I've been enjoying making things with placemats! Easy quick and efficient use of fabrics! This tutorial is showing how I make a laundry/storage bag/bucket out of just 3 placemats, some trim and cord! :) I hope you enjoy! :)
Free quilting class and sewing lessons! And as in a 'classroom' setting, my tutorials are approximately 1/2 hour+ long....So Join me in my home sewing room making all sorts of quilted goodies! Be aware ~ I like to chat and probably repeat myself over and over, (and stutter sometimes), and if this annoys you, then view elsewhere - but, if patient, you hopefully will learn a new method or technique!

Sister you lift my spirits. Your tutorials are all wonderful and I look forward to every one. That being said, I thoroughly enjoy it when you just visit. I don’t have to get notified, I look for you every day. Small projects or no projects don’t matter. Remember you are a light in a dark world. Looking forward to forever when we may get a chance to meet!
Thank you so much SuAnn! I appreciate that;) Keep smiling;)
Oh! And I would love to see a video with Jen again too! 🙂
She wants to be seen!! We will see about it:)
I made this and it made me so happy....thank you for sharing...as a old/new sewer...hadn't dusted off my machine for about 20 years until I needed to make masks...I am in love with my new bag, that was promptly taken by my 4 year old for all his stuff...lol...thank you again
Great job Kristen:) And thank you for making masks!! I've made over 200 so far!!!
You are so clever Jean. Love this bag, starting with a pre-made placemat is genius. I have no suggestions, I’ll let your amazing brain think of the next project. 😏
Thanks Mom Grandma:)
This year is so tough. Literal joy when I saw this video. Thank you!!!!!!!!
You are so welcome!
Love the idea of using ready made quilted placemats. Love that big bag,I can thing of many things to store in it . Or just use it as a tide bag or basket. Very nice, love that flower pattern fabric....🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️
Yes! Thank you!
Very nice bags
Maybe you should make mug rugs because you can make them any size. You can make them very easy but also it might pull some of your creative ideas out. Your antique lace and dollies you can make and you would just love them.
On my list:)
Thank you for acknowledging the fires on the West Coast. I live in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. If quarantining seemed bad try going outside where the smoke fills your lungs. Over 10% of Oregonian's have had to evacuate their homes and six towns have been completely destroyed. YOUR RAIN should be here on Monday in Southern Oregon and in Northern Oregon on Tuesday. Thankfully, my husband, our children, and I have not had to evacuate our home so YOU are our connection to the outside world. YOU help remind us that not everyone is going through these troubled times of fire when I think this stuff isn't all that important. YOU remind me that sewing IS important as it helps keep our spirits lifted and helps us find joy in life as we think of others through sewing. I've not been getting your notifications, but have needed to look for you from time to time then go back and view any of your videos that I have missed. Most of all, I do miss YOU when you are not on often.
Thinking of all of you. It is unimaginable what it must feel like to lose everything. Stay safe❤️
@Sew Many Things Is there a way we can communicate via fb? You see my name above so it's not a secret and you can find me there.
@@pattijacobs1 Even those who are still in their homes have a hard time breathing. Portland has the worst air quality in the WORLD right now and that's not even in the fire zone. Being outside is horrible, but people have to get their animals to safety. Laws have been relaxed to allow animals to cross state lines for refuge since the closest fairground facilities were over loaded. Grocery stores are staying open longer so people can park their rvs, tents, trailers, vehicles, etc in their parking lots and use their restrooms. Sometimes the thoughtfulness of others is overwhelming. I cry tears of despair and gratefulness. This has never before happened in Oregon in the last 119 years. If it had my grandmother and parents would have told me about it. Several fires are linked to arson which is even worse. Please, if you believe there is a God, pray for the West Coast and this nation. In the words of Queen Elizabeth II in reference to 1992, "I shall not look back on this year with undiluted happiness."
Oh I understand. I'm sorry I didn't state this properly. I am very sympathetic to your plight and that's what I meant to convey, that I'm thinking of everyone near or involved in the fires. I'm sorry if I offended you by what I said.
