Had a chance to drive one and I can see why people love it. It's probably the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in an SUV. The transmission is smooth despite it being a CVT. I'm not a fan of CVTs but this one seems to be the best one Nissan has come out with. Would definitely consider one.
Had this car as a rental, fell in love. Can't wait to own one.
This is legit the only Nissan with a CVT that I would buy. The Murano is phenomenal
Test drive the one in the current gen Maxima. You'll be even more impressed. They did a great job with the Maximas and Muranos.
Agreed! I have always heard great things about the Murano and I had one as a rental car for 2 weeks and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t even feel like I was driving a CVT!
I own a 2015 Murano platinum and it is a nightmare. CVT went dead around 9000km, taillight had condensation twice side door trim fell off without a reason but luckily these were all under warranty. Now, after warranty finished, tailgate stopped working which costed me $1000 to fix. Now my driver heated seat stopped working again it is going to be another $1000+ to fix. I have only driven about 65000km with my Murano!
@@jamesyuan1280 your cvt when out so early ???
@@jamesyuan1280 sorry to hear,I have the same car no issues yet (knock on wood) had it for 4 years ,hopefully I have no issues with it in the near future
Last year I bought my first car. A 2009 Nissan Murano. I worked at McDonald's since I was fifteen (I'm 17 now) I love my car, and it was already more advanced than other cars. For example it has a display and a push button start. I'm still a student but one day I will buy a new Murano because I fell in love with it. It's really freaking good!!
I like how they still have a CD player
A-men. People bash the Toyota 4Runner for being so dated but even Toyota got rid of their CD player in the ancient 4runner. I have tons of CDs and I love them. Still a CD guy living in a digital world
@@Wild1995 amen to that
Absolutely comfortable seats. I would go for one as a highway cruiser, but I would be concerned about maintenance, especially when the starter or alternator need to be replaced as you have to take the right front tire off, remove all that plastic splash shielding, or remove the whole air intake box and intake tube. I don’t like that there is no room under the hood to access anything.
Murano WAS the first CUV to have the “floating roof” design. Love my 2019 Murano SL.
It’s also on the Maxima
Any issues so far?
@@Saturdayz_In_The_Fall your probably the only person I’ve seen say that.
I have the 2019 as well
Loved my 2020 SL . But last Friday we were involved in a head on crash . My Murano is totaled . Now for a 21 or a 22
This (along with the maxima) has aged better than any vehicle in Nissan's lineup. I think they should show it some love.
Some people like to say that the Murano is a bigger cousin of the Maxima, but I disagree. The Murano is a SUV, it’s slower, heavier, and it’s not a sport oriented vehicle like the Maxima. The Murano is no more than a midsize family SUV.
@@ARUclipsChannelwithNoName dont see the murano as a family vehicle at all,way too attractive and sporty, most Americans like vehicles ugly and boxy looking and I don't know why🤷♂️
@@christophermaize3563 Because Americans are in love with trucks for some reason
@@ARUclipsChannelwithNoName I think it's just a bigger 2020 model Nissan rogue like the taillights look Similar and the headlights.
@@douglasjohnson5568 But if you go back in time, it’s actually the other way around. The Murano existed before the Rogue
Phenomenal vehicle. Can’t wait to see what Nissan does with the next gen Murano.
As a Murano owner (and lover), I was excited to see this video
Same here. I have a ‘19 Platinum and LOVE it.
@@bcmidcnty7457 That’s a beautiful car
I have the 2019 Platinum and love, love, love it! I can't tell the difference between the 2019 vs. the 2021...
It’s aged gracefully - those seats look amazing; whole interior is classy. Nice review - congrats on getting to 198k 😎
Thanks, John!
Design aged well.
Agreed
@@Saturdayz_In_The_Fall oh please
@@Saturdayz_In_The_Fall what car looks like that in 2005
@@Saturdayz_In_The_Fall I don’t think so at all
@@bradleyscarreviews yea I normally agree with Dante but he is wrong on that comment. A Pontiac Aztec looks like 2005, but not this futuristic ride!
My 2018 is still going strong! I do like the alloy wheels on this model better than those on my 2018 Platinum. The one thing they need to update is the key fob. Basically the same fob I had back in 2005, 2012, and 2018. Get a more modern design. BTW, the highway mileage on my 2018 is phenomenal. I have gotten as much as 34.5, and consistently average 33 mpg running 75 mph on the highway. And no annoying auto Stop/Start!
Yep! My 2017 is still amazing, too. Zero issues with my Murano.
Take care of her and she will treat you good.
