Vegapunk looked Bonney dead in her face and told her Kumas condition was permanent. Then not an arc later with less resources and less equipment Lilith can apparently just reverse it.
What if Lilith is just more optimistic than Stella.
What are you reading, how can you predict that the lab, that hasn’t been built yet, will have less resources. And stopping kuma from dying doesn’t reverse his condition.

So now how on the run with no benefactor and off his island with less resources because it was Egghead obviously anywhere else on earth will have less tech than his home base. Thats my point.
@@WriteWhatISee I think you need to look up what a plot hole actually is. The satellites clearly have different personalities than the original Vegapunk if you read egghead you would obviously see that.
Stella said he couldn't, Lilith says she can. They have the same level of knowledge and intelligence, so clearly what Lilith said to Bonnie was more hopeful optimism than pure fact.
And Lilith doesn't have less knowledge why would a perfectionist like Vegapunk want a copy of himself out there with less knowledge or intelligence than himself. He freaked out just because Momo turned out pink instead of blue.
So my own justification for Kuma coming back originally was the concept of inanimate objects gaining their own wills like the cases with the Merry and Enma.

Other deaths i get, Vegapunk being alive makes perfect sense. Punk records contain his memories he can always be brought back as long as punk records exist.
Vegapunk coming back makes sense because it felt like he was already prepared for it. But Kuma should stay gone

Vegapunk never died in the first place. His entire existence right now is just a brain that functions as punk records. Making a body to upload his consciousness back in to isn't as bad as someone getting brought back with the dragon balls. Clones don't even share the same memories as the original, and exist as their own person. So even if a straw hat did die, making a clone wouldn't be the same as reviving them, it would just create a new person that looks like them.

I’d say for vegapunk this makes sense on the simple fact that he knows if he got caught then he would be executed. If I’m the smartest man in the world and have the ability to make clones why would I not clone myself knowing my intellect will be needed for the greater good?

@@re_striker3431dr. Hiluluk already said that a man dies when he’s forgotten. These characters staying dead and not be forgotten also fit the theme. Robin’s scream “I want to live” is a very powerful moment because death is supposed to be permanent, now apparently is not anymore
@leonkastilyo7463 except kuma never died in the first place. Vegapunks "death" also didn't milk emotional juice from the scene. You may argue that it did with kizaru but I disagree because the character still went through the same thing regardless of vegapunk living or dying

This opens the possibility that the God Knights are all clones of Garling. That would help with the 2 shanks theories

Oda had to bring Vegapunk back. They have been name dropping Vegapunk for 20 years of so, just to have him get killed off in one arc like he's some random? Nah. He was mentioned way too many times to get murdered off so quickly. Also, his death had no emotional impact because we barely knew the guy. We barely know his killer Kizaru, even though we have seen him a good number of times. Speaking of which, this is probably going to result in Kizaru's ultimate face turn when he sees Stella again.
why would it be a face turn for Kizaru? if he finds out VP is still alive what motivation would he have to oppose the WG? wouldnt he just go back to being a cog in the machine. none of his friends are dead. Not VP, not Sentomaru, not even Kuma

Stella should stay dead, I really liked how Lilith keeps referring to herself as Vegapunk and kind of having the qualities of the other satellites. I really thought Oda was cooking something with that but boy was I wrong
I think we are WAY too early in the arc to fully decide what all this means. These mysterious figures just arrived and we got Loki potentially going to rampage all over the island and Lillith says she wants to set up shop HERE? Similarly with Saul, these pieces could just be coming together to be knocked down again. Or it's gonna be super mickey lol.

Yeah if you can die and it means nothing. Than why write them to die at all? If a part of the story is overwritten by another part it starts to degrade the meaning of events.

Let's start with the Vegapunk clone. It's good because Vegapunk's "Death" was never treated like a tragedy. Having a clone makes 100% sense. And depending on how you look at things, it's not even the same guy it's just a similar model with all his memories. For All intents and purposes the original Vegapunk is dead.
For the Kuma thing Stella said there was nothing that could be done and Lilith said that there was. I don't think we should treat this as an absolute because Lilith could just be optimistic and considering where the arc might be going there might even be a an Elbaf left.
So please don't get angry until Kuma is actually alive again. It's just like in Naruto when Obito wanted to sacrifice himself to bring back the dead ninjas like Nagato/Pain did but that didn't happen. The dead stayed dead.