@@pattijacobs1 Oh, heck no!!! I'm not offended at all by one single thing you said. I'm so sorry you thought that was even a possiblity. It's hard enough to be under house arrest because of covid. It's just harder when one cannot even go outside on their own property and breathe easily. It's just another opportunity for others and myself to be thankful for what we do have and not bitter for what we don't. Joy is still there even though it may be harder to find. In the words of Winston Churchill, "Never, never, never give up!" We must keep looking for joy in our trials and frustrations. Sewing helps us make our own joy when we cannot find it elsewhere.
Thank you for all your lovely tutorials and all the time you spend on them stay safe you and all your family
Thank you! You too Deb:)
Love the bag ... so many different uses too. When I try this I might use the back of the placemat for the bottom of the bag ... as a contrast. Many thanks for your ‘chatty’ videos ... you & your family are like RUclips friends ❤️
Sounds great!
Jean, could you please make a little pouch pocket for a cell phone for use of the elderly population ....I am one of those elderly people who can never find my cell phone and that’s not good in case of an emergency. It would have to attach somehow on the body and could be worn all day. Keep your tutorials coming I have learned so much from all your knowledge and. DONT change anything about you and your tutorials....I LOVE ❤️ listening to you ❤️❤️ JOANNE from Massachusetts
You could make a long, narrow strap that is worn cross body to keep it with you.
Joanne Occhiuzzo ruclips.net/video/2K2pcL608AE/видео.html I have made 60 of these. Hope this helps
On my list Joanne!! ( And thank you Diane! :)
Diane Schreiner thank you Diane for the neck wallet tutorial at Shabby Fabrics...I am itching to try it!! Joanne
Jean I always loved it when you are chatty, it's like having a friend round for a cup of tea. My suggestions would be for a laptop or ipad case or pouch or even a phone one.
On my list Cordelia! I'll go and put the kettle on now;)
Jean, you are so talented and generous! I also love the idea of a totable cell phone case - maybe to be worn around the neck when in the house. Blessings!
Maria Mann ruclips.net/video/2K2pcL608AE/видео.html try these - I made 60 for my quilt guild bus trip. If you are not using name tags you could skip the vynal pocket.
Great idea!! And the link below is awesome!! Thanks Diane:)
Jean, I 💖 all of your videos...I’m waiting for the supplies to come in to make the small bags. I am an RN and now due to COVID-19, most of us wear scrub hats. I would love to learn how to make a “ponytail scrub hat.” You don’t have to sew anything for me to watch you EVER! Thank you 🙏 for being you!!
I hadn't heard of that so I looked it up....hmmmmmmmm.....I might need a pattern for that! But I will add it to my ever growing list:)
Adorable!!! You are so creative to figure this out. 🌺😊
Thank you! 😊
There are lots of tutorials on making project bags (for cross stitch projects?) but I've always found your tutorials the easiest to follow. I'd love it if you'd do a tutorial on making project bags. Also found your Block Parties so much easier to follow than anyone else's Block-of-the-Month (or week). Guess I just love your teaching style. So, a new Block Party would be great! Maybe using a jelly roll or layer cake?
Thank you so much Michelle! Yes, I am going to do the project bags:) Working on a block party idea also:)
What a lovely bag.....I think I could do this one also my grand daughters would like this.......Thanks Jean.
You’re welcome 😊
I made some quilted circles with wavy bowl like sides to separate my Teflon coated frying pans to prevent scratching the pans when stacked in my cabinet. I also made bowl holders so I can hold a hot bowl of soup while watching TV.
I HAVE made them!! But maybe I'll show it again:)
I am in south east WA state. We have no fires nearby that require our evacuation but our air quality is over 500 and so we are hunkered down in the house with AC and air purifiers going. We can see the houses across the street but nothing beyond that. It’s crazy. Great to have videos like yours to watch this weekend.
OH NO!! How absolutely terrible for you! Please stay safe...your LIFE is precious...and sacred to God...Things can be replaced.
