Dominique helped put the city of Atlanta and TBS/TNT on the map. If he had more sponsors and a solid contract *instead of paying 13 million to Jon Koncak in 89, Nique probably would’ve got the recognition he deserved early on his career. Still one of the most inspiring players to ever do it🤘

Yep... I actually saw him in Whole Foods.. we were buying the same toothpaste and he approached me and said hey that's the same one I buy... lol. Very humble brother.
Weak? Those people don't know basketball. Did you hear the names he battled in the east alone? The west was no picnic either. Guys like Purvis Short would give you buckets. He was considered second tier.
As soon as I hear the “we live on location!” I know it’s gonna be a great show. Keep up the great work knuckleheads! One of the best basketball podcast shows out there 🏀

Thank y’all for having him it was Great to hear him speak about this Big Harold my father he pass away, I heard all about these stories from my father and uncles, it’s 4:30 am and this touch me, he put the Reebok courts up in our neighborhood which he is from ODH Baltimore, my family knew his family i never believe my father and them until he put the courts up and I remember that day like yesterday and when him and my father seen one another that day 🙏🏾 R.I.P Big Harold crazy too hear something confirm like this i coach and won 🏆 on that same court for years
I ran into Nique a few years back. Was a retail store manager and he was shopping with his family. Hard to not recognize him head to toe Hawks gear and his height; he had a mob around him. I asked if he wanted my security people to help him get around the store and he said no thanks. And spoke and was kind to everyone that wanted to talk to him. Showed me what kind of guy he was.
🫡Salute to the Knuckleheads team for bringing in “The Human Highlight Reel”, Dominique Wilkins.🦅The class of the NBA, one of my childhood idols, one of the greatest players ever & an absolute basketball god. Growing up in Chicago I had every Atlanta game circled on the calendar because you knew it was “on” & people were gonna get bodied that night. Thank you, Nique’ for a lifetime of incredible memories & leaving an indelible mark on the sport.🥃

@@steveparker40 That's not true. Dominque didn't want to play in Utah and they just so happened to have a cash flow issue so Nique was traded for John Drew, Freeman Williams and a million in cash.
He is super underrated and completely forgotten about because of the teams he played for. People only know him as dunker, but he was a much better player then given credit for
Salute To Dominique Wilkins aka the human highlight film and knuckleheads for another great episode. He gave everybody Crazy Work. I seen this man shoot a three at the top of the key catch his miss and Tip Dunk it On Everybody. Glad to hear him give props to Bernard King ( a walking bucket).

It's Great to see a Legend and Gentleman all rolled into the same person. What a great personality too share all his thoughts and moments from his playing days. He's still a most respected player to young and old. God Bless You, Mr. Wilkins. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. 🏀🙌👍🙌
Just a great interview with one of the greatest to play the game. For newbies who don't know how great Bernard King was I would describe BK as along with Wilt " the most unstoppable scorer we have ever seen !". B King would drop 50 with all 5 players on the opponents team trying to stop him ( the Knicks had nobody else really ). Case in point.....One of the greatest games in team history. The knicks go up to Boston Garden ( the Celtics used to get away with murder on defense it was " no blood no foul ). The day before at a news conf Cornbread Maxwell proclaimed " he aint getting no 50 against us ".....Bernard scored 50 plus points with all 5 Celtics trying to send him to the hospital and King treated them like they were mosquitoes trying to bring down an elephant. That's how unstoppable Bernard King was. Listen to Nique tell it.
@@superdopehiphop No,, as great as KD and Iceman, and still in the running for GOAT Oscar was, Wilt and B King are the only ones that had to score at the most physical time and had to score on all 5 of the opposing team trying to stop them. Since you mentioned KD he got punked by the Celtics in the Playoffs last year and folded like a deck of cards. It was so bad he could not even dribble and mentally lost it. KD is no Bernard King. As thin and weak as KD's body is he could not score with Williams hacking him and the Celtics keying on him.

Dominique Wilkins has been a hero of mine since I was a little boy. Not only as a basketball player, but as a man. I saw so many games at the Omni where he just balled out, but also saw him out in the community just as often
My favorite player of all time y’all. Love that y’all did this one plus I live in the A and have met him a couple times. Super cool and humble man. Keep doin what y’all do. Fam!!!
Nique is a classy man. No cursing, no ni**a, no macho, trying to keep it real for the streets garbage. Wish more grown man would behave like grown man. Respect.

