronic component that fails the continue working. In 22 years I have owned eight Brother sewing machines - all of them are still working (the ones I now longer own are still making people happy😊 The Brother company's slogan is "Brother At Your Side" but when I recommend certain models of machines to friends (and I do not mean the on-line models - I mean the ones from Dealerships) I tell them "Think of Brother Before Before Any Other!" [the two other brands I recommend are Juki and Janome].
i have the brother next to the last one he showed and that is a very smooth sewing machine for quilting just love it and for me was a great investment. glad i ordered it.
I have been quilting for over 50 years. I have the PQ1500SL going on 5 years now. When it ever dies I will buy another. I love this machine. Reliable and sews even denim very strong.
I had the first brother sewing machine u showed and I don’t understand why people think that is number one sewing and quilting machine the throat of it is to small for a quilt and it’s to lite to do a big quilt so I don’t agree that it’s for quilting
Thanks for your reviews. I searched for "quilting sewing machines with large throats" and nothing really came up, maybe my search criteria was not well phrased. I know Babylock has a 12" throat and around $800, just from a Google search, but nothing more, no bells and whistles
The model Juki shown is an older model. I find it hard to believe two Singers could make this list but no Janomes or Babylocks. There are many great machines out there but service is more important than anything else.
Could you comment on which have the better service. I have a Walmart special Singer and would like to quilt. Looking at a better machine. You seem to have experience, I would appreciate any help you can give me.
No cheap machine surpasses the 9960 and the threader is a quick change out when it needs changing. The harp space is too small for quilting a quilt unless you have great muscle strength. I just bought a baby lock jazz 2 w a 12" harp space and sufficient height to make quilting doable on a home machine.

Nice review !
Janome 1600 pqc?
good clear explanation
Traduit en français serait cool. Dommage 😢
I find the Brother has no room for a rolled quilt underneath it.