Another fab make, thees bags are so use full.Thank you Jean, A needle case to store sewing needles might be a nice little make.Hugs.xx
Great idea!
Love your videos and tutorials. Thank you for sharing your ideas and patterns. Stay safe! ❤🐢
Thank you! You too Pauline:)
just love it very easy to mention and step by step Jean thank you
You are so welcome Melinda:)
Hey girly! Oh I do enjoy you Chatty Cathy. 🤟
Well then....you WILL enjoy me:) LOL!
That would make a great insulated market tote! Wonderful job Jean!
Thank you:)
here in Belgium they don't have such nice placemats.... and even if they had I could'nt get them anyway because we still staying home
Still I watch you babbeling on .... you're my soumate because what you feel, ik feel the same....
Yea...it's been tough! Hope you are feeling better! :) Take care Brigitte:)
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory I always feel better watching you
Maybe you could explore using unconventional materials in the sewing room. For instance, using a shiny silver car sunshade to insulate a lunch bag or casserole carrier. I've used Homasote soundboard insulation covered with cotton duck fabric as a lightweight removable ironing surface. There are so many cool things out there if we think outside the box! ❤️❤️❤️
That's a great idea!
Love the placemat bags.
Thank you Suzanne:)
Love these tutorials and I will be trying some of the bags with the lining for sure. Also I just love that quilt hanging behind you with the lady on it that is stunning! I am a knitter and this will make a great knitting bag, I like that it can sit on the ground or my chair and I can knit from it!
Thank you Carol!! I showed how I made that lady quilt several years ago in many 'tutorials'! :)
Hi Jean! Excellent video on making this bag. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Hey jean it's great your making small things I'm such a slow sewer it takes me so long to make a quilt and keep up with some projects that some things never get finished how about trying sewing machine covers or maybe a holder to carry a warm iron from a class or retreat when we get back to normality Love you jean keep on chatting your brilliant xxx
Thanks Danielle! Nothing wrong with being a 'slow sewer'!! Small projects are just the thing for you!:) And thanks for the ideas:)
I have been making smaller things, too, when I sew, not much these days I am unable to quilt big quilts, so smaller is easier.
me again.... it takes a lot of energy to keep giving in this way... i totally love the things you're teaching. the short cuts, the vinyl, the re-using or re-purposing, the different tools, the types of stabilizer. : )
Thanks again!
thanks for the bag instruction.some of the other suggestion of thanks to make sound great too. I hope one of them gets you inspired to make one or even two of them. LOL continue to be safe
I hope so too! Working on some;)
You could show a small appliqué project for a pillow or wall hanging. Love this bag project. Thanks for showing it!
Absolutely!!
a great use of place mats, how about sewing machine covers and project bags, thanks for all your efforts Jean.keep safe.
Great idea Chris! Added to my list:)
The fire didn’t reach us so we were so thankful. Now the smoky skies have been unbelievable. Last week we had one day where it was dark like night all day. The sky was black/red. It was so creepy and quiet. I have never seen anything like it in my life and I’m 68. It looked like the apocalypse. My kids called to make sure I was ok and their job sites were shut down because of the air quality. What a weird year.
Oh how horrible for you. So so scary!! 2020 has been a terrible year!! Stay safe!
You could do a stained glass quilt wall hanging. That would be cute.
Thanks for the suggestion. Would that be an Easy project?!?! Hmmmmmm!! LOL!
Thanks for sharing your ideas and how to's..such nice gift ideas.
Glad you like them Rhonda! Thank you:)
Great tutorial, thank you Jean , we don’t have Walmart in UK , so will have to quilt some fabrics . 😊
Have fun!
Always love seeing yout tutorials. Hope to try real soon. Thank you
You are so welcome Brenda;)
You are right about you tube. Notifications are showing up on my phone, but not on my email as previously. I don't always check my phone notifications regularly. I am now checking on regular basis. Sure do enjoy your visits and turorials.
