I approached Sarah when I first got my channel going to show her some of my artwork, she has been unbelievably supportive, and a really fun and inspiring person to know! We both used the same color palette, picked out by Sarah. A pearl diptych & triptych!

I’m an at home mama/ professional and experimental artist. I do commission and gallery work in my small mountain community, Sandpoint Idaho.
Basecoat:
* 1 or 2 parts floetrol
* 1 part artist loft flow white
* .25 part GAC 800
* .5 part white satin enamel (Behr or decoart)
* Water to thin (whipping cream consistency)
Puddle Paint mixture:
* 1 part paint (less with golden fluids)
* .5 part floetrol
* Squirt of liquatex pm
* Squirt of GAC 800
* Water to thin, similar consistency to base
Cloud over mix:
* 1oz floetrol
* 1oz latex satin house paint
* I teaspoon decoart satin enamel
* I teaspoon behr white satin enamel
* Water to thin - A bit thicker than your other paints

Gorgeous! I was really excited to see the process on this one. I absolutely love how this one turned out with those Azurite pearls...😍 The dried results are stunning! Wonderful! I'm a bloom/swipe guy but between you and Bonnie Keane I now want to try one of these. I don't know the lingo though and am hoping you or someone else might help me. So you have Basecoat, Puddle Paint and Cloud over mixes. Which one(s) are responsible for for the pearls and which give you no pearls? In your Cloud over mix you have both Decoart AND Behr listed. Is that an either/or or do you actually use both together? Appears our Michael's is out of the Decoart but Home Depot in the general area has the Behr. Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

Beautiful, Sara. Is there any way of "controlling" or managing the amount of cells. They seem to take over all the color at times. I've gotten fewer cells at times, but I don't know how it happened. Thanks so much for your art.
Hi Margaret, there are some ways to control it, although it’s pretty difficult to control prick. That’s kind of why I use the cloud over method is to control where the pearls come up and where I want to keep more color.
