Ferdinand von Schill always nice to get a feedback from a fellow mechanic. Thanks for taking time to leave a review. Hope you’re doing good on your side. ...
Your best channel for showing the replacement of the clutch on the car. Thanks for the video. I wish you Well and success in your hard and effective field work.
Thank you very much for sharing. This time it is a huge gearbox. I see that he does not use the pneumatic elevator he had used in other videos. Good job always.
carles Girona that was definitely a massive gearbox. And it carried quite a bit of weight as well... the hydraulic ramp is a bit of a contentious subject at the minute ... I’ve got a bit of love and hate relationship with it ... thanks for coming back to channel and leaving us a great review. Hope you’re keeping well yourself.
sharky322 yes i always separate them first. Because of the weight and because of the manoeuvrability and sometimes there’s gearbox bolts hidden behind it.
ive commented a few times on your vids, and now i have to experience this for my self. my gearbox lost reverse so ive took my box of and really am not looking forward to getting it back on, its the same engine/box as this in a cupra. ive come here to watch how hard it was to get back into place, you make it looks easy tho haha
david kenyon really sorry to hear that pal... hope it’s not too bad .. I won’t take it for granted out here .. sincerely hope you feel better and be out of there soon mate
You have variable torque settings on the M18? Saves messing about with a torque wrench and make the job much quicker. Another fantastic video, Mate. You are an expert on clutches...... a clutchbert!!
Great work Kevin A lot of parts to remove but the Audi seemed a bit more straight forward than those two Citroen C4's ? Someone had made a right mess of that Alfa Mito !
Hi great video can i ask what was the red stuff u used on the box 26:46 and i am guessing that was some kinda which degreaser spray in the WD40 bottle?
Fantastic video the time and effort to capture the footage and then put it together is definitely no small task, let alone the job itself! if you're doing the Quattro version is there much variation? does the propshaft have to be disconnected/ is it much harder?
Irish Dog so far I’ll rate the Milwaukee as a leading brand in terms of durability and power. ... on parallel with that Dewalt has got some good stuff as well ... thanks for the great review by the way. Much appreciated
How do you get on with those battery powered impacts? I've heard they are getting a lot better now, I've always been and always will be an air tool user but wouldn't mind a small battery 3/8" impact for small quick jobs to save me firing up the compressor.
Need to do a clutch replacement myself.Be easy if I can remember which bolts go back where 😂 Great job by the way 👍😊 How long did this clutch replacement actually take mate ?
Any body think that the aluminium lower gaurd looks a bit crude? Fully functional i'm sure, but from Audi you'd expect something with a bit more flair, just a thought...
I really appreciate your peace of mind ! This car was an interresting work site. Please Can you introduce all details about your milwaukee impact wrentch ? Thanks a lot mate
@@WMCS So far good, always work, always in the front row, listen to the music, news, go for a walk with my Chiuaua, he always pees on my Laguna rim, and I don't say no, Charlie, he can calmly piss on the Laggi in 2 Months except the cemetery, Google translation
Marijan marijan 😂😆😂... he is marking his territory.. that Laguna is his 🐕... but great to hear from you tho. I have subscribed to your channel.. so when I come to Europe we can make a video ...
Great work! But... Wenn you open the 3 Nuts of the Balljoint and there are Elongated holes, its realy necessary screwing the Balljoint exactly back to the old Marks. Otherwise the Car needs an Alignment... ;)
Zu Xioa I’ve done a few Audi A3 Quattro. Audi TT Quattro and a VW Touran 4x4.. Next time I have one I’ll definitely post a video of it. Thanks for visiting the channel
Hi Kevin greetings from the Czech Republic. You do a good job. I want to ask of impact wrench you use? Milwauke CHIWF34-502C? I decide Milwaukee and Dewalt. Thank you very much
Ondrej Placek greetings to you mate. I’ve got both dewalt and Milwaukee impact wrench. I’d definitely say go for the Milwaukee Fuel over anything else if you need something with very strong torque and robust plus durability in my opinion.
I love the fact there is no music, never had it when I worked on cars, I like to hear the mechanical noises,,,,,,thankyou
Mark Newman thanks for the review... much appreciated....
Fair play mate, a fair bit of effort going into filming each stage. Learned a lot from this video! And thanks for the sub
TRYANB filming definitely adds at least a couple of hours on the repair ... thanks for the review and visiting the channel.
You are a very hard worker. You have my admiration.
Wayout West thanks for taking time to leave us a review and for visiting the channel
mine to. its hard work laying under cars for hours.
That relief when you get the gearbox back in place ,pause for a few seconds
Fair play indeed. Done the clutch on my Cupra R last weekend and that box is bloody heavy, you made it look extremely easy
those transverse engines are a royal pain in the ass to work on. Hats off. almost dismantled the entire front end and frame from looks of it
Great job Kevin, and so fast , best mobile mechanic ive seen yet.I want the exact clutch job dun to my car i have a 2007 audi tt coup.
Yet another superb video showing the work that goes on I enjoy each video you create!
V4 ************ thank you. As always you’re a great subscriber and all your reviews are most welcomed. Hope you’re keeping well your end.
That impact gun is your best friend Kevin. . Keep up the great work
That’s it. We go hand in hand me and that impact.
Respect man. It´s a pretty tough job to change the cluch on the ground.