Thanks for sharing Doras...I appreciate you watching;)
OK, another idea: I went back to try to see the spindle pin cushion somebody mentioned (I couldn’t find it) but a new idea popped into my head while I was watching you put the bottom on the bag! If you use four placemats instead of three, and don’t cut the ones for the bottom in half. When you overlap the seams you could overlap it by six or 8 inches (or whatever is half the size of the placemat) and have a row of pockets either on the outside of the bag or the inside of the bag,. OR, outside pockets on one half of the bag and inside pockets on the other half of the bag! Sew vertical rows of stitching to divide the pockets into whatever sizes you want. But otherwise, you would make the bag exactly the same; seam the bottom, box the corners, all exactly the same way. What do you think?
You should be doing the tutorials!! LOL! Great ideas! About the Spool Pin Cushion...not me...Hobby Lobby:)
I know how difficult things are for us all at the minute but perhaps you could make memory bears, I have seen them for sale made from clothing of people passed over...I have a sewing machine without a cover so I would like to know how to do that as well. I'm just glad to see when you have uploaded a video to be honest. Keep being your lovely friendly self. 💐
That's the plan ~ sewing machine cover...not the memory bears. I need to show quick easy projects and you need a pattern for the bears and it takes some work. Thanks so much Vivienne:)
for those that don't get the notification, which I don't either. What I do is to sign into youtube and scroll down on the left side and you will see all the videos you subscribe to with little dots letting you know that their your videos hope this works for you
Thanks Rosetta:)
Hey Jean!! Blessings to you and your family!! Thank you for the updates!! We have missed you!! As mentioned earlier, I too would like a machine pad with front pockets and as well maybe a matching cover!!?? Just throwing that out there!! Also I seen a really neat shopping bag recently that was folded inside somehow that you could expand to make I little larger for bigger trips?? Idk it was really a great idea though!! I tried making it but could never get the expanding part right... Lol!! (Ha,Beginners) 🙄!! Much love!! Tawanda.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Great ideas! Am putting them on my ever growing list:)
Love this!! Just a suggestion..you could use same coordinating red fabric you could 😉 make a sleeve for a piece of needle point plastic to cover unfinished seams for the bottom. Thank you so much for your tutorial 💕
Great idea!! Thank you Denise:)
Small project ideas that come to mind is fleece winter hats or perhaps memory bears.
Love your draw string bags. Thank you.
My friend Trish makes memory bears....you need a specific pattern and its is not an Easy project. But I will think about the hats:) Thanks for watching:)
Cute and a fast make thank you for another great tutorial
Thank you! 😊
Hi Jean, something I have thought about making (because I don't want a big project) is a sewing machine mat. You could even use placemats. Sew a flat quilted bottom that hangs over the front of your sewing machine table with pockets sewn along the front for quick access of some of our sewing notions, snips, etc.
There have been several suggestions for that....I'll add it to my list:)
Jean these are sew awesome!! I'm definately making one or two 😃 thanks!!
Wonderful Missi:)
You Re on a roll now Jean. Got your mojo back, great to see.🏴
Yes I am Margaret:)
Love the bag Jean!! I have some of those placemats. I turned three (two rectangular and one round) into a cover for my instant pot. Now I know what to do with the rest. For those of us who celebrate the holidays, I can see this type of a bag to hold a Christmas gift using holiday place mats, or a Halloween candy bowl with the top turned down. I was going to suggest perhaps a tutorial for a pincushion with an attached thread clippings bag. I guess it could be a tiny version of this tutorial with an attached pincushion of some type. Thank you for all you do and being so giving of yourself.
Awesome ideas) I did make a sweet little pincushion...I will show it soon:) I made a over the sofa arm pincushion thingy a while ago. ruclips.net/video/3pnt8lmJ4T0/видео.html
Love this I see Christmas presents in my future fast and easy thank you
You are so welcome!
Great tutorial
Thank you! Cheers Donna:)
Love it!!!!! Yes, I think I will try this!!