Just wait young fellas for 20 years when your kids and their generation can’t understand how good the NBA players are now. THEN you’ll know how us old heads feel about our generations NBA legends and who we watched growing up
Installed cubicles in a business that Nique had, he came in and gave everyone autographs and stayed and talk with use for at least an hour. Nique is so cool humble and down to earth
I always respect Nique for letting folks know how tough Baltimore is and has been. They’ve written songs about it, nicknamed drugs after it. There’s lots of greats who never made it out the city …. Because it is such a rough city. I root for all the folks that make it out of Baltimore on to bigger and better things. Trust me when I say there have been some GREAT players in both football and basketball that never made it out. Shoutout to Baltimore, Hard times in the city in a hard town by the sea ~ Nina Simone
Bird v Nique in game 7... If u love this game..I advise u to watch the 4th quarter of this one. One of the reasons I hated Bird and the C's growing up.. But man did I respect them.
call me bias but this is the best one. Being from metro ATL, Niq was the man. we liked MJ but we Loved Niq. Some of my greatest moments were going to the Hawks games in the Omni and after the game there would have a Rap concert. He was down to earth and very approachable. His sister had a store in Cumberland Mall and we would see him there. We didn't ask for an autograph, we were just happy that he spoke to us when we made eye contact. Still can't believe he didn't make the top 50
Big facts growing up in that era in Ga Niq was the God to us, Mike was okay but Niq was that dude. It was crazy the Omni would be empty and you could damn near sit courtside by halftime back then. It was a sad day when they traded him to the clippers for Danny Manning. I went to his first game back in the Omni after the trade he dropped 50 that night and we was all cheering for Niq!
The greatest thing about all the legendary dunkers & dunk contest is they weren’t missing dunks. It’s one thing to do the dunks they were pulling off but to make it on the 1st attempt is what separates them from everyone else!!!
THANK you. It's why when Nate Robinson won his first dunk contest, it was so disappointing. I believe he must have missed around 10 in a row of the same dunk attempt. How the hell is something like that a winner? I know he's only about 5'8, but c'mon! Do a dunk you know u can make or will likely.
Yes!!! This was one of the many great episodes like you always do! For me he should’ve been in the Top 10 all time & if he could’ve played on the 1st Dream Team! Homage to “The Human Highlights Reel Dominque Wilkins!”

Best interview 🙌🏿 I have seen in weeks, maybe months. Nique the freak is giving us that real spill. F on transcripts, Crosses ✝️ burning 🔥 on the front lawn. God 🙌🏿 bless this man, he came a long way
I always wondered how he went from being drafted by Utah but was traded to Atlanta. And also the story of why the Lakers with the first pick in the 1982 Draft didn't select him. Glad he cleared that up. Nique with the Lakers would have been BOX OFFICE basketball entertainment at it's best. As a Lakers fan that is.
Lifelong Detroit Pistons fan but use to enjoy watching those Hawks teams play back in the mid to late 80's. Back when cable only had Superstation TBS, WGN everyone seen majority of Bulls, and Hawks games around the country.
as a MJ fan i always respected Dominque and think he's underrated all-time... the Lakers took James Worthy of Wilkins, had he joined Show Time he may equaled Magic in terms of popularity with his high flying power game... maybe the greatest in game dunker in NBA history... fax!!!
FROM OG, SAW DOMINIQUE HUMAN HIGH LIGHT NIQUE IN HIS ROOKIE SEASON IN NBA, PLAYING OUT OF CONTROL MEANING WAS DUNKING ON EVERYBODY , SAW HIM LIVE DUNKING ON NYK TEAM AGAINST HUMAN ERASER AND BILL CARTWRIGHT WAS CRAZY FOR SURE , THANK YOU HUMAN HIGH LIGHT FOR THAT JAM IN YOUR FACE GAME, SEASON AND CAREER AS WELL TOO AM JUST SAYING YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH
I Love how D-Miles didn't ask the question until it fit the context of the interview!! That shows that Ni'que is special..... and D-Miles is a great journalist!!
I hate to be the old man talking about how much the game was better when I was a kid but at 52 years old now.. I’m saying it! Magic, Dr J, Bird, Jordan, Dominque and Isiah just to name a few! Ain’t nobody in the NBA today messing with them boys! Dominique was so special! I’m glad I was alive to witness Bird vs Dominique game 7 in Boston Garden in 1988! That was a war! Sidebar.. Bernard King was a monster on the court. He was unstoppable! Had the Knicks kept Ewing, King and Mark Jackson in their prime they’d have 5 NBA championships! No cap! 💯 🏀

Most underrated legend ever. Should've been on the original top50. Glad he made the 75th Team💪🏾💪🏾

Dang...that's Nique right there. He's top 75 but still underrated. He and Bird used to go at it. One of the GOAT dunkers too
Yeah him and. Bird had battles
He and Jordan had battles as well, and nique usually won!
He should of been on the top 50 as well !
Nique had a all around game but they only highlighted his dunks
24:10 For anyone, who is looking for the iconic first question.
Thank you
I scrolled the comment section just for this! Appreciate you for this!

