Outstanding! I feel that now we’ve all gotten to enjoy the bone-chilling guitar that the old man in the pawn shop was witness to that long-awaited day.
Brilliant cover! Also, for anyone looking to learn the solo if you set the playback speed to 0.5 you could probably work out a tab after spending a little time
Thanks, the guitar is a Furch slope shoulder dreadnought. I'm afraid I'm really not good with sheet music and tabs, I just learned a few licks by ear and eventually started to improvise over the chord progression. So what you hear is basically all I can offer :)
Thanks, I'm afraid I'm not the maker of the guitar I'm playing in this video, it's a Furch. There are however clips on my channel of me playing my own guitars. "More than enough" is one of them. I also made a presentation video about that guitar which is also on my channel, but unfortunately it's in German. I'll do a presentation in English when the next one is ready. The brand name is, quite simply, "Lukas Kowalski". If you have any questions, please contact me: lutherie (at) lukas-kowalski.com
well that made my heart fill up with music,i am one of those who only play when i feel like it but on the flip side if do play without that mood i have not much to give now i feel playing so much touched by L Kowaiski thank you
I am most impressed! I'm a great fan of Guy, and , of course Verlon Thompson, and I've sung/played that number for some years (but not recently0 and I stumbled on your version. Whilst I've never been able to listen or play the song without a shiver down my spine, your version gave me two shivers! (and thats a good thing!) BTW - did you build that guitar?
Well, thanks very much for the kind words. No, I did not make this particular guitar. It was made by a Czech company named Furch. I do make guitars though, and thought that it would be appropriate to play a Guy Clark song (Mr Clark has apparently been a good luthier himself) that involves a guitar in my workshop.
Thanks very much! The guitar is anything but a parlor model, it‘s actually a round shoulder dreadnought. The company‘s name is Furch, that‘s a Czech brand. The looper used for this recording is a Pigtronix Infinity Looper.
When I found your video, I first thought, well another german guy failing to do country but man, was I wrong. This cover is so freakin awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Very good job, Lukas some really nice picking...But I can't agree that Guy and Verlon are 'underrated' (everyone who knows about them them thinks they're ace ;) ). Under exposed maybe
That is true and probably more accurate. By underrated I meant more people should know about them (and then think they're ace ;)). At least over here, might be different in the states.
Not one to be a downer cool cover but doesnt give me chills like the original does the shortening of the beginning and carry through isnt right sounds digitally added. You got a voice for outlaw and blues no doubt but the sharpness of those looped chords are not right
As the kids say… that is a dope cover!! DOPE!!
First time I heard this version and it's excellent. You can feel the guitar, not just hear it.That is what a guitar is supposed to do.
Insanely beautiful adaptation of the song. Just incredible outro ! I am going to spend some time tabbing this out . This gave me chills .
Have you tabbed out?
Ong
Beautiful! I'm thinking you're classically trained. 😊
Nice job
you should 100% tab this out. the solo at least.
Absolutely haunting. Well done.
Great cover. Sounded great!!!
By far the best of "The guitar" cover I have seen on RUclips.
Outstanding! I feel that now we’ve all gotten to enjoy the bone-chilling guitar that the old man in the pawn shop was witness to that long-awaited day.
Very, very well done, vocals, guitar all come together in a timeless tune.
This is the type of gem that doesn't get a lot of views but should. awesome man, got the freaking chills everywhere.
Stunning, a fantastic interpretation.... and what sort of people are the 10 that gave thumbs down, seriously?
FANFRIGGINTASTIC!!!!!
Well done, fantastic playing! 🔥
Lukas- Well done beautiful embellishment on the lead at the end. Thanks for sharing

Thanks. I'd love to. One day...
Brilliant cover! Also, for anyone looking to learn the solo if you set the playback speed to 0.5 you could probably work out a tab after spending a little time
Masterpiece
Apparently it says "Lukas" on the case . . .
Awesome job!!! Wow!
Great interpretation, you made it your own. Bravo!
Fantastic adaptation of this great song! I don't recognize that guitar, first sight it looked like a parlor sized guitar. Great sound.
Absolutely superb Lukas! Great technique and fingering. Love the triplets and the last run down a la “the clap”
Would you ever consider making a tutorial or slow playthrough of this? Would be awesome to learn :)
perfect
Wwwwwwwow! Nothing more to say.
Solid!!!
Nice brother, very nice!
Just found this......this is Awesome!!! Anyone got a tab for some of the solos??
Awesome man
I would pay for a solo tab
What kind of guitar is that? And indeed, could you make the music available? It is incredible.
Thanks, the guitar is a Furch slope shoulder dreadnought. I'm afraid I'm really not good with sheet music and tabs, I just learned a few licks by ear and eventually started to improvise over the chord progression. So what you hear is basically all I can offer :)
What is the brand name of the guitars you make, they have a very nice tone.

Wow. Incredible. Just lovely.
Thats some fancy playing. I like it
Nice last name man 😎 Jesteś polski?
Yours is nice too ;) But no, despite the name, the family has been based in Germany for generations.

Incredible cover! Surprised this doesn't have 10m views! Great job my friend!
Guy Clark would be very proud of you my friend very proud job well done

Nice work sir. Thanks for sharing!
You should put this version up on Apple Music and other platforms
good shit unique but still true to original
3:55 onward is fucking gold
Oh yea. Got my blood pressure up.
Magic happens from 0:01-4:43
Thank me later