You should Pat! Fun:)
I’m sorta new to your channel and haven’t yet seen all your videos but....as a suggestion, how about some sort of walker bag or wheelchair bag gizmo. Another idea I’ve been thinking about is a fiddle lap quilt. I think that’s what they’re called. They’re for dementia patients. Also, and you’ve most likely seen this movie, but I can watch “As Good As It Gets” over and over. It’s so uplifting. Ok, I hope the feedback you get from your channel will help you, as you’ve certainly helped us, over and over, time and time again.
Thank you Mary Anne! With The following video after this one, I share some of those very same suggestions! I am going to be trying to make some of them:!
Love the bag
Thanks:)
Great project
Thanks Linda:)
I love these simple especially when half the work is done 🥰
Thank you 😊
Glad you like them!
Jean , . . I Am still in quarantine and found making bags. It's like I find something that makes me happy while I sew. I listen to Sew Sweetness. She has great bags. follow her. She been helping me stay home.
Wonderful! She has wonderful things:)
I’ve been meaning to make some mug rugs for me and my big coffee mugs. I’ve seen some really cute quilted ones. Seems like it would be a quick project without too much commitment 😁 I’m feeling the same way about big projects, it’s too hard to concentrate right now. We are in Northern California between the fires to the south and the ones in Oregon to the north. Since the bad fires here two years ago I feel like we hold our breath until fire season ends. It seems like they just finished the DRC work for the brothers and sisters that live where the fires were two years ago, now there will be much more work to do. Critical times hard to deal with for everyone, but looking forward to the paradise to come! Hope they fix the bridge and save you the trouble of raising the house. What a huge undertaking that would be. Love watching whatever you make Jean! Always enjoy spending time with you!
You poor loves!! How utterly terrifying for you! SUCH critical times ARE here! Thankfully we understand just why and how its' all going to end and be okay!! :) Can't wait to spend forever with my wonderful friends:)
I am receiving all your notifications and excited about your projects. It would make a nice gift bag as well.
Yay, thank you Diana:)
Brilliant tutorial!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hello, you can certainly get some very pretty Quilted Placemats at Walmart 😁💙 this makes a wonderful drawstring bag 😁 Erica x
So true Erica:) They are great:)
Love it. I need to do this. I’ve lost my “mo-jo” during this pandemic. Keep up the good work and stay safe. Looking forward to a perfect new system.
Won't it be wonderful!! When all of these horrible things are in the distant past 'never to be bought to mind' again:)
Just a couple suggestions on things to make... coin pouch, wallet, small handbag with a place for the cell phone and Packing Cubes.
So many people are using cloth packing cube to put their clothing in then put them in their dressers. It makes a nice, clean, neat and organized way to keep your clothes. Packing cubes are being use at home and for travel. The good packing cubes can get expensive especially if you plan to use them at home to store all your clothes. Can also use the cubes to store the clothes in the closet or under the bed.
The cheap packing cubes dont last long they tear easily.
So some pretty inexpensive well made packing cubes would be great...
Well hopefully that will help you out a little on things to make. Im new to your channel and I enjoys your video.
New subscriber...
Thank you so much for the ideas! You are correct ~ with people able to travel more, they would be a good idea:)
Can you show how to make different kinds of table runners. Would love to see them. with matching place mats. Love your videos.
Yes I can! Thank you:)
Love the bags, thank you for all you do for us, some ideas may be like small projects that can be used for Christmas gifts, most people like to make something and gifted for Christmas or a birthday, thank you again
You are so welcome Marta! As I explained before, As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I don't celebrate the traditional holidays, like Easter or Christmas, etc., but we DO love to celebrate Seasons!! And weddings, babies, graduations, showers etc.! So I will won't be doing anything Christmas related although I DO plan on making fall themed items! :)
Maybe some Christmas gift ideas would be nice.
Also, I am getting notifications about your videos with no problems.
Glad you are finding me Gena:)
Thank you for this great idea! Greetings from Germany 😸🐾🐾
Thank you! 😊 Siglinde:)
Great bag!
