  • It's late in the afternoon and we're heading back to Frankfurt after touring Cologne but we have enough time to stop and visit Limburg. It's a quaint little town on the outskirts of Frankfurt known for the striking, painted Limburg Cathedral, the Diocesan Museum, and the medieval half-timbered houses in the old town.

    Nice! would you consider German a useful Language in the US and in Germany?
    I've heard Germans speak somewhat good English, is that true?

      Sadly, most foreign languages aren't useful in the United States. As a general statement, most US citizens haven't traveled outside of the US and are only used to English for conversations. If you travel to Europe, it's the opposite. Most European citizens seem to be bilingual in that they speak their native language plus some proficiency in English. As a European citizen visiting the US on vacation, utilize as much English as possible and you'll be fine.
