    Decided to purchase these after watching your video! Wanted something for some light trails and something for snow in the winter and these seem to fit the bill! Thanks

    Indeed, I agree with Eric, the front pinches and I think that isn't helped by the egregious arch support that tilts the runner forwards, it would get uncomfortable fast.
    However, it does have handy slip on loop on the rear.

    Your reviews are so damn solid. Great video.
    What distance would you take these shoes up to? Would you be comfortable up to e.g. 50 miles in these for a single effort?
    & w.r.t. the traction, did you manage to test the grip on any rocky terrain (dry conditions of course)?

    • @raddadbodtv
      @raddadbodtv  4 месяца назад +1

      I appreciate that man!
      I didn’t get the shoe on any super technical terrain just some lighter trail but it’s definitely not prepped for the technical stuff. I feel like the shoe is a little too stiff for that and the higher drop would worry me there.
      I think I could take the shoe up to like a few hours max. I think up to like 90 min is great but after that I’d want something a little more comfy

    • @zekken8250
      @zekken8250 2 месяца назад +1

      Usually I do 40-90min in these but I have taken them on longer runs (2-3h) and I think they are fantastic. A solid combination of cushion and ground feel; they are comfy while I still feel nimble on the trail. I enjoy them as much on easy runs as I do on interval runs.
      I’ve logged 600+ km in them and exposed them to every possible surface and I have only ever slipped twice. I don’t feel any more comfortable in Hokas speedgoats than I do in these running over wet rocks or roots. The only surface I would avoid in these is road, but you wouldn’t take your trail Hokas on the road either so that’s not a loss really. I would NOT enjoy taking these for a treadmill run haha but we are all different I guess.
      I should mention that the shoes fit my foot exceptionally well. Every single time I put them on I can’t help but feel like they were made for me specifically. It’s almost creeps me out haha. So take that into account when reading my positive review of the shoes.

      @@zekken8250 yeah this right here is why I try to stay as objective as possible haha. I like the shoe but don’t LOVE it. I’m not sure what type of trail your run on but there’s no way these could handle some of the scrambles and technically terrain the mountains have where I’m at, even just moderate descending on the closer stuff for me it couldn’t handle.
      At the end of the day if they work for you they work though!

    • @zekken8250

      @raddadbodtv (please don't take the following as criticism, I think your review is great, and you are entitled to your own opinion! Here I am simple sharing mine) For me they have performed well on every terrain that I can think of and that includes downhills and uphills (wet/ dry rocks/roots/grass) so steep you have to use your hands to climb or descend!! I've run through mud tens of centimeters deep, and I've had to cross knee-deep water passages. I did a very technical HM trail race recently with 1k elevation, and they were great even during such conditions. I know that most reviewers, just like yourself, point out the outsole as a weak point, which makes me roll my eyes just a little... no outsole in the world guarantees no slippage. There will come a time when you slip, no matter the shoe! To me, the outsole performs just as well as vibrams megagrip.
      PS. I am quite acrobatic and light (60kg). I realize that these factors should be taken into account in an objective review (which mine isn't). Perhaps a heavier runner with less agility has greater appreciation for a deeper lug pattern such as the megagrip.

      @@zekken8250 I don’t take it as criticism at all. If it works for you it works for you!
      Obviously no outsole is perfect but I didn’t even mention vibram in comment, the speedgoats certainly have better traction than these but still aren’t really my go to for extra technical terrain or wet conditions. In that situation I actually go with the vj Maxx.
      What I will say is that im a runner whose background comes from obstacle course racing and most of my personal running community is actually ultra runners. Within that circle many have tried the Pegasus trail 5 and the conclusion on the outsole has been the same, it just doesn’t have enough bite to trust on anything other than mild trail.
      Your experience with the shoe is valid, however your experience is the exception in this instance

    I like peg 4 trail, but only wish drop would be less and somehow better colorways lol
    But imo solid opposition to have it always in your car and be set for sneaky runs on lunch break either that be trail or road
    Good review mate 👍

      I think I liked the 4 over the 5 but the grip of the 5 is definitely better to actually handle trails! Appreciate you my man!

      I think i notice the drop of the 5 less than the 4. Especially since the forefoot is not as thin underfoot.
