I have just returned from a trip as a passenger on the conro ship Timca from Antwerp to Finland. I recognize a lot of the bridge. But of course it was a fantastic experience that I can recommend to everyone.
I've known about Diego Garcia Island when I learned about this base from a movie. I am surprised though of Rodrigues Island, they look like French Territories in the past. Never heard of it before. Take care!
The Rodrigues Island, along with Mauritius and Reunion were French Islands and they still have close relationships. Diego Garcia is claimed by the UK and mostly rented by the US. Think of it as a huge aircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean that doesn’t move. I have a friend that works for NASA in their imagery section. One of the Astronauts who took pictures of Diego Garcia from space asked him to send him copies of his Diego Garcia photos. He didn’t have a clue that it was an island and not a person. So he spent several days looking in thousands of photos for a guy named Diego Garcia. Finally he asked the Astronaut for help and he clued him in. So now on his wall at work, he has a signed copy of the best of the photos from the Astronaut thanking him for finding him the picture of “his friend, Diego Garcia”.