This is virtually the same Murano from 2015, and I think it still looks better than most 2021 cars
Agreed
@J.P.M. 52 agreed that interior is dated
I love Nissans engine personally. It’s really nice and fast. I used to have a Altima and when I put it into sport mode it would take off.
Say what you will, this vehicle even today is one of the best looking crossover in the segment. Yes, better than Chevy Blazer and Hyundai Santa Fe
Nissan absolutely changed the game with the Muranos, but now it’s definitely due for a refresh
The only ones that come close to matching it for looks are the Caddys.
Santa Fe 2021 ..........? Realy............? Dude i have X trail 2018 and this Murano is a same looking..........
I just bought a new Murano Plat in Florida, and I freaking love i!, the engine can handle the weight!!!! (I come from a Rogue SL+Premium) I work at a dealership too so I didn't have time to go through the delivery (They scored a perfect KPI though :-) so.... this video you made was perfect for me (not much I didn't know already but there are details that make me happier about the purchase. It's an oldie, but like so many things in the past is one of the contestants, all they need to add is the PROPilot and they are selling Muranos in ton size packages.
Remote Start is an option on "S" models. The run time is 10 minutes with a provision for 1 re-start for another 10 minutes.
I’m in a Murano rental, -so it’s a base- and it's an SV model. Well, what do you know - even though it’s not nearly as nice as the Platinum in this review, I like it a lot! I was prepared to not like it because of everything I’ve been reading about CVT this, that, or the other.
I’m also a little spoiled by my main car, a 2022 Acura MDX Advance, and I miss all the tech it has, but I’m quite OK with the Murano as temporary wheels. I'm very impressed and can see why people love it.
Fantastic Video Of The Nissan Murano!!! You Both Are Amazing!!
Review nicely done by you guys!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Overall cool looking design ✨🤩
You are correct about steep discounts. My local Nissan dealer has end of year close outs that brings the advertised price of the base model Murano to 25k. You cant beat that value.
aged well but they definitely need a new design now
Great review y’all! Even though this car really slips under the radar, it is excellent!😸
@@Bart-dg6qv true that
Here before the cvt comments
I brought 2021 Nissan Murano Special Edition. My dream SUV, I love it.
2012 Murano SV. 68k miles :) runs great 👍
That’s… great.
2021 murano vs 2021 venza would be a very nice matchup
Venza is a hybrid
Exactly! But no ones doing it😣
Yes
Venza is considerably smaller on the inside and outside.
Awesome 👏 review... Thanks so much for sharing 🙌🙌
Forgot the coupons?!?! I am so upset Drew, you ruined my day. Haha, just kidding. We all forget stuff sometimes, it's all good. This Murano is really nice, never gave much thought to these honestly 👍✌
I just got a 2011 Murano. Even though it’s an older one, I love it! It’s enjoyable to drive. I hope I can get a 2021 or newer Murano in the future.
Nice exterior but there's something I dislike about many Nissans, is the old looking click buttons on the steering wheel, around the infotainment and the buttons for the panoramic roof. Nissan should hire designers from Hyundai. Some of the interior buttons looks 90 ish to me. Their interior designers must be reaching 70 years old, time to retire lol.
As always, awesome review guys! :)
Fixing to pick mine up tomorrow, if I can get out of this snow in my driveway.
Great Review. I am curious to when or if the Murano will be continued into a new generation. I say that since Ariya is coming in the same two row midsized space, albeit fully electric.
Great review guys I almost forgot this car exists.. Looks good decent power decent interior some luxury touches spot on Nissan.. Thanks for sharing Drew and Drew's brother.. I'm not sure Mason maybe 😁😂
You got it haha
Really surprised that front sloped grill style is still going, especially with all others going away from it, interesting.
wow love the muranno nice job guys
Nice driving I like it a lot.
2 years ago today! Might try to get it dude.
Exterior: Modern
Interior: Dated AF
Come on Nissan 🤦🏾♂️
Yha even the key fob is old like come on
Same old start up beep, if you wanna go back 15 years ago, go inside a nissan dealership and breathe in that 2005 air
I have a 2007 Murano. The BIGGEST feature of the Murano that destroys all the competition is interior comfort. No other competition has the comfort and ride of the Murano. I sometimes rent midsize SUVS that are brand new and the ride feels cheap. The ride in the Murano is total comfort. Having said that, Nissan has lost me on their reliability.
Must've been my Murano then. The 2007 Murano I had was very rough, can feel every pebble in the road, even the passengers in the back spoke on how uncomfortable it was. Other than that I loved the vehicle.