Thanks Loraine:)
Hello Jean, I enjoy your videos. I would love to see your take on a cross body bag using the place mats keeping in line with the place mat theme. Loving all the place mat ideas so far and you are so creative. Thank you and take your time. We appreciate all that you do for us!!
Noted Angela:) Thank YOU:)
Jean I love you, your beautiful family and your videos..
Can you make some fabric ornaments for Christmas? I have 5 sisters and 3 brothers.. I started a Christmas ornament exchange with them several years ago and I as the quilter am always looking for a ornament made from fabrics..
Can't wait to see what you may come up with..
Stay safe and God bless my friend.. 😉
Thank you so much Charlene! You might have missed the video where I explain that as one of Jehovah's Witnesses I (or Jen and our families) do not celebrate the traditional holidays, such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc. We do however celebrate lots of other things ~ people assume we don't ~ but we certainly enjoy weddings, anniversaries, babies, showers, parties, picnics, graduations, etc.! So I won't be doing any tutorials such as you have asked, but I am concentrating my next several videos on small easy gifts for the gift giving season coming up for y'all!! :)
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory I just watched your video that explains that. I totally understand and respect your beliefs. I SO look forward to seeing what you have coming up for gift giving.
As always, thank you Jean.. may you and your family be blessed and stay safe !! 😊
Love seeing you back jean, ihave been trying to make a caddy type back to keep bits at the side of settee like tissues, etc, my mum wants one for chritmas lol, also remote control holder we have 6 of thr darn things
Maria Chapman, Oh yes! And a similar thing for the side of the bed, to hold tissues, a magazine, tablet, eyeglasses 🤓 etc. Great idea!
I made one of them!!! Oh about 2 -3 years ago. If you look up: ruclips.net/video/Nw20zNCHU5o/видео.html and then part two....ruclips.net/video/3pnt8lmJ4T0/видео.html you will see how I made it:)
This turned out really pretty. When you were showing how you box the bottom, I suddenly thought wow that looks just like a grocery bag! So wouldn’t this make a VERY strong grocery bag if we put strapping handles on it? In fact, one way to get some really inexpensive handle strapping is to buy those cheap plastic coated bags they sell at the grocery store, like Wegmans, for $1, and you could take the strapping off and reuse it on your pretty bag. Looks like it would hold a lot of weight! Then you could also use the plastic coated part of the bag to line other stuff.
I also would like using the drawstring version for my knitting projects, especially with being able to roll down the top of the bag! Thanks for sharing!
Good ideas all of them:) Thanks Susan!:)
Hello Jean, So good to see you again! I quite enjoyed your drawstring bucket/laundry bag tutorial and of course listening to your chit chat. Always love to hear from you. I'll have you know I am working on the 5 diamond quilt that you recently did the tutorial on. I am really enjoying making this quilt top.
In response to projects, I have the following recommendations: Garment bag, an apron, perhaps an old fashion apron where they were like a garment on the upper body and closed with snaps down the front. I recall my grandmother wearing them. But any apron would work. How about a sewing machine cover? Perhaps a holiday runner for the table. How about Holiday gift bags? Holiday Placemats? Potholders? Perhaps a Wall Hanging Organizer ... to put stuff in - maybe rotary cutters, scissors, quilt rulers and such. Maybe do a video tutorial for beginners on what would be needed to begin sewing. You also did a heart wall hanging recently. what about a colorful holiday tree wall hanging or pumpkin patch wall hanging. Those are the ideas that come to mind. If they help you great, and if they don't, no problem either. To you and family, be well!
Thank you for all that Donna! I've just put up a video on many of these suggestions! I'm so pleased you like the 5 diamond quilt! I'd love to see a photo when you are done:)
I can sew relate to a sewing block. I live in New Jersey and we are in the same "boat" as you all are. My brain just is in shut down mode.
Love your tutorials. Hi Maxwell.
Talk about shutting down....:/ But hopefully these good ideas will get me going again:)
Love it! 💛
Thank you Tina:)
I think I will try one of these...BUT...use the reverse side for the bottom. That would give it some added personality and style!
Best Idea Ever:)
Baby quilts, laptop computer bags, simple table runners, chair covers.
