Live streaming from within the app is a huge plus for the Mini MX, assuming the tracking is solid. So is blue tooth mic source. My Osmo 3 embarrasses itself by omitting those two features since DJI is trusted for its software supremacy. In your test, the Osmo looked more steady.
That's the thing. As long as you don't have complex or quick movements that tracking will work most of the time, but it's far from the Osmos tracking capabilities. Moza still has some catching up to do, but they already released a bunch of updates and extended certain features.
Nice straight forward review. From where I was sitting the Osmo definitely looked better for the first half, and the Moza for the second. Not sure why. That said, with digital stabilization activated on your device, if that's an option, both should appear rock solid in actual use.

I am tempted to get the Moza simply becuase of the Inception Mode but you're the first review that I've seen that mentions the arm being in the way of the camera when playing with it. I own a Galaxy Note 9 so that may be of an issue. I'm still at two minds with the Moza or the DJI OM3. The app optimisation for both brands are not the best for Android, BUT the DJI supports Filmic pro. From your opinion, which one would you ultimately recommend?
Hey John glad you liked the video. Actually the Osmo 3 and the Mini MX both have an Inception Mode 😉. True the Note 9 could have some limitations through it's size. Regarding the Support for Filmic, the Osmo Mobile 3 never received proper support. Only the Osmo Mobile 2 was fully supported. If you plan on sticking with the Note 9, you probably will be better of with the Osmo

I filmed that part but decided not to put it into the video. In both gimbals it's part of the FPV setting. Btw. Sometimes it's worth to check amazon in different countries that are near to your country for example germany 😉

Hey first time Gimbal user here. Havent shot video before on a Smartphone properly- but done 7 years street portraits with DSLR/Mirrorless . Now in Asia- I'd like to create basic videos and learn editing. Tokyo second hand Gimbals everywhere but these two showed up on Marketplace. Which one do you recommend? I use a basic Samsung S9+ and I'd prefer not to buy a new phone although I can if need be. Any advice please? ( 2 years old video i know but still never too late!) PS Videos I'll create are street walking, stationary(People watching/walking by, cars going by etc) Not that fancy but lots of streets. Thanks

They seem alright but they have so many random problems. Ugh thing basically was unusable an hour after I took it out of the box. Emailed there support, no reply at all! My Gimbal mini Moza MX is stuck inaccesble from the phone and you can't turn it off or reset it. The battery isnt able to take out to reset it. So it's just sitting there with the light on and I'm waiting for the battery to drain and to die so it can turn off and finally reset which will probably take like 4 days.
It's quite alright. You can use it with a case, but most of the time they are so bulky that it loses the grip. This happens with pretty much every smartphone gimbal.
Hi Can you please try mounting a gopro and show us how it works. Would be really helpfull if you test that... I have seen many video where people are using gopro on DJI Osmo Mobile 3&4. Would be interested to know if that works with MX also....

You'll be able to shoot 60fps with both gimbals. The Moza still has some catching up to do till it reaches the software quality of the OSMO Mobile Devices. In terms of haptic and reliability I'm mainly working with the Osmo mobile 4 at the moment.

Thank you Christian, There's nothing like "the best". Most manufacturers are updating, improving and sometimes even add features over time, so it kinda depends on what you need at the moment. I think the Moza Mini MX and the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 are both super solid devices and both have pros and cons. In the end it comes down to what you want to achieve with them.

Hey Marcel, thank very much! Most Gimbal Apps don't support desqueeze for anamorphic lenses so you'll have to do it by hand in post. However you could use Moments App or Filmic pro to do this while recording.

The Moza does not necessarily have more features than the Osmo. In total the Osmo has more. The big question is what features will Moza or DJI introduce in the future. Gimbals are only as good as the software that comes with them.

I actually think most apps are at this point, cause it's probably easier to design an app for a more streamlined ecosystem. Android just has a massive amount of derivates and adjustments for various devices which can lead to issues

You basically can mount a GoPro to every Smartphone gimbal, but you'll always have to find a way to mount it. Balancing it could prove to be difficult

Thank you Alessio 🙏. The iPhone 11 Pro worked perfectly. If it's centered it won't hit the gimbal.

with such a big phone, you'll certainly hit the arm and have a limited movement range

Yes it still stabilises, you need to mount it to where the mini tripod normally goes.
I shoot RAW video on my findX3 film mode? It has a dedicated LUT mode. Which gimbl app does hat a RAW/LUT feauture?
I can highly recommend Filmic Pro to shoot Raw. Aside from that the iPhone can shoot ProRes to get a higher Bitrate.
What about shooting modes like tilt lock etc

Hey Jeremy, they certainly can be done, but you'll have to compensate for the lower angel with you own movement.

Moza Mini P was the best choice for me.It can handle up to 2 lbs so I can add lenses filters and even cages.

I have the Realme X2 pro which has 4k resolution with 60FPS, sadly in the Moza app, I can only use 4k at 30FPS
DJI has the same problem with the Osmo product line. Often it comes down to a poor android implementation that 4K60 isn't available in 3rd party apps.
