Did you work only with oil paint without mixing cold wax?
Thank you Raquel! I do work in just oils but more with oil mixed with cold wax medium.
Love that turquoise with the pinky color, especially when they blend together! Please tell me, where did you get that wire brush tool, and what do they call it????? Thanks, and looking forward to Part 2! Hugs, cat

What is the medium of the underpainting? You described color, but is it acrylic, oil, …?
Oil and Cold wax!🎨
Was the base acrylic?
Is the paint on your palette tools oil?
Marylou, yes this is oil and cold wax medium.
I really wish you could have explained what you were doing, with the bottle and what seemed to be a stencil. Where you using the oil stick without wax?
Pat, the R&F oil pigment sticks do have wax in them. They are luscious and wonderful! They do not have as much wax as what I mix on my palette of oil paint and cold wax, which is a 50:50 ratio-therefore they are a bit shinier and take longer to dry. The bottle had gamsol in it-odorless mineral spirits, when sprinkled on the painting it eats through the paint to reveal the layers below when you pull it off. The embossed paper was used to impress that texture into the wet paint, and leave a pattern. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
How long will this take to dry? Do you varnish it when dry? If so with what?
Toby, thanks for watching my RUclips channel! For oil and cold wax paintings it dries faster than regular oil paints when you add the wax. It does vary according to how thickly or thinly you apply the layers, the humidity, and temperature. But typically they are set up within a couple weeks and dry by 3-4 weeks. You do not have to varnish these works since they have the cold wax built up in every layer, but you can use Gamblin GamVar as a final varnish- once they are completely dry or cover them with a cost of clear cold wax.
@@LisaBBoardwine Thank-you Lisa - Happy Painting!
Hi Linda,, that Turquoise is stunning..... may I ask, what did you use around the 7.10 min mark to get that pattern....it looked like a textured wallpaper perhaps ?? Thanks :)
Thank you very much! I was using an embossed paper, makes great texture! Appreciate you tuning in! Lisa
Hi Lisa! What medium was the base? Acrylic or oil that had dried? Thank you for sharing your talents with us😊
Carol, This piece was started with oil and cold wax. It had dried so the layers of R&F oil pigment sticks went on very easily! Thank you so much for tuning in to my channel!!
Thank you Lisa! I have not worked in cold wax - my “addiction” is encaustic and use R & F pigment sticks regularly. They are soooo yummy!
Carol the board I used was a board that had acrylic gesso on it. I agree the R&F pigment sticks are amazing! Encaustic painting is a fun medium too!
What do you sprinkle on the painting to remove those little spots?
Karen, I use Gamsol-odorless mineral spirits, to lift the paint so the history or under layers show through.
Lisa B. Boardwine thank you!!!!!
Love it!
Thank you Nancy!!!
