UPDATE: I read the first few chapters and was finding it horrendously pretentious and came back to rewatch your review to decide whether it would be worth me continuing and yeah no BYE! It really sucks that I'm very interested in the topic but the author keeps getting in their own way of making an interesting book about it. Giving me major "i'm better than you, all my opinions are objectively correct" vibes plus the questionable feminism even so early on in the book that i can only imagine it gets far worse.
I've just finished a re-read of Assassins Apprentice and had such a good time with I have had to dive straight into the next one, I couldn't wait until March 😂 such good doggos 😭❤ ☀️

For me, I think doing your Bingo Board updates in the Tops and Bottoms lists makes the most sense, but also you can just talk about those updates all the time if you want :)

I think a lot of people just try to focus on the positive in books and gloss over the bad stuff thus creating a false image. I've seen some do this for this book, mentioning flaws in a sentence or side note.

I picked up the wrong Robin Hobb book to parasoially buddy read with you. I read a blurb, remembered the word "ederlings' and the name Robin Hobb and the old-timey font cover and bought it. 3 chapters deep, I'm committed....but it's the wrong series!
Was looking forward to someone properly reviewing Monsters. I have heard so much hype for that book, but was looking at it with suspicion based on some online reviews. Some of which were a lot more salty than this. And it did give me the impression that it was making excuses for abusers because they are famous/she likes "art" (whatever that means) they've made.
When you were talking about the Aaron Falk series I kept wondering why it seemed so familiar. Then I went to my Goodreads and realized that, though I had never heard of Jane Harper, I tried to read Exiles at the beginning of January. I solved the mystery on page 8 and DNF'ed on page 30. Painfully boring and predictable.
I'm looking at an audio version for No Visible Bruises so it does exist.I'm surprised it's not more readily available worldwide.Exhiles was disappointing but I still gave it 4 stars so idk.Call it nostalgia lol.
The fact that someone can say, without any type of satire/irony/etc that Elizabeth Taylor didn’t have any issues and was in fact that cause of people’s I mean men’s issues is mind boggling. Anyway, I look forward to your, dare I say, fangirling, over the better books in February 😉😊
@35:30 I work in a support role for university professors, and I'm currently working with a person who said, before meeting to develop multiple online courses, "I think online learning dulls the interaction," and said that students only choose online learning for convenience. There are so many layers to what's wrong with this, and I won't bog your comments down with it, but this person teaches courses in a field that is predominantly remote workers today, and I feel bad that students are getting a less modern education because some people want to pretend advertising is still like an episode of Mad Men.
Ugh, Erotic Vagrancy sounds the worst. I know you mentioned in a previous video that you were looking forward to reading it. Sorry it was such a let down!

Like author needs to admit she likes stan life, not fan life. DV is hard for me to read. Not because I've been involved but I know so many who have. Plus, I grew up in Atlanta, where partner violence is so common on the news. Martina McBride's Independence Day song still sends shivers.