My 07 has 350k miles and drives great
Waiting for the redesign 😊
Ooof this needs an update. They couldn’t throw in the same LCD cluster like in the Rogue? One-touch windows only for the front? Faux wood trim?
For the price point, this is severely lagging.
Probably next year , For now get the Rogue. But throwing all this money for a CVT that's why nobody buys them. Bad reputation.
No coupons?!! Hold my beer.... :) Great job as usual.
Haha thanks! 😂
Not bad but people nowadays doesn't buy Nissan over Toyota or Honda
The Nissan won't last half the time that a Toyota or Honda would . The resale plummets as well.
@@randyjackson347 it’s just the cvt that makes Nissan unreliable. Nissan’s engines are great!
Nissan's Murano sold better than the Passport and Toyota doesn't even have a true midsize crossover.
I did haha. The Murano felt much more luxurious than the Venza and Pilot.
@@bradleyscarreviews Nissan's downfall was when they merged with Renault. A terrible car brand..
Looks still very new to me
Why Drew Why u forgot the coupons make the video again It's amazing how this car has survived for so many years Mason u look different
😂 thanks for watching!
Needs to be modernized a bit but great looking vehicle overall
What! No coupons?! NOOOOOOOO!🤣 JK guys, awesome video as always.
Love the channel, but I got to call out something that jusf doesn't make sense - Why do we listen to the radio? It's pointless since we can't tell the difference given we are all watching on out tablets, tvs, and smart phones...
Jist an odd thing that confuses me on all of these. Keep up the great work!
The even bigger question is why is there a DVD player in a 2021 car?
I have a BIG question for 2021 Nissan Murano Platinum owners (and other Murano owners too). When going do a hill with the (ICC) cruise control set the vehicle will continue to coast WAY past the set speed (as if it's in neutral). Is this NORMAL for all Nissan's, or do I have a problem with the ICC (computer controlling the set speed)? We have not cruise control problem alerts, and even with my 96 Land Cruiser we don't have this issue.
Why won’t they change the steering wheel???? Make it the flat bottom! 🤦🏽♂️
Great car but it looks like my 2016 haven’t updated that Entertainment screen SMH
What’s new?: the cvt since the first one has already failed.
1..2..3 everyone goes complaining about cvt 😂
I wonder when Nissan will debut the next-gen Murano??
Hopefully they take from the new rogue design
@@fadedviews Why would they do that? The Murano is supposed to be a Murano, not a dressed up Rogue.
Nice review guys thanks
How are the 2019 platium nissian murano, are there much difference, in the 2019 and 2021
Visually, exterior/interior & drivetrain, 2019-2021 are virtually identical.
I'd wish the murano would have a new infotainment system and gear shifter, other than that great car
Hey Christopher Battle Happy Birthday 🎊🎉🎈🎁🎂💷💳💰💎💶💸💴💵
If you explain a customer that takes long rides regularly (like every week X 600~miles two way) what a PROPilot does for you, they'll buy from you...
This may affect my eyesight because they don't seem to adapt this design theme even for the models in the close price range.
I cannot get past that ugly steering wheel design. Other small things like an electric parking brake and one-touch automatic windows aren't an issue for me. The interior has great looking seats but the switchgear and tech is very outdated.
The steering whell is also look like 10 years a go😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Awesome review but yes Nissan this is beginning to look like a prehistoric Saber- toothed tiger. I love the interior touch points but nissy an 8' navi screen on a platinum model? Come on😒
What is the towing capability?
1500 lbs. but trust me, you don't want to be pulling anything with a CVT on a regular basis. An occasional cross-town trailering some furniture or appliance, but I'd be wary pulling, say, a lightweight pop-up camper cross-country. Get something with a regular geared transmission, trailering package, etc.
I thinking of buy the used 21' Nissan Murano.
The problem of this crossover is the CVT is a big problem there's other better vehicles Toyota Highlander , Kia Sorento
Those are three row SUVs
I hate the bubble look on SUVS. Reason why I will FOREVER be in love with the Toyota 4runner. Although I absolutely love the way they redesigned the Nissan Rogue.
Do you also hate the bubble look on most modern sedans?
@@ARUclipsChannelwithNoName only SUVs. I feel like they should have a more masculine squared off look.🤷🏾♀️
@@SpirituallyGifted888 Then you’ll have to look at body on frame SUVs
name that's why I have a 4runner🤗
@@SpirituallyGifted888 And I have two Muranos. They’re fantastic cars. I don’t need a truck, so I don’t buy big trucky SUVs with big engines
This generation Murano looks so old, especially that dated steering wheel and small, dash-integrated infotainment. Nissan did a great job with the new Rogue and upcoming Pathfinder. I hope they redesign this next.
