It feels so good to have it all organized. I just did it again myself. Love it
Also, remember to always have a medium sized tub with un-sorted pieces in it that u can rake ur hand through while building as to come across pieces that u might not have thought to use in a particular situation and that will work better. Having ALL of ur parts sorted can sometimes damage ur creativity

The great thing, with the space in front of the technic bins, you could actually put two more stack on bins in front. That's the way I had mine....parts that weren't needed often were stored in the back and ones that i touched on the regular were up front. Still easily accessible as you just remove the bin in front. Doubles your storage space. I recently moved my parts from the office downstairs to the walk in closet upstairs....this closet will be my Lego room lol. I have stack on's, and drawers and a desk in the closet....I have a computer that I'm building my Brick Stock inventory so that I can see what I have and where it's being kept in my inventory. This will also be useful for when doing part outs and having to put items in the proper place. I hate to go and pull parts and not being able to find the ones that I need, when I know that i have them. It becomes work, and not so enjoyable. Like you mentioned, it's so nice to just be able to lay hands, Quickly, on the parts that you need....I believe it makes the build more enjoyable. I already have a list of modulars that i want to work on, but I am making myself finish the "work" first. ha ha.. I really enjoy your set up!!!

Great job! I feel so inspired by the work you've done on your parts storage. I just started collecting in the summer of 2021. I don't have as many parts but I've already gotten to the place where it is frustrating to put away all the extra after a build. Hmmm...

Thanks for the very detailed tour of your part storage. It's nice to see you making improvements all the time. Since you mentioned a trip to Ikea, I'd recommend looking into Samla boxes. I think you can use the space next to the two 3-drawer towers. I reckon you can fit 4 or 5 11L Samla boxes there (£5 each on Ikea including lids). They can be used to get the rarely used stuff and large parts out of the way as they can take a lot of stuff. If you bag them separately inside the box you should still be able to find them relatively easy if need be. Just my 2p of course. Great progress regardless and keep up the good work!

Lovely storage and great sorting! I came to the conclusion I need to do some more efficient sorting and some building as well, because my cabinets are overflowing...
This is probably going to take the better part of the weekend because I got about 5.400 parts from Bricklink orders in backlog to be washed, dried, and sorted.
PS. I feel the same way, being overwelmed about the amount of parts I have sometimes.,,

Your lego room is brilliant! I love the organization and thought you put into it!
I use Husky shelves by Edsel corporation. Each shelf can hold 1000 pounds. I have my lego in these containers found at a crafts store that have 8 slots per container. I also sorted my lego by colour as I found it too hard to find a specific colour amongst all the white and yellow lego I prefer not to use. I tried to use the usual storage containers for lego that you use and are popular with people transporting lego to conventions, but found I kept knocking them over, creating a mess of lego that needed sorting yet again. My containers I use aren't as convenient to get lego out, because I do have to take them off the shelf to open the lid, but I can get the lego out of them. I also had a problem getting lego out of the other containers. I have no idea why! Its me! LOL

Great job in your organization. We all face these issues in our organization of our lego parts. An ongoing development. Can you please let me know where you get your magnets for your board of minifigures. What a great way to display them. Just makes sense. Thank you have a great day.

Yes the magnets are from Viking Direct: www.viking-direct.co.uk/en/niceday-magnets-30mm-black-3-x-3-cm-p-6851646
And then I glue inverted 2x2 black slopes against them to add the minifigures on top of :)

I don't think it's wrong. I had mine sorted by colour to start with, but I got too many parts so it started being really difficult to find things. But everyone does it their own way :)

how you store and sort your LEGO parts depends on what you have. There is only one rule (trust me, I have 5000 kg of lego (five tons:) - if you don;t know where it is, it is like you don;t have it. Additionaly, everything should be in closed container. All containers should be transparent so you can see what is in them, but also storage room should be protected from UV lights (daylight). Drawers are good only for beginers, and if you plan to make your hobby a profitable business (I am guessing this is your desire, to make it in social media), you need to start building, and to build you need to have perfect storage and sortying system - ebcause to plan, you need to have in your mind what you have. I see a lot of potential - you are an AFOL, you are eastetically atractive female (important for success in social media), and you made the first step - opened a youtube channel :) But I would advise you to invest in sound as much as possible, and only after that is video quality and lighting qualty, and finally in editing process. Stay strong. I earn one apartment every two and half years, and I haven;t even started doing social networks - so LEGO bricks will reward your effort. Good luck - and I am here for any advices (I have 3 2000 m2 events touring EU in this moment, so logistics are my speciality:)
