Pag tinignan rin natin ng maayos ang sitwasyon, sa kalahati ng applications nya hindi pa sya tinanggap ngunit nilagay sya sa listahan para makita kung paano nya mapapanatili o mapapataas ang kanyang grado (tulad ng scholarship nya sa UCONN na batch 2027 ang nakasulat). Isa ako sa mga tao na hindi inggit dahil napunta na ako sa ganyan na sitwasyon at normal yan sa lahat pilipino ka man o hinde. Sobrang daming rumors na nag spread dahil nilagay nya ang kanyang buhay sa social media, pero alalahanin rin natin na pag ginawa mo yun open for interpretation ang storya mo. The internet is a public domain depending on how you keep your personal matters and nor opinions. The media on the other hand failed to fact check anything in their first encounter with him but thats another story. Lastly, kung siya may kayang isigaw sa mga gantong plataporma na nagkaron sya ng scholarship sa ibang bansa, sana bigyan rin ng plataporma ang mga ibang tao na nakagawa na rin ng gantong achievement.
Yung mag apply ka pa lang sa mga university sa US mahirap na talaga, nagsikap yung pumasa ka pa sa admission reqs nila another level yun. Hindi imposible pero yung determination ng bata na makapenetrate dun sa process ng mga schools at maadmit is what we need to appreciate the most. Not just intelligence but perseverance can take you places.
just to clarify, he is not admitted (from what i know, i didnt check this story enough) but was just added to the batch of applicants who applied for a scholarship (like his UCONN application that said batch of 2027).

Pure envy, how sad. Each university in the US has a quota of international students admission so it is not impossible that he can get accepted to these universities he applied to- he can even apply to any Ivy league and could get accepted. I personally know someone who was accepted to Harvard with no backer from the government, just pure guts, grits and smartness.

Kung may naiinggit man o nanghusga dito sa batang ito ay dahilan na din ng paglabas ng statement ng kanyang school. Sila mismo ang nagsabing wala silang natanggap na confirmation galing sa mga University na nagpadala ng letter of acceptance sa kanya and why should they? Hindi naman sila ang nag apply sa Univesity. It was this young person who applied, therefore sya ang tatanggap ng mga acceptance letter. Maybe as a courtesy to the school he attended, sinabihan muna sana nya bago sya nagpost sa kanyang social media. Sa opinion ko lang, gustong sumawsaw ng kanyang school sa achievement ng batang ito. And for the news agencies not verifying his acceptance, tama, they should have fact checked first bago sila nagpakalat ng balita. The normal process ng publishing of information is, verify first from the source. Maraming fake news ang nagkalat at HINDI ka dapat gullible o madaling maniwala sa lahat ng fini feed sayo. I am not here to defend the criticisms made by people towards the validity of his achievements, but instead I am here to share my idea on what might have caused the outright "crab mentality". I think we all know that it is every filipino's dream to study abroad, may it be due to influences of movies, shows, or just possibly the desire to attain such quality of education from these institutions. A dream that never flourished. With that said, the shockwave Justin made was enough to make people wonder "how?" (This may possibly be heightened by knowing that these aspirants too did their best to be accepted, which ultimately leads to "i know I did everything" "but how come he got accepted in 30 schools?") (I am not implying that all those who aspired to study abroad show hostility towards Justin, instead I chose to highlight some possible ideas that possibly drove some critics to question the validity of Justin's achievement, specifically the idea of not doing enough and the idea of being left behind) What do you think? These schools probably waived their admission fee. He can apply to how many schools he wants, he can submit the same application, essay etc. If he knows the process it's easy to apply.

I think a big factor was his interview. It seemed suspicious the way he answered some questions, especially when he brought up the Avengers movie saying he was inspired by it while giggling about it. He said he wanted to communicate with animals. His ambitions just didn't seem feasible at this point of our technological advancements. Maybe in a hundred more years. I think people like to see actual work instead of just words. For instance, there were other similar young Filipino students who have already made inventions in their own fields and got the same opportunities. Or they showed stellar grades and performance at school. People easily believed them without any doubt. People just wanted proof and credentials. Also he kinda has an accent that lacks seriousness and conviction lol. That's why people thought he was joking. Not too mention, he was the one who reached out to media outlets, wanting to be interviewed. For what reason? He should just let his success speak for himself. But anyway, the truth has come out now and I wish him luck in his studies.
A lot of fake news out there, if not verified we are just as "gullible" as everyone else, madaling mauto kung baga. So that made an impression to people, because noone verified the information first before publishing which made it worse. Maraming tao na gusto makapag aral at magkaron ng scholarship sa ibat ibang bansa kahit ano man ang ating pinanggalingan, pero hindi natin kailangan i exaggerate ang ating katalinuhan. Pag tinignan rin natin ng maayos ang sitwasyon, sa kalahati ng applications nya hindi pa sya tinanggap ngunit nilagay sya sa listahan para makita kung paano nya mapapanatili o mapapataas ang kanyang grado (tulad ng scholarship nya sa UCONN na batch 2027 ang nakasulat). Isa ako sa mga tao na hindi inggit dahil napunta na ako sa ganyan na sitwasyon at normal yan sa lahat pilipino ka man o hinde. Sobrang daming rumors na nag spread dahil nilagay nya ang kanyang buhay sa social media, pero alalahanin rin natin na pag ginawa mo yun open for interpretation ang storya mo. The internet is a public domain depending on how you keep your personal matters and nor opinions. The media on the other hand failed to fact check anything in their first encounter with him but thats another story. Lastly, kung siya may kayang isigaw sa mga gantong plataporma na nagkaron sya ng scholarship sa ibang bansa, sana bigyan rin ng plataporma ang mga ibang tao na nakagawa na rin ng gantong achievement.