@@EpicDrew15 The Outback has an 11" dash-integrated infotainment that looks great. I think my problem is more with size and appearance. The ford edge has an 8" screen like this Murano and they look small, poor quality, and outdated to me.
Really like the MURANO
The 2021 Nissan Murano it looks alright, I think it needs a refresh! Lol!
It actually need a redesign, they refreshed it in 2019
@@kromahj ok
@@kromahj it’s due for a redesign for 2022, I believe. So it shouldn’t be too long.
I would get the new Pathfinder instead. Better tech, better design, better CVT lol
My 2002 Infiniti has the exact same memory seat controls lol
That key fob looks like a neat design! Is that new for Nissan?
Nissan has to be making a killing off these things considering they’ve been building it since 2015. I would expect $6000.00 off
@@EpicDrew15 absolutely a good idea
Why do I feel like these are overpriced? Anyone who owns this can you please tell me what you love about it. Also any problems with CVT engine? Ownership length?
They're actually a bargain (not overpriced)! When you sit in and drive a Murano, it really does feel like a luxury car. The quality of some materials, interior design, supple ride, buttery smooth engine and transmission. The interior felt nicer than the Lexus RX I test drove. This is our 2nd Murano and never had problems with the CVT. Our old 2011 Murano is still on the road and never had issues at all either. Bulletproof reliability
The new one is 2 years old (2019 model).
@@caribgenius thank you for your input. I’ve got this car on my “list” of potentials to test drive. The Rx was pretty nice inside. I’m so curious about the Murano. It always catches my eye when I’m out driving and see it. Everyone always screams to stay away from cvt’s that’s why I was inquiring from people who actually own one. Thanks 👍🏻
but u dont speak abut macheen howmany selender and power howmany cc
Why would you buy the murano when the new 2021 platinum rogue is so much better?
The much more powerful V6, better ride, wider, more space in the 2nd row...
Just wait for the 2022 Murano
48K? Holy shit, you can probably buy high trim levels of 3 row SUVs like Telluride, Palisade, or Ascent. Well, I guess Nissan dealerships are probably willing to discount this heavily, so you can probably get it for 40K. But still, at 40K, I would rather get Subaru Outback.
It's a premium mid-sized SUV. Look at its other 2-row competition...the Ford Edge and Chevy Blazer are the same price as the Murano (sometimes more).
@@caribgenius doesn’t feel any premium, it’s not even a luxury badge. For 48K, why not just go for 3 row Pathfinder instead of 2 row?
@@blackwhirlwind1245 Many have agreed that the Murano is indeed premium. That's the whole point of the Murano. Why not get the 3-row option? It's for people who want the added space over a compact SUV, and the powertains offered in the 3-row offering. The 2-row mid-size offering usually gives a benefit over their 3-row mid-size. It's either sportier, more luxurious, and/or extra features. That's the whole point of the Ford Edge and Chevy Blazer as well. If you go into a 2020 Murano and Pathfinder. You will quickly see that the Murano is much more luxurious. Also, people don't want to be seen in a 3-row crossover for fear of looking like a soccer mom or they just prefer the added benefits of the 3-row. It's the same reason why people by a 2-door coupe over its 4-door sedan counterpart despite the fact that the coupe is the same price (and sometimes pricier) than the sedan.... think Civic sedan/coupe, Mercedes C-classs, Infiniti Q50/Q60, BMW 3/4 series.
@@blackwhirlwind1245 Also...a vehicle doesn't need a luxury badge to be a premium/luxury vehicle...think Buick Enclave, Kia Stinger, Toyota Avalon, Chevy Corvette, GMC Yukon Denali, etc...
@@caribgenius well, how is it premium compared to rogue? It doesn’t have big screen, it doesn’t have wireless carplay, it doesn’t have digital gauge cluster, 360 degree camera isn’t crystal clear, I think it also doesn’t have sensor behind the door handle to let you unlock it by placing your hand inside door handle. Power train is also so-so, not fast not slow either. Not to mention the biggest disappointment is still the Jatco CVT. I know murano is getting old, and Nissan is probably going to redesign it soon, but for now, there are better options out there unless Nissan discount it heavily.
On a different subject; will your brother ever get to drive the test vehicles? 😁
So glad they redid the front, i used to think this car was hideous

That 1st year Focus had some minor bugs that were quickly fixed for the 2001 model year. We actually have a 2001 ZX3, bought new. Incredibly reliable, other than batteries, tires, brakes, shocks/struts, wiper blades, filters & oil changes - all original, even the exhaust system.
