Lost my mom earlier this year who was battling cancer as well. Worst feeling of my life. Hearing stories like this really shows that Vince does indeed have a heart and does care.
I remember Bret Hart saying that after he had his stroke and he was laying in a hospital bed the first phone call he got was from Vince. And this was while they were on terrible terms and he wasn't back with the company yet. Always thought that was cool.
Vince McMahon is one of the most complex and fascinating individuals I've ever seen. Through the stories I've heard over the years and all of the matches and promos, there's an interesting dichotomy about him. He's empathetic but narcissistic, greedy but generous, compassionate but cold, loyal but ruthless, proud but vulnerable, manipulative but straightforward, he apparently hates sneezing but isn't afraid of crying, he'll be the butt of the joke but command respect and dominate his company, he's likeable but hateable. Regardless, wrestling wouldn't be what it is today without him. He's also the best heel of all time.
Yeah I kinda believe everything I’ve ever heard about him, positive and negative. And both are to the ultimate extreme. Whether you love him or hate him he’s responsible for the popularity of one of my favorite things in life, pro wrestling.
@@yourmum955Sure under him WWE has almost crashed and had bad slumps but under him it also brought memories, happiness, bonding for multiple generations

I know for a fact I’ve worked in jobs where if I’d of lost somebody I loved my boss at the time wouldn’t have given a shit so for Vince to do that especially as not just a boss but a boss of a massive company and be as rich as he is and still has his morals and empathy, it’s nice to hear ❤
When I was a kid, probably 8 to 10 years old, I used to sneak into the back door area where the professional wrestlers would enter at Hersheypark Arena.… When WWE was in town. I remember so many great moments, that I shared with many superstars. The best was when Vince McMahon saw a fake backstage pass that I made at home, before he even thought about doing so for his own wrestlers… And told me that it was pretty amazing and gave me a job for the night and then every night they were in town, sweeping up the ring or figuring out something else for me to do. Then giving me a $20 bill at the end of the night. Which, at the time, was a lot of money. That was back in the early to mid 80s. Needless to say, he was always good to me. I remember a day when Stephanie McMahon and I ran around the arena finding fun stuff to do. We were both probably 10 or 12 years old. I can still see Vince putting her in the Cadillac and it driving away. Needless to say, he wasn’t always the person that he became. I think time, power and money made him into what we know today. Which is sad, because To be known for making An entire industry into what it has become, and then having that reputation destroyed at the very end of your career… Just proof positive of what I have always said. One man only needs so much money. When you gain too much, so that you can do anything or go anywhere… You start looking for things you’ve never done before, which end up being nefarious, in order to excite you in the way that things you used to love to do, did.