People saying MJs era was weak? Nique battled MJ in the playoffs and the dunk contest. Nique more than held his own with the GOAT

With Nique' - the way he dunked, he combined grace with ferociousness - a true art when he dunked!
His college teammate Eric Marbury was my first ever basketball coach. RIP Eric
Stephon's bro. He was nice too. R.I.P.
Being from Utah and knowing Utah drafted Dominique. Could only imagine if we had Nique, Malone and Stockton. Damn what could've been!!!
Nique being traded for 2 first round picks is how you got Malone and Stockton the following draft. So that would’ve never happened
🙏🙏Blessings forever GOD loves y'all too forever tell everyone you know and don't know. Jesus loves y'all too forever. Teach everyone how to see and enjoy their blessings too forever2
@@steveparker40 That's not true. Dominque didn't want to play in Utah and they just so happened to have a cash flow issue so Nique was traded for John Drew, Freeman Williams and a million in cash.
He is super underrated and completely forgotten about because of the teams he played for. People only know him as dunker, but he was a much better player then given credit for
Agree..I was a huge Nique fan while everyone else was Jordan fan. "
You can't score 26,00p pts in the NBA on just dunks. ~Dominique Wilkins
What I particularly love about this pod is they keep it 🏀 .
Yes! No preaching or messaging. It's all ball and history.
🙏🙏Blessings forever GOD loves y'all too forever tell everyone you know and don't know. Jesus loves y'all too forever. Teach everyone how to see and enjoy their blessings too forever2
My all time favorite basketball player. Love, love, love that man. Glad to have met him a few times. Pure class as a person as well as a player.
It's Great to see a Legend and Gentleman all rolled into the same person. What a great personality too share all his thoughts and moments from his playing days. He's still a most respected player to young and old. God Bless You, Mr. Wilkins. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. 🏀🙌👍🙌
I've been watching Nique since he came in the league. It's Great to hear all the stories he told. Thats why he is my favorite player of all time..
Agreed but I would also put Durant & Gervin in there as well as 87-88 to 92-93 MJ. Jerry West & Big O also deserve mention as well as LeBron & Kareem.

This guys put-back dunks we’re thunderous💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Best put back dunker. He picked em out o da air and slammed in one motion!
You can tell D Miles really wanted this conversation. He didn’t even start with the favorite question lol
But did he even ask the question?
Fantastic interview... Always been a Dominique Wilkins fan....
Legend! Met him at Atlanta airport and no one stopped to talk to him but me, I was shocked.
We see Nique all the time in atl. And we all stars lol
Dominique Wilkins has been a hero of mine since I was a little boy. Not only as a basketball player, but as a man. I saw so many games at the Omni where he just balled out, but also saw him out in the community just as often
That 1979 high school basketball class is the best ever.
No doubt.Sampson, Worthy, Isiah, Bowie, Kellogg, 'Nique,
Q and D Miles never disappoint! 🏆
S/o D.Miles goin deep into dat highschool convo. Real NC #252 history.

I love Dominique. What a class act, and what a great ambassador for the sport! He deserves all the praise he gets.
D Wilkins is one of the most humble cool superstars of all time. A great human being.
Man about time they had Nique on the show. I am a big fan of this man. growing up in the A I was glad that I got a chance to see him play live. He was amazing. This is one of my favorite podcasts too. They really get into it with great questions.
🙏🙏Blessings forever GOD loves y'all too forever tell everyone you know and don't know. Jesus loves y'all too forever. Teach everyone how to see and enjoy their blessings too foreverv
Dominique Wilkins voice is smooth and fine like good wine 🍷
So glad you guys got Nique. I had his height poster in my room as a kid. Him and MJ were my favorite players growing up
Q Rich and Darius Miles!! 2 of my favs back in the day!!
Nique is so cool humble and down to earth
another dope interview. nique funny as hell. legend
Loved this interview. Nique was that guy and has always been a stand up person, Always played hard,
These boys get the best guest all my favorites. Yall deserve some awards best sports podcast
Shoutout to Baltimore,
Hard times in the city

