- Vandenberg is back! Or should we say: Vandenberg are back?
Adrian Vandenberg (Guitars), Ronnie Romero (Vocals), Brian Tichy (Drums) and Rudy Sarzo (Bass) have recorded 9 new songs.
Backed by Koen Herfst and Randy van der Elsen (Bass tour) we're ready to hit the road, very soon.

One of my favorite hard rock ballads ever, but I still love the old version better, and the band's original fresh melodic Hard Rock sound. Sad too that this Vandenberg's come back doesn't include the original members , especially lead vocalist Bert Heerink. Impossible to be substituted.
Great reworking of a classic. Sarzo and Tichy gave the song a revived heaviness. Ronnie Romero, awesome vocals, and Mr. Vandenberg, flawless 🤘😎👍

I still miss the original band members in the 80s. They were my idols, that's y I know Vandenberg. Never thought the new one. I prefer Bert Heerink's voice

Adrian Vandenberg stated in a recent interview that the original members of the band Vanderberg including Bert Heerink tried to sue Adrian in court for the name "Vandenberg" and he was tied up with the courts for some years and in the end the past band members lost the court battles. So you will never see that original line up again.

This is nothing like the Classic. It's a New beginning. Let's just accept it at that.
The haunting atmosphere is gone which made this tune so unique. I still prefer the original but am curious to finally hear something brand new from one of my favorite 80's bands.

i met Vanderberg in 1992,the day after a Witesnake concert, such a nice guy,very humble and good personality,he went with me to friends house to see his guitars and amps,and play for a while.

Guys, I emailed your managment company (Lisa) today, telling her how excited I am that you're back after 35ish years! I hope you get a chance to play around where I live in the USA so I can bring my 27 yr. old son and his fiance to see you like we did as kids in the 80's trying to be Rock stars I think I saw you guys open for different bands 6-8 times around the Western US as we played. I realized after studying Vandenberg as seriously I did that we were just a kindergarten band and it was time for me at least to grow up and get a job. I'm sure glad you guys didnt think like that, and I'm truly glad you're back!

For me, the raw monitor demo with Dave Coverdale from 30 years ago sounds brutaly good.

First i like Ronnie very much, but dont know if it is a good match hearing this.. lets wait for the album to come, hope it is heavy as promised becouse moonkings where a bit too bluesy for me..
lets say I miss the heavy Heading for a Storm sound.
Then second, is it me or do i hear a auto-tune glitch at 0.53?? And i feel awkward with the drums at some times, like its inconsistend/out of rythm at 0.12 , 0.28 , 1.26
Maybe the song has to grow on me, but i wonder if more people hear this....
Singer sounds o.k. to me at 0.53. I hear no 'rhytm section' as it is in the original, and that may be for this is a project and not a band if you know what I mean.

im glad they used the old original logo as it is, if the setlist is also from vdb1, heading for a storm and alibi, ( and a little less Whitesnake ) im a happy man
Fandamntastic ! Ronnie Romero, I think he sang for Blackmore's Rainbow ? Great vocalist with the ability to sing different ranges. Hope you make the states. Come to Utah and I'll bring at least my chapter of an M.C. we appreciate the Vandenberg band and that it keeps these old rockers stompin foot and clappin hands. \m/\m./✌🍻
I am a vandenberg fan since began the band, manic eden, whitesnake, moonkings .... I have always wished that he would return the band, because I think his first 3 albums are amazing (HFAS is my favorite) .i grew with them. I will always look forward to a new album or whatever he does, but I feel this guy (Romero) is not a good choice. He is a great singer, and he has shown it. i have seen him live some times, but everything he does sounds equal to me. It doesn't matter what he sing, he always does the same.
and it doesn't matter to sing to lords of black, coreleoni, ferryman, rainbow, etc, etc, and now vandenberg.
I don't find any difference in what he does in this song and in any of the things he has done in recent years
it's only the
opinion of a humble fan, and I hope not to offend or disturb anyone.

Fully agree with you Javon. I have been a fan of Adje from the very beginning. Saw him playing in his first band Teaser, of course in the Original Vandenberg and the last couple of years in Moonkings. Adje is one of the very best rock guitar players and he has always made the best choices in vocalists. Jos Veldhuizen (Teaser) was the Dutch Paul Rodgers. Bert Heerink was great (so unfortunate that he chose to claim the Vandenberg bandname) and Jan Hovink is the best f*ckin' and rocking' farmer in the world. Moonkings with supertalents Mart and Sem was great. I understand Adje's wish to tour the world again, but was disappointed by his choice for Romero. His live performances with Blackmore were nothing more than a disgrace. And as you write Javon, he always does the same thing.
The remake of Burning Heart is an easy choice. A bit cheap also. And the new version has nothing new to offer. The original is much better and the same goes for all live versions Moonkings played. I already miss Jan.
Of course I will buy the new Vandenberg album to keep my collection complete. And I hope the new band makes Adje a happy man.