@@yakuzamoons I don't want Kuma to live either but being a Dragon Ball fan and a Marvel and DC fan has more than prepared me for characters coming back to life so it doesn't affect me as much.
While I do agree that he needs to work on how he handles death, my issue with the same criticism that Jay d brought up when it comes to Kuma and what y'all brought up when it comes to Vegapunk is that I thought that was obvious that they were going to be brought back alive. Not because, oh it's One Piece and that's the way he writes his stories, but I swore it was foreshadowed. There's so many moments when we watch Kuma and we question what is life and a soul.I thought it was obvious that Kuma was going to be brought back to life. Or with Vegapunk, and how he's a scientist and he knows how to clone people. I thought it was obvious that, oh yeah, the scientist who makes clones in world full of clones will clone himself. So yes, I do think that death needs to play a bigger importance in One Piece. I don't understand why we focus on the points that are obviously going to be brought back.
It's not just Kuma. What's to stop this same form of "resurrection" from happening to anyone else? is Oda going to make death irrelevant in OP via clones and the Paw-Paw fruit? This is what fans are actually worried about.

so 5600 is considered a big feat

Kuma “surviving” or being “repaired” made sense to me with how the story moving forward. Where we stop getting all these tragic backstory with characters losing parents and loved ones. To where Bonney a child gets a better ending (Kuma being in her life growing up).
If Kuma ends up dying nothings changed…Luffy with all his will and powers can’t…………
if Kuma ends up dying he did everything he was supposed to do as a character. he sacrificed for Bonney & she gets to live and go adventure with the Sun God what else is there left for him to do? he doesnt need to live to be impactful to the story

Which finally answered my questions of where was his brain? Since the apple upon stella's head was always shown as empty.
My assumption after seeing that is if someone was to take it out (the skull) all the satellites are gonna be screwed on some level whether its straight up death or losing their sense of self or something to that degree. Since they all share a mind.

also why didnt judge make a better sanji clone when he booted sanji out of the kingdom? he had cloning back then. why does he gotta wait for sanji to be dead? none of the warlords that were cloned are dead. hell sanji is still part of the group in the comic book powers and all. It makes less sense that sanji wasnt immediately cloned when he got booted. whole cake can still happen because sanji is even more expenable with a perfected clone of him.

Vegapunk is dead though, his clones aren't him. It's why one of them betrayed the other because they are different, with their own personality and goals. They share the same knowledge but are different people.
It's stupid to try to convince people to like this decision. Oda rug pulled them. He had his audience invest in something he led you to believe was a safe investment, and sold his stocks as soon as he could make a profit and stocks plummeted. None of the emtional impact of his death matters anymore. And we are left with the loss..

It would be better for the story if vegapunk could not bring others back from the dead. That is a Pandora's box. The risk is the Harry Potter problem where useful tools in one book (arc) are forgotten in future books. I agree that one piece is bad at killing characters.

There have been so many questionable moments but this is starting to get ridiculous and if you call him out on it there are going to be 1000 dickriders telling you why you don’t have good reading comprehension as if it’s somehing groundbreaking. I just don’t like how every other mangaka is allowed to be criticized outside of Oda.
That’s 99% shounen manga does that. Bleach, Naruto, one piece, fairytale, etc. they might kill the occasional good guy but the large majority don’t. I think this is because creators are afraid to make real decisions when it comes to life and death because it can push fans away if the wrong choice is made.
Kite was turned into a ginger loli in Hunter Hunter, so it isn't just One Piece that refuses to kill off characters permanently.

Long "ish" answer: I feel like Oda is just trying to speed run to end game so he can move on from One Piece the Manga and focus on other media prolly related to one piece.

doesn't feel like a speed run. alot of the chapters have a lot of padding that doesn't add that much to the story
@@77dd2 really hes skipping alot and letting the anime fill in the blanks really the manga is pure context all the action is basically a page and a panel with oda saying "the anime will fill that out" everything else is "why are they here" kinda stuff.

"As long as it makes sense" is probably the weakest line of defense for this Disney writing. The dragon balls made sense in the db universe too but that didn't stop it from turning death into an absolute joke.
Dragonballs are story plot. Vegapunk surviving makes perfect sense because he cloned himself. He cant be killed until punk records is destroyed that is a perfect explanation for him being alive same for Kuma. Any character in OP cant use that ability like any character in Dragonball can use the dragonballs. You cant compare the two.
Other deaths like pell etc didn’t make sense, this one did and was expected.

@@BobbyMarley718 bruh, Vegapunk was able to replicate Kuma's DF and gave it to S-Bear. Vegapunk is now able to clone people. Idk how people aren't able to see the very obvious door this opens for memory based resurrection in this series. All Vegapunk has to do now is remove their memories, make clones, put the memories in the clone body and boom, it's like the person never even died. Also, there's nothing saying that the Paw-Paw fruit isn't able to remove other people's memories either and Oda would have to establish that weird and random boundary for the fruit in the story.
Would it all make sense? It definitely would. Does that make it good? Not at all. It cheapens a very important aspect of this whole adventure. If death is no longer a consequence, then there's no real stakes. It's literally just Dragon Ball all over again.

The clones are the worst thing. I’ve been a casual fan for years and when the clones showed up I stopped caring at all. So is S-Hawk more powerful than King? Can any one be cloned? Clones have been established for years both in the real world and the One Piece world. We've even met sentient clones in Weevil and Stussy. The Seraphim also seem to be sentient and carry their originals personalities to some degree.
Nothing here is new information. We've known this for a very long time.

if Navy wanted to replace the Warlords they never would have started with Kuma clones that can be oneshot by any 3rd commander level characters, and then into baby versions of previous warlords they just would ask Vegapunk to create clones of Akainu or Sengoku and great age of pirates would end right then and there
