Don't you know 50cals do more damage than a 40mm Grenade Launcher on War Thunder. Which is odd as I loved .50cals before they buffed them. People who couldn't use them just sucked at the game. I never expected 50cals to 1 pass kill planes so you have to position yourself to do a good peppering or aim for weak locations like wings, rudders, elevators, and engines. Plane doesn't normally go down instantly but you can often cripple planes in a single pass allowing you to do a follow up. Of course that was before they buffed them, now they're freaking idiot proof. I found the 50cals so great because I often use things like the ju87B, or BF109E1, BF110 and heavily relied on weaker machine guns, you had to learn how to cripple instead of destroy planes to allow you to have a larger window to pepper.

You will often have fraction of a second on target, that's all the firing window you have to work with. This peppering idea is a pure construct of your mind. And in prop planes any target that lets you hang around behind them for so long would be dead anyway. Making it sound like much had changed.

People don't design things with the idea of "how convoluted can I make something to make it seem skillfull" no they design things to make them good and easy. In another game i use to play You could set flaps and trim the plane behind a row of tanks And "glide" in while giving rear hits 1 by 1 The torque from the twin Merlin engines would keep you from stall speeds with 10% throttle The plane could carry more weight of bombs than a 4 engine B-17 and could also use more range type of bombs as well Made of wood, all weather, rockets,bombs,machine guns, cannons, fuel pods, and faster then any other bomber types. This plane was so well known for its role That the Germans tried to copy it only to fail in the mixture of glues needed to keep it together 2 or 3 German made aircraft crashed before the project was canceled

the teams would play two games
who ever holds the city/objective in said city the longest wins
this game would be mixed with airforce ground and sea as the game could be played in a port town or have a river going through a city and the boats could gain positions where there team could respawn instead allowing the tanks to get back into battle faster.

Not sure if you know this trick but cut throttle to a near stall on a climb and keep pulling back on the stick to get behind targets easier, especially when you are in larger/heavier aircraft. Just a tip...