I'm a big 'Adje'-fan since his Teaser time and I was so impressed by his Moonking band with the very talented bass player Sem and drummer Mart and of course the super singer Jan. But after listening, many times Burning hart 2020 I'm really disappointed, the original version is still much better and even, I don't like to say, the guitar was better. The drums are really bad and the bass is not wat I normally aspect from Rudy. Ronnie is a good singer but not for Vandenberg. Of course I'll buy the album and hope the rest is better!
I like Ronnie's voice on all of the Vandenberg songs that I have heard so far. I like the original guitar sounds better. This sounds like IRs instead of actual amp cabs and it may be a software amp here too. I like what this lineup is doing a lot. I saw the original Line up of the band in NYC and have always had a great appreciation of Adrian's guitar style and sound and playing technique. The band sounds really good. I miss that organic band sound though, especially the guitar sound EQd with the tight mids..

Yep. We all know that the hard rock community is receptable to change, & not conservative at all. Everything was better in them good ole' days. Folx weren't so conservative back then.

No artistic (underline that word boldly) reason at all for this remake. Bert Heerink is quite simply the only guy that should be singing a studio version of this. I understand Adje using Ronnie" almost as good a Dio copy as Tony Martin" Romero in a live setting or on new studio tracks but it is just short of sinful here. Vandenberg is about 25 yrs late to the party with this lp. Its decent but inevitably will sink without trace within a couple months. Simple truth not hating on Vandenberg just stating fact. And I must point out this is actually a re re recording as in 2004 Burning Heart was redone on The Definitive Vandenberg collection. With Bert on vocals of course. The heart is barely flickering at this point.

Great songs never die. But if it's not the original take, it can't be recreated.
Persoonlijk bevalt mij deze versie niet zo en m.i. is een remake van een succesvol origineel altijd onverstandig: reeds veel artiesten hebben zich 'het hoofd gestoten' aan bewerkingen van hun grootste hits. Het kan zijn dat ik als 60- jarige teveel verweven ben met het origineel, maar desalniettemin vind ik de w.s. door de producer bepaalde amp- module/sound voor de solo een verkeerde keuze (ik hoor niet de warme Celestion Greenbag sound). Ook 'hapert' de solo (kan zo bedoeld zijn), deze vloeit niet als de solo in het origineel. De basgitaar klinkt in tegenstelling tot de originele versie ook nogal stoffig en niet gedefinieerd. Geef mij dus maar het origineel ;-). Zanger kan er mee door.
Ook dat! had liever how long of differnet worlds gehoord, temeer omdat Burning Heart ook al bij de moonkings voorbij kwam ( nog niet zo lang geleden)
De vernieuwde solo met het langzame tussen stuk vind ik al sinds de Defnitiv Vandenberg, een doorn in het oog

Don‘t know what anyone is complaining about. I think the new vocals by Ronnie Romero fit the song even better than it was in the original. The only complaint I have is that Ronnie often sounds a bit pitchy, for example his "be..." before the solo part.
The vocals are terrible in general.

I love the comeback new stuff on this album. This one should not have been touched. Its too big a song that has been engrained in all our brains. Berts voice will always be this song. Not to mention the original solo. They tried to do it justice and it simply does not work.
Anything with Rudy Sarzo kicks ass. Awesome remake.

Sorry, don't care for Ronnie's vocals on this song. Otherwise, I like it fairly well. But the original was so perfect, it's hard to top!
It's very important to voice one's opinion. After all, they really matter to everybody else. And ESPECIALLY when they're negative to someone else's creative efforts.
I like this version .....vocal wise the original is the best ..but still would have loved a full on Coverdale/Whitesnake recording ..
If it's not broke, you can't fix it.
Yeah it really sucks when artists use creative freedom and not play everything exactly the same as a recording from 1982 like a fucking robot.

Thankfully, he didn't. Jørn's a great jukebox karaoke-impressionist. I heard once an original lyric thought fell down just in front of him, but missed him. He never saw it coming.

T, komt echt niet in de buurt van vandeberg, de drums niet om aan te horen, zanger paar keer was ze timing niet goed, ze stem past niet bij het nummer.De diepgang zit er totaal niet in , en re-re recording van een classic top nummer? Nee ik zou er nog eff wat harder aan werken ,t hoeft geen exacte copie te zijn van het orgineel ,maar er wat speciaals van ,sorry adje ,maar tis het net niet