Yung mag apply ka pa lang sa mga university sa US mahirap na talaga, nagsikap yung pumasa ka pa sa admission reqs nila another level yun. Hindi imposible pero yung determination ng bata na makapenetrate dun sa process ng mga schools at maadmit is what we need to appreciate the most. Not just intelligence but perseverance can take you places.
just to clarify, he is not admitted (from what i know, i didnt check this story enough) but was just added to the batch of applicants who applied for a scholarship (like his UCONN application that said batch of 2027).

Each university in the US has a quota of international students admission so it is not impossible that he can get accepted to these universities he applied to- he can even apply to any Ivy league and could get accepted. I personally know someone who was accepted to Harvard with no backer from the government, just pure guts, grits and smartness.
This is not about Julian actually, this is about the way it was reported by the mainstream media which is a trusted source of "VERIFIED" information. Since they did not verify the information initially before throwing it out of to the public, they mishandled the whole technical process of news reporting, casted a doubt to critical thinkers out there who always FACT CHECK first any information before swallowing. Kung may naiinggit man o nanghusga dito sa batang ito ay dahilan na din ng paglabas ng statement ng kanyang school. Sila mismo ang nagsabing wala silang natanggap na confirmation galing sa mga University na nagpadala ng letter of acceptance sa kanya and why should they? Hindi naman sila ang nag apply sa Univesity. It was this young person who applied, therefore sya ang tatanggap ng mga acceptance letter. Maybe as a courtesy to the school he attended, sinabihan muna sana nya bago sya nagpost sa kanyang social media. Sa opinion ko lang, gustong sumawsaw ng kanyang school sa achievement ng batang ito. And for the news agencies not verifying his acceptance, tama, they should have fact checked first bago sila nagpakalat ng balita. I feel bad for this kid, he was forced to close his social media accounts dahil walang patid ang pang-bash sa kanya. In the end totoo naman pala ang mga sinabi nya. Congratulations!

This is so sad about this school kasi sila naman nagstart ng hearsay with their statement. Sad, parang gusto talaga ng school na makisawsaw. Ito ang mahirap sa. Pinas pag may tagumpay at pagsisikap ay ibinababa ng mga inggit. Kaya kung wala tayong ambag maging masaya nalang para sa Iba.
Kung magaling ka talaga sa school nyo at masipag mag aral at mapasahan mo ang mga given tests or exam sa ibang bansa. Hindi imposible na matanggap ka at mabigyan ng scholar kasi willing sila suportahan ang mga students na masipag mag aral or dedicated sa pag aral. I am not here to defend the criticisms made by people towards the validity of his achievements, but instead I am here to share my idea on what might have caused the outright "crab mentality".
I think we all know that it is every filipino's dream to study abroad, may it be due to influences of movies, shows, or just possibly the desire to attain such quality of education from these institutions. A dream that never flourished. With that said, the shockwave Justin made was enough to make people wonder "how?" (This may possibly be heightened by knowing that these aspirants too did their best to be accepted, which ultimately leads to "i know I did everything" "but how come he got accepted in 30 schools?")
(I am not implying that all those who aspired to study abroad show hostility towards Justin, instead I chose to highlight some possible ideas that possibly drove some critics to question the validity of Justin's achievement, specifically the idea of not doing enough and the idea of being left behind)

These schools probably waived their admission fee. He can apply to how many schools he wants, he can submit the same application, essay etc. If he knows the process it's easy to apply.

In short insecurity, envy and jealousy. Pinahaba mo pa. Marites talaga ang mga pinoy at mahilig humusga. Tapos isi sisi sa gobyerno bakit hindi sila umaangat eh ayaw mag bago ng ugali at mindset.

I think a big factor was his interview. It seemed suspicious the way he answered some questions, especially when he brought up the Avengers movie saying he was inspired by it while giggling about it. He said he wanted to communicate with animals. His ambitions just didn't seem feasible at this point of our technological advancements. Maybe in a hundred more years. I think people like to see actual work instead of just words. For instance, there were other similar young Filipino students who have already made inventions in their own fields and got the same opportunities. Or they showed stellar grades and performance at school. People easily believed them without any doubt. People just wanted proof and credentials. Also he kinda has an accent that lacks seriousness and conviction lol. That's why people thought he was joking. Not too mention, he was the one who reached out to media outlets, wanting to be interviewed. For what reason? He should just let his success speak for himself. But anyway, the truth has come out now and I wish him luck in his studies.
A lot of fake news out there, if not verified we are just as "gullible" as everyone else, madaling mauto kung baga. So that made an impression to people, because noone verified the information first before publishing which made it worse. If mainstream media did its job of verification, none of the doubts would have happened, and it is just a normal news making waves and trend, the only thing that lacks is the "verification" part, which they know they need to DO initially in the whole content creation process.

Fact check kasi Juan. Wala namang nagdududa sa talino ni Julian ang mali niya lang exaggerated yung 30 universities kuno na sinabi niya. Tsaka wag mo masabing bobo yung mga nagdududa sa 30 universities na pinasa sa scholarships since yung mga taong yun some of them also passed the scholarships and they knew kung ano ang system ng pag pasa ng scholarships, ibig sabihin may basehan sila para mag duda at hindi mga inggit na pinagsasabi mo Juan. Now, nagkaissue si Julian tapos nag fact checking out of 30 na sinabi niya na napasa niyang scholarships abroad ilan lang yung nag confirm? Not even half. Like I said there's no doubt na matalino si Julian, pero as long as hindi niya mapatunayan na pumasa talaga siya sa 30 university he's still a fraud.
