I’m so glad he’s playing this. I work at a farmer’s market, and one of my regular customers is the father of one of the developers. He’s been bragging about his son’s game for the better part of a year now, and it’s so sweet to see how proud he is! I bought the game the second it came out to support them both.
Also the poor son caught pneumonia like two weeks before release lol. Crunch time was NOT fun.

Things that convinced me to finally buy this game:
Ray playing this for 6 hours, seemed to enjoy it for the brief time I watched his stream.
The first thing Glasses told me in all caps during said brief visit to Ray's "BUY THE GAME TEDDY!"
And last but not least, Tina's chat review via tweets of her reactions to the characters and the thoughts she was having that weren't in the Bible.

oh dang. ray has been critical of the bloat of the farming sim genre in a way that is almost identical to my own opinions, so the fact that he is genuinely enjoying this one means ill have to actually take a look at it rather than just rolling my eyes at the news article titles that sound like all the rest
its a lot more charming and addicting than other recent games
It's also only $13.99. Every game in the genre seems to be $20+ so that was a huge factor trying out the early access. It's definitely very addictive Stardew vibes.
I love that Ray saves stamina items like he saves bullets in Resident Evil lmao

Turns out the people that are working on this game are also the ones that created the cat Pusheen years back which is super cool. First farming sim I've actually been interested in and its so good !!

I think the main reason this game might be sticking is the low stress, the pokemon-esque music and the hot/cute villagers
The map design gives me Link to the past vibes... And im all for it. That was one of the first games i ever played as a child.

Love the vod as always Ray ❤If you ever have the time I'd love to see you play Harvest Moon 64, I think even without the nostalgia factor its a good game. Or any of the older, good HM games, I'd love to see you experience the inspiration for Stardew.

I love that this game has elements/vibes of all my favourite "top down" games (Stardew, Animal Crossing new leaf, and a little bit of Pokemon Ruby and earlier, early LOZ games too)
I think I'm so old now that I just minmax the fun out of these types of games for myself.

I know there is a second part that I still need to watch but definitely would love to see more of this game in the future when 1.0 or a bigger update comes out. I loved the Stardew Valley playthroughs and this is very much enjoyable on the same level.
This game looks amazing, going to have to get it. Really hope Ray plays more!

Ah nice to see ray playing this game! I've been having a lot of fun with it - I've tried stardew and for some reason that game feels weirdly stressful and suffocating to me, but this game feels a lot more relaxed and comfy. Definitely worth checking out for those that are interested!!

You convinced me to follow it on steam to see when it comes off early access.
An obvious way to give a reason to upgrade the net would be something like
Copper = chance to get up to 2x bugs
Next upgrades = 3x bugs, 4x, 5x etc.
Basically at 5x it'd be a chance to get anywhere between 1 & 5
Also the Cows instantly made me think 'Ray Cow' & 'Chibi Cow'
i have this on my wishlist, looks good, will probably pick it up in a few weeks
One other QOL thing (not sure if ray mentions it I'm only like 40% thru the vod at this point) is that you can access the shops at ANY TIME. No more walking into a shop just as the person behind the counter is walking away like in Stardew!

Honestly kind of vibing with this game, recommended it to my friends too c: I wouldn't mind watching through it if you played more! I'm super into March even though I typically don't like the stand-offish boys but he just seems so cute so far (3hrs in atm) but I was honestly more into Olric but maybe he's Ace so maybe it'd be cute to add in a "best friend" bar for him!

I put off watching this because of the same reason I put off Stardew for years- the pixel art/simple style doesn't call to me but once more after giving it a watch I'm 100% sure I'll buy it and just like Stardew I'll probably put hundreds of hours into it lolll (For anyone wondering the game is like 14 bucks on steam)
