Hey, unfortunately I have no information about the winch they were using in Poland. Here in Germany at our Airfield we are using Winches from Skylaunch. skylaunch.com/glider-winches/
It amazes me how much altitute they can get with a fairly short line. How is it possible to have a 2,500m line and get a glider up to 1,500+m. You are pulling in just 1,000m of line and the plane gains 1,500m.
It really depends a lot on the circumstances. What lifts the plane is the wind speed. If you have already a lot of wind on the nose, the winch doesn't need to do much to get you up in the air. From the winch perspective it feels a little like flying a kite. 😂

Hey William, thanks for your visit on my channel. Yes, a winch launch is at approx. 6 Eur per launch, which is really cheap.