Bird v Nique in game 7... If u love this game..I advise u to watch the 4th quarter of this one. One of the reasons I hated Bird and the C's growing up.. But man did I respect them.
The best in game dunker of all time in my humble opinion.
Vince carter
Darryl Dawkins
Crazy how DMiles was fanboying. It’s great to see how even though they see STARS, it’s always THAT STAR.
call me bias but this is the best one.
Please stop leaving us with all the smoke lol
I know, right?
Omg facts sooooo sick of Stephen Jackson bias ass
@poohk.8587 It's really Mattt Barnes fake ass for me.
Lol everytime they get a good guest I’m like I need to see them on the knuckleheads podcast instead
We beg you lmao
The greatest thing about all the legendary dunkers & dunk contest is they weren’t missing dunks. It’s one thing to do the dunks they were pulling off but to make it on the 1st attempt is what separates them from everyone else!!!
THANK you. It's why when Nate Robinson won his first dunk contest, it was so disappointing. I believe he must have missed around 10 in a row of the same dunk attempt. How the hell is something like that a winner?
I know he's only about 5'8, but c'mon!
Do a dunk you know u can make or will likely.
Facts!!
Couldn't wait for this interview Dominique Wilkins my favorite player and I'm from Chicago
In no order Nique, Kemp and Vince best in games dunkers ever 😤
Dr.J and Tom Chambers ( big time underrated.Ask Mark Jackson)
zach lavine, jason richardson, nate robinson
My favorite player as a kid growing up
Yes!!! This was one of the many great episodes like you always do! For me he should’ve been in the Top 10 all time & if he could’ve played on the 1st Dream Team! Homage to “The Human Highlights Reel Dominque Wilkins!”
🙏🙏Blessings forever GOD loves y'all too forever tell everyone you know and don't know. Jesus loves y'all too forever. Teach everyone how to see and enjoy their blessings too foreverq
This interview was NEEDED bros 💯
Best interview 🙌🏿 I have seen in weeks, maybe months. Nique the freak is giving us that real spill. F on transcripts, Crosses ✝️ burning 🔥 on the front lawn. God 🙌🏿 bless this man, he came a long way
I appreciate how y’all show the OGs love.
Classy guy and a hell of a player.
Had to squint n wipe my eyes when I was reading the notification 👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥
Looking forward to them eventually interviewing Rod Strickland and Steve Smith. 😀
Need Mookie blaylock
I like all the smoke and knuckleheads. But give the edge to knuckleheads, just straight insight and interviews.
Oh I can't wait for this interview this is about another classic knuckleheads always coming with it
Loved Dominque. He was always my fave....glad to see he is doing well!
madd underrated smh. He shoulda been on that NBA @ 50 team in 1997. So that David Robinson 71 point game was fixed?! that's crazy
And should have been on the 1992 Dream Team
@@stanleyyoungitc factz, as well as Isiah Thomas
@@Classicbasketballdvds Don't get me started on that travesty!!! I'm from Detroit.
@@stanleyyoungitc lolz, i hear u
I have argued that he should have been part of that Top 50 group for years in the barbershop.
Gotta respect D Miles interview/conversational skills.
Man D Miles is horrible. He needs to stick to the most important topics
@@markj6681 and he tries to complete other people’s sentences!! Very irritating!!😡🤬
@@tk2fly3d
Yes. That is irritating!!!
One of the most underrated players of all time
Georgia dropped that bag on Dominique 💰💰💰🤣 14:20
🤫😆
Lifelong Detroit Pistons fan but use to enjoy watching those Hawks teams play back in the mid to late 80's. Back when cable only had Superstation TBS, WGN everyone seen majority of Bulls, and Hawks games around the country.
Great Great interview. Mr. Wilkins is a extremely humble man.
Nique takes a back seat to no one. My favorite player.
as a MJ fan i always respected Dominque and think he's underrated all-time... the Lakers took James Worthy of Wilkins, had he joined Show Time he may equaled Magic in terms of popularity with his high flying power game... maybe the greatest in game dunker in NBA history...
Salute for mentioning Aaron Gordon people forget he and Zack Lavine had one of the best if not second best slam dunk contest
what an incredible guest/episode, great stories/history/legend
Legendary ❤️👍🏾💪🏾
Wow. Lakers tried to get the ultra superteam. I wonder why they suppress these stories lol. Great Shiw as always
Thank you Q" for checking him l was waiting for him to ask the question l look for it every time l watch the show...
I Love how D-Miles didn't ask the question until it fit the context of the interview!! That shows that Ni'que is special..... and D-Miles is a great journalist!!
1982 !!! 21 CHAINS!! HUMAN HIGHLIGHT!! This Pod came right in time, bout to hop on 2K light one up and dive in
One of the Greatest Ever!!!
Was a privilege to watch Nique ,absolute legend on and off the court ❤&✊
Dominique very smooth and soft spoken.
Nah, you gotta start the pod with the iconic question lol, great episode!
he was star struck lmao, all good tho
No cap! 💯 🏀
If Michael Jordan ever decided to come on Knuckleheads, Q-Rich would pass out before the Podcast even starts.
My favorite all time player! Always will be

Man I miss this Era of the nba.its like once you have experienced the players from that era, there is not much that excites me about the NBA anymore.
Dope interview fellas! The Legend!!
