If you guys had a bigger budget I definitely could see this having been in theaters. It does remind me a lot of As Above So Below and I truly loved that film.

This is actually pretty solid for what it is. Very suspenseful and eerie. I'm not a huge fan of the man in black, and the film kinda ventured into cliche land towards the end, but I understand that it had to come to a conclusion somehow. Really amazing job shooting a daytime version and night time version which adds another layer of discomfort for the viewer (taking away the familiar). I enjoyed it.

Good going FFF. I'm glad i stumbled upon this watching trailers, LOL.
The film ended right when it was about to get good which was kind of a downer but its ok, considering not many good story-based, non-cliches horror genre movies are out there. Looking forward for more such movies.

This was good! I like independent FFF more than the ones you see from motion picture companies because they get to the point faster. I've seen some FFF that you get SO bored waiting for the actual plot to unfold, you lose interest. This one just went right to the point! Also, to the 3 actors...you were very believable and I never thought I was watching a scripted film!! I'm going to find more from you all! (BTW, I liked that Ali wasn't going to leave and she ran right to any action!)

very nice; you were able to achieve something in 45 minutes that most other films fail to do at a longer length; the actress was very pretty; but that being said, and like others have mentioned, something longer than an hour would be very interesting...will have to be on the lookout for the rest of your features

    • @fourpointfilmsau
      @fourpointfilmsau  8 лет назад +1

When developing this project we discussed the idea of a standard feature length film but felt this wasn't the story for it. We didn't want to have to much down time and bland content within the film so that it drags just to achieve that run time. To say that we achieved something most other films don't within 45 minutes makes us feel like we achieved our goal of creating an enjoyable horror film, so thank you! :)

This film vaguely reminds me of "Troll Hunter", one recently made favorite of mine. I love horror movies & usually prefer vintage horror movies, but to me, this was one of the better recently made ones. It's a slow burn, but, for a small budget, it made good use of what it had available, from location, to acting, to equipment, etc. Thanks for the fun flick : ) Consider me subbed! THIS MOVIE UTTERLY AWFUL AND THE PEOPLE IN THIS COMMENT SECTION CLEARLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT GOOD FILM! The pacing and story development is just pitiful. For 35 min absolutely nothing happens and then when something finally does happen, it's so lame and not scary at all. Everything is just a typical found footage "tropey" jump scares.
Everything about this film is cliche. A bunch of kids sneak in somewhere that they're not supposed to be after dark... Cliche. They read about a unsolved murder... Cliche. They decide to film/investigate a sketchy place... Cliche. They hang around after weird shit starts happening... Cliche. Instead of leaving and getting help when they have a chance, they go back... Cliche You never see how anyone dies and they die very fast and without any blood... Cliche Jump scares... Cliche. They keep filming when in reality no one would really still have a camera on... Cliche The characters get picked off one by one... Cliche.
There's nothing good/special/interesting/unique/or vaguely artistic about this movie. The pacing, character and story development, sound, cinematography, framing all suck. Yet people in the comments still praise this film which is exactly why so many bad movies are made and get popular. Average people are fucking uncultured non-artistic morons. Most people today are mindless brainwashed zombies who wouldn't know good film if you hit them in the face with it. Some jackass in the comments actually said this 45 min crapfest was better than Grave Encounters! Grave Encounters was no oscar winner, but it was way better than this adolescent disaster.
The Museum Project is so boring/lame/cliche/tropey and it's why found footage films get a bad rep. Everybody just does the same shit over and over in FF films. If you're going to make a FF film, for god's sake do something new. Think about what's already been done and the downfalls of FF and come up with something unique. JUMP SCARES AND QUICK PANS WITH FIGURES IN THE DARK HAVE BEEN DONE TO DEATH. COME UP WITH SOMETHING ORIGINAL!
Also why do women always ruin everything!!!
"Hey lets sneak back in here after dark" Typical dumb modern woman.
"What could happen!" Typical dumb modern woman.
"I'm not leaving, we have to find Ned!" Typical dumb modern woman
All male characters get killed first becasue of.... A typical dumb modern woman.
Moral of the story, modern women make terrible decisions. Let them fend for themselves with the ghosts/demons/monsters/etc. They can tell the supernatural all about feminism and the patriarchy lol
Save yourself 45 min of your life and skip this junior high caliber film.

    22:54 the creepiest part ever
Joking aside, first off, , what a cool scenario you guys have found to record the film. An old museum with great relics. What an exciting, unusual and beautiful place. That’s a good start to see what’s next
The story per se is another matter that that deserves applause 👏 . Very well designed, directed, cinematographically unblemished. A must-see. Jumpscaring was my only concerning. I was expecting more ... the script, the intense, the ambience was so well-built and written that at some point let us to believe in good and long jumpscares all the way up... oh well, it worth anyways

Its a great movie , I just loved it
Not every found footage horror movie is able to pull it off but you guys did great .
It had every ingredient for a found footage horror :
    1. Starting with character introduction & development
    2. Creepy shots in between
    3. Most importantly tense atmosphere
    4. Ghost appearance at perfect time from a footage point of view
    5. And lastly ending with something you didnt expect, connecting dots what it really was
    Keep up the good work.
I hope you guys make more movies & I hope you are able to make a feature film one day
    Subscribed :D

very good! just two minuses: they should have been scared much earlier when things began happening and this should have been a full 1,5h movie. :) i liked it a lot ! best found footage thing i've seen in a long time.

We agree, a bit more fear could've been induced in our characters but we also wanted them to not fear what was happening. As for the length, we wish it was longer but we didn't have enough content to keep in the film without making it drag. Thanks for watching! :)

As a horror movie aficionado, for being a short-by-comparison horror movie (45 minutes as opposed to say anywhere from 90 minutes to 140 minutes) using actors (and directors) that very few people have even heard of, I gotta say... This was pretty well done.

The Museum Project was directed by Dion Cavallaro and Paul Evans Thomas, who also plays Paul in the movie along with the other actors seem to share their real names with the characters. I like this little details being that it's found footage.
This one more closely relates to The Gallows in terms of build up and scares, except without stupid characters that you actually hope will die and the tension is done right. Although its short it is a good length for this particular movie so to avoid any useless padding.
There are a few annoying tropes, like a particular decision the protagonist makes at the end. Not to spoil anything but I'd be like um fuck Ned that's what he gets for dicking around! Also the entire movie is a semi slow burn it that it is really just building up to one good scare at the end. But again the short length works favorably for this in that you won't be waiting too long. I never really got bored except when it spent a little too long with exploring the train museum. I get that we are building our setting here but I can only take so much wandering around old trains before I'm ready to see some carnage!
Look forward to seeing more productuons from this company. Keep up the good work!

as good as that was, and it was REAL good, i'd like to offer 3 criticisms. first: I guessed the ending very early on, 2nd: trimming 3 to 4 minutes from the first act would've helped the flow and lastly: i knew ned staying behind was going to be problem. otherwise excellent film. one doesn't have much cause to compliment the acting much on these low budget shorts so i'm gonna give special praise to the actors on this. they did an wonderful job. thanks for this fine film.

Very well made. The atmosphere was super creepy, and the acting was believable. The only problems I have with it were the CGI (as I almost always do with found footage), small, nitpicky plot elements, and the usual problem with found footage, being why they left the camera running at certain points. But at the end of the day, this was much better than a lot of studio found footage movies with a wide release. (4 years late, haha.)

This really hit on all cylinders for me! I love trains, ghost stories, and found footage! Well written and acted! My only suggestion would be more small creepy incidents to create a more foreboding atmosphere ...faces at the window etc. The warning bell going off was a great example...really creepy!!
