In addition to all you’ve laid out here - Kolek is tough. He has mental toughness. That’s what helps him to remain focused and ready for when opportunities present themselves. Old-school PG comparison: Mark Price.
I agree with your assessment unfortunately Tyler will be ready to start in 2 years if given playing time but JB will still have 5 more years of elite play so it will be difficult and just unfair to have him be a backup for 6-7 years.
Only way Tyler could become a star guard on the team is if Cam Payne gets traded away.. then he can at least have more time to gel with the starting rotation players.. and to feel comfortable playing how he wants to play. isn’t easy to do now when you know that 1 mistake will get you benched by Coach Thibs.

This kid has boatloads of potential, i would say hes closer to Mark Price than Stockton. But he just needs to play more otherwise it won't matter