Great ideas on my list:) THanks Leisa:)
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory You are quite welcome😁
So nice to see you back on form and keeping in touch with us all. I too am at a bit of a sewing block, although my daughter has just joined a new dance school and I may have been commissioned to make their character skirts as part of their uniform. It sounds like you have the same taste in movies as me and my mother-in-law recommended ‘The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society’. Might be worth a watch if you haven’t already seen it. I believe it’s on Amazon Prime which I don’t have so I’ll have to see if it’s on another platform. Thank you for a great tutorial- your placemats in the USA are a lot bigger than the ones here in the UK. You have much better resources over there. Take care and stay safe. Xx
Great movie!! Just watched it!! And yes it is on Amazon Prime!!
I love it
Thank you:)
Thank you for another great tutorial!! I hope to make a few for gifts!! Great idea!!
So happy you are sharing! 💕
Please do!
So cute. I may run down to Walmart tomorrow to pick up some placemats.
Our local Walmart has a nice selection:)
Hello Jean, how about a casserole caddy, or an iron caddy that you can use as a travel ironing mat. I understand where you are at ... I’m there myself! I’ll hold you up in prayer. Hugs to you.💕 perhaps a bowl cozy, or a lap quilt block party. Just throwing suggestions out to you.
Yup! All on my list:) Thanks Nancy:)
I’d love a tutorial on making a padded tote for my laptop computer. I’m working from home now mostly, but once a week or so I have to take it into the office. I wonder if the placemats might work? I love this drawstring bag!
Thanks Kathleen! Most probably the placemats would work, however I feel it should be a bit MORE padded than just the placemat. But I'll add it to my ever growing list!! :) Watch this space:)
Tell Jen I said hi!
Will do:)
i am thinking of small projects and i am coming up with mainly baby things. cot bumpers. a baby pat mat might be nice with different patches with squeakers in or crinkly paper etc. pencil cases for all the children going back to school. a cosmetic brush roll. is that enough for now lol. big hugs from across the pond and good luck with all your projects
Sounds great!

It is SO restricted here! Masks mandatory EVERYWHERE and shops going out of business left, right and center. Restaurants also...such a shame:/
Hi Jean! I'd love to see a tutorial on a "walker" or "rollator" bag. My mother uses a walker and her purse always falls off. So a bag to hang on the back bar, I think, would be a fun and simple project. Thank you and love your videos!
Great idea Buffy! On my list!!!
Love that bag sweet! Can’t wait to make one or as many as I can lol 😂 I am like you I can get carried away on making things too 😃😂 your pretty girl quilt looks beautiful hanging behind you . Oh say hello to Jen and all. I got my stitches out yesterday hopefully will start seeing and feeling improvement. 🙏🌻
Oh I hope you are on the mend!! :/ I will say Hello to our Jen!! Take care:)
I too am having a problem getting myself to sew. I have lost my sewing mojo. How about doing a Thanksgiving table runner? Or a Christmas tree skirt? Love your tutorials and your chatting.
Thanks Lynn:)
Well Jean...I wish you could help me make cute dresses/outfits for my year old grand daughter. I know you're into quilts and bags and other crafty things and I am too. I'm just wanting to get into other types of sewing and know you use to make clothing for your children. I so love watching your videos.
Thanks Jackie, however, because you need patterns and things like that, I'm not so inclined to make clothing at this stage. Sorry!!!!
Hi Jean from Florida. I would like to see a tutorial on a cover for a sewing machine with pockets? Whatcha think? I have one that came in the box so you can imagine the quality. This placemats idea for the cover might work. I am teaching myself how to sew. Thank you for your kindest consideration.

LOL!! I had to laugh....THAT quilt was NOT an easy project!! You can see just how long it took me if you look back on my previous videos of about 2 years ago when I made her!! :)
For your next tutorial add some adjustable straps and a flap for the top an you’ll have some nice backpacks. The bag was beautiful.
Thanks for the tips!
Thank you it is lovely.