imagine this size gearbox with transfer case attached to it, i was sore for a few days...
sharky322 did you actually took the both of them out together... that’s a heavy lump
@@WMCS yep, lol. You remove the transfer case first when doing 4x4s?
sharky322 yes i always separate them first. Because of the weight and because of the manoeuvrability and sometimes there’s gearbox bolts hidden behind it.
Man, I've seen some youtuber hobbyists spend weeks on Audi jobs :D Here's a true pro.
Them 6 speed boxes have got some weight in them! Taken me nearly an hour once to get the shaft in... safe to say I was knackered!
Chris Kelly you’re definitely right there.
They do carry a bit of weight.
Watching this Kev as I have to do the sons TT clutch - so thought I'd see how the best clutch lad I know of does one, for hints. The effort...
Hope it’s not the all wheel drive .. they’re a little bit more involved.
@@WMCS no - fwd. Thanks be to God.

Skills in the house. Learn from it. When u have 3 screws u always need to be sure u insert them by hands first. NO MACHINE! OLD SCHOOL!!
Thanks for making these videos saved me a few times
Well done Kevin , just laid in bed in hospital and wishing I'd got your energy 👍👍

It's the 'box on the chest manoeuvre which amazes me!
Great job Kevin-Albert!!!👍👍👍
Top job mate. Those boxes are heavy sods and there's not much space to get it in with the wishbone mount in your way.

Hi Kevin. Is a big problem clutch change on Octavia 2, 2006 year engine 1,9 tdi 4x4? Is this possible "on the street"? Thanks for your feedback.

If you do this job, also replace rear main seal of the engine if it has not been replaced.
i think the videos and effort that you put into them is brilliant come rain hale wind or sleet you just get on with it
Luv your vlogs bud. Brave man take on clutch on TT on the ramps.
From semi retired mechanic.👍
You are giving the courage.
Kevin what’s knuckle thing on impact driver!!! That’s spins lol best way to describe it
Shane Brookes it’s a wobble swivel... it’s referred to as impact universal joint as well ... great bit of tool that is.
Well worth subscribing. Will think twice before doing the clutch on mine!
great videos mate.Thank you tony Leics Uk.

Fantastic video the time and effort to capture the footage and then put it together is definitely no small task, let alone the job itself! if you're doing the Quattro version is there much variation? does the propshaft have to be disconnected/ is it much harder?
Not very hard. Except one bolt on the transfer box which can be a bit difficult to get to.
Kev did you point out ripped cv boot he could have had it replaced same time

for all mechanical/building use what would you recommend?

Would this be a similar process for a 2010tdi quattro TT manual 6 speed?
Very similar except the Quattro will have the transfer box and rear prop shaft as it’s a 4x4
@@WMCS thankyou for the reply.😀
I have the same spline impact sockets you have. Can't complain for the money and I haven't snapped any off yet....
Max Attack they are quite handy and robust ain’t they... hope you’re doing good mate
I can tell honestly, replacing BMW’s clutch sets are more easier than other brands.
What did you put over that clutch? Alcohol?
Awesome video, what would it cost to have this done to my 08 tt 2.0T?
Greetings from Australia. Hard graft mate. Those boxes must be heavy. Every respect. Must get a bit lonely too?

Happy new year 2022! Did you change the oil of gearbox? What type of oil did you use my friend?
Yes. It s MTF ideally 75W90
@@WMCS thanks again mate !!! You are probably perfect
Dmf looked a bit rocky, great job as usual and interesting bleeding method
Think that DMF was due replacement too! And no preloading of the clutch!!?
Another excellent job some box to handle that one nice work 👍

I would love that too please!:)
is this sheld who under the engine from the factory or someone made it??
Hi Why do you remove oil before removing the gear box?
First reason is I replace the oil.
Second so it doesn’t spill out of the driveshaft input
What oil does these gearboxes need may I ask?
great video, thanks for taking the time to video, is there much more work for the tts quattro
Yes, just did one on a driveway. The transfer box isn't fun
@24:30, was that water he used to clean the clutch or something special?
brake cleaner probably
What is the model of Milwuakee you're using?

I thought that model used the S.A.C. (Where you need the sac compression plate). I have a 308 Allure and had to use the self adjusting clutch tool.
As long as you tighten them bolts down evenly you’re good.
