    14:55 This could actually be a Yugoslavian PMA-3 HE Blast anti-personnel mine. The PMA-3 is made of plastic and the surface may be covered with a layer of black rubber. The pressure plate is made of the entire top of the mine, so there are no fuses or pressure plates sticking out. It would be about the right size. What is worrying is that Yugoslavia produced this mine in considerable quantities. Combined with the strong resemblance to a PMA-3, this may actually be a mine.

      Im Video ist es schwer, die Größe zu schätzen. Die PMA-3 hat jedenfalls einen Durchmesser von gut 100 mm. Die Ähnlichkeit ist beträchtlich und welcher andere Gegenstand dieser Form sollte im Wald herumliegen? Hochwasser oder starke Regenfälle spülen immer wieder Minen in zuvor geräumte Bereiche.

    • @FreeMilesMC
      @FreeMilesMC  3 месяца назад +2

      @giostisskylas die Tage davor gavs starken Regenfall. Du scheinst dich auszukennen weist du wo man sowas melden kann. Meine Anlauf stelle wäre die deutsche Botschaft in Slowenien

    • @giostisskylas
      @giostisskylas 3 месяца назад +3

      Ganz normal bei der örtlichen Polizei. Die schicken dann die UXO Leute. Hast du die GPS Koordinaten? Gib sie einfach an die Polizei durch. Wenn es Leute gibt, die für den Euro Trail verantwortlich sind, gibst du denen die Koordinaten am besten auch durch. Falls die UXO feststellt, das es keine Mine Ist, wird miemand wegen deiner Meldung böse sein. Das ist ihr Geschäft. Bei Sprachprobleme, schreibst du den Text im Übersetzer des Smartphone und lässt es am Telefon vorlesen.

    I'm Sri Lankan and the war ended in 2009 here. The LTTE (terrorists) placed a shit ton of land mines that are still active to this day in Sri Lanka. And when I did some off roading tours in the Northen Part of Sri Lanka the Army STRICTLY told me to NOT to venture off road and away from the tracks, because they're not sure if the area is clear or not. and at one point I almost went into a minefield, I didn't see the signs. So I really feel the sense of danger when entering into a war torn country. It's so crazy

    Pro-tip: Move or remove your mirrors when going off-road. During a tip over, they are often the first thing to get damaged. Itchy Boots never did this and I've seen her replace at least 3 mirrors. She even had easily adjustable ones! P.S. Clean your faceshield!

    That river crossing was really scary to watch. At the end I could see the handlebars wiggle more, I thought the bike was really about to fall. If it fell there, lifting it back up on slippery surface in cold water would be a nightmare.

    You were near Cerknica, to be more exact you were at Slivnica and from there it is a nice view to the valley with the Cerkniško lake. To be honest there are no mines. So far you can still come across some in Bosnia I think. Be careful. By the way... I would never cross that river on y motorcycle.

      Even in mine-free parts of the country, mines can be displaced by flooding. In this case, mainly lighter anti-personnel mines are found in areas that were previously declared mine-free. There is no such thing as 100% security.

    My initial thought upon seeing that supposed landmine was "I wonder how I could safely detonate this" thought about hiding behind a tree and throwing a rock at it or something. I must be at least a little bit crazy.

    • @FreeMilesMC
      @FreeMilesMC  3 месяца назад +1

      Honestly the TET is in most parts very doable you could ride it if you wanted to with a hard tail chopper. It’s the very small in between bits that can get you when there is deep sand (witch can be handled with proper technique) and deep mud witch I avoid at all cost as deep mud can ruin a motorcycle and a motorcycle trip. As almost was the case in Iceland with the Yamaha xj 600

    That thing is far too large to be an anti-personel mine. It's about the size of an anti-tank mine, but looks too new. Also you are in Slovenia, it had 10 days of light shooting and no minefields.
    It is extremely unlikely that it was a land mine.

  • @SherKhan-b1kes

    It may be an idea to not have your lever/mirror/grip holders too tight on the handlebars. Should a motorcycle tip over then these parts should move preventing breakage but, be firm enough for riding.

    and btw for your further journeys: in croatia and bosnia the places where mines are assumed are marked with bright yellow tapes. also, it is extremely unlikely to find mines close to any roads that are used by people. its rather when you go hiking in forests. just a fyi!
