Hey Kris, just an FYI from a mechanic. The baby with a hacksaw scene was completely safe. The parents had the forethought to turn the blade around and adjusting INSIDE the object to be sawn. The portion of the blade facing towards the child posed no danger as that side of the blade is blunt. Hope that clears anyone's conscience

The dad with the hacksaw is actually pretty smart. He put the blade on backwards, facing into the saw handle, with the toilet seat trapped inside the handle as well, and is sawing away from the child.
I was going to point that out, too. The baby could accidentally bump the saw and he wouldn’t get cut. I think the parents just didn’t want him to get his head whacked by the hand moving.
Right, it's not like he was using a sawzall or something😂

With the toilet seat one at 11:30, they were cutting AWAY from his face. The blade was turned away from the kid. They're okay. I love that you worried though. The slide one at 15:00 is the one that got me--there's not enough shown for us to know if he's okay. The parents are laughing and I'm here hoping he's not injured or unconscious.
11:30 for reference the saw edge isn't facing towards him as he's sawing away, you can unscrew those and adjust directions, he's telling him to lift his head so he's not leaning towards his hands moving down so he doesn't punch him in the head
Hey Kris, just to let you know, a Hack Saw can have the blade reversed so when the dad was cutting his kid out of the toilet seat, the sharp part is actually facing away from the baby so there is no risk of the kid getting cut, and thats why the saw was working its way out towards the dad and not inward towards the kid.

Indeed. This is much safer than the special scissors she talked about (shattering the plastic et cetera). The only thing I'm critic about in that vid, is that the mother indeed wouldn't get the head up instead of filming. Calling them bad parents is way too harsh, it would be nice to see apologies for that.

I knew someone would mention the blade being reversed! Thank you! It looks scary but really was the best solution. Cutting pliers or the like would have to be headed right at the munchkin to be used.

Hey Kris, great video as always, funny and makes everyone in a good mood. I just wanted to clarify something though. In the toilet seat sawing clip at 11:28, the hacksaw’s blade was turned inwards and the dad was sawing from the inside out so the kid was pretty much safe. If he saw from the outside towards the kid’s face, then it would have been extremely dangerous. I hope nobody is that dumb to do that.

The hack-saw guy was doing it in the most safe way he could. He installed the blade backwards and with the blade starting from the inside so that all the dangerous parts are facing outwards towards himself👍

About the hacksaw clip, it looks to me like the father has removed the blade, slipped it through the toilet seat, reversed it and reattached it to the saw backwards. You can see it's cutting outwards, away from the child, not inward, meaning the edge of the saw blade facing the child is the smooth one. They're fine - the only thing they really risk here is getting smacked in the face by the moving handle.

Yes, the father reversed the blade. It looks little off but babies/toddlers are picking up every emotion from the parent. The kid was so calm and trusted his dad because of that.
A parent must know how to turn any situation to a play. Like when a kid falls you can't panic,cause you'll have one screaming / crying kid and you'll need wonder to make him stop.

yeah, my mum never believed my broken bones either, in fact, funny stories; 1. She left me outside in the snow after coming out to yell at me, not once, but twice! because her flippin' dinnerparty was more important than my pain (I had broken my leg and couldn't move. I laid there for over an hour). And 2. She insisted that I was "overreacting" and refused to take me to hospital another time, my dad finally convinced her about 3 weeks later, and x-rays confirmed that my shoulder and elbow were both broken. No wonder I'm in therapy at 37 years old, and my best buddy is my dog Nezha (a shetland sheepdog, 2 years old).

What the heck. My sister and I were riding horses and the horse she was on stepped in a hole and she got bucked off and hit her arm on the saddle on the way down. Broke her arm. I had to catch her horse lift her on it and lead her home. Rode down driveway screaming for mom. Straight into car straight to hospital. No questions. I can't imagine what you went thru. I mean we weren't ever suppose to interrupt adults. But if someone was hurt everyone came running. That was awful what you went thru. I can't imagine.
my grandma didn't believe my uncle had broken his jaw until a few days later; he'd been punched by someone, she was a nurse, she said take a couple Ibuprofen and go to bed; when it kept hurting they took him to the doctor and he ended up having to have it wired shut and drink food thru a straw for that time
When I was a baby, my parents took all sorts of photos and videos. My mom especially was the kind of person who wanted those cute photos of babies smearing food on their faces. Except, I didn't do that. I didn't smear the food on my face, so mom took matters into her own hands... She deliberately put Cheerios and spaghetti on my face so she could take the picture. To this day, dad and I will never let her forget. There was one time when my parents gave me a chocolate heart cake to eat and no cutlery. I was not as messy as they were hoping for.
On another occasion while camping, mom thought it would be okay to give a toddler (me) hot chocolate at 9pm. What happened next was a combination of my parents trying to get my PJ's on and me twirling in a circle, giggling like crazy. Again, dad and I will never let her forget. And then best part, we have it on film.

Just wanted to say that, as a preschool teacher, using the hacksaw like that is probably safer than trying to use scissors. That plastic is thicc, and scissors are gonna flick around and maybe even hit the kids eye but the edge off the hacksaw blade that was facing the kid is blunt so even if he had throw his forhead at it damage would have been minimal. The other alternative would be to heat it and melt the plastic and that would be even more dangerous.

OMG thank you! I love that Kris is team no kids! It’s one of the many reasons I relate to her! I literally have a fear of babies and toddlers! I am a germaphobe and an introvert who does have to have my man pay my bills while I go to school full time and play house wife, because I can’t keep a job that doesn’t require a college degree. Adding a child into the mix whereas I have my own struggles in taking care of myself would be catastrophic. A fur kid is as far as my hubby and I are willing to take care of 😅.

Earlier this evening I got hit with some rather crappy news, and this video is the only thing that's made me laugh all day. Thank you for that.
I can just imagine if you had a toddler and you did the Riley voice in front of them, or you turned into the Riley character. Or you're practicing a bit as all the different kid voices and your toddler comes walking in expecting to see other children and gets crazy confused. But then they find out all the voices come out of mommy and run away scared. The whole time they'll be thinking, "All the voices in the world come from my mommy."
I could never be a mom. Respect to anyone who wants to be, or currently is. I'm way too sarcastic, I come up with too many pranks, and I work with costumes and makeup. So my kids would be fearing me throughout Halloween season.
When you mentioned wearing a helmet as a child, I had a flashback to when I was much younger and did gymnastics. There was a little girl who the teacher (as a joke) called her Crash, or Super Crash because she would always crash into whatever apparatus we were on, or really anything in her path. I don't know if it was because she never had her hair pulled back and couldn't see anything. Or if it was that she had no foot-to-floor coordination.
