  • Levi's goes to great lengths to give their jeans an aged, vintage look. Their newest method creates "broken in" jeans in about 90 seconds. Using lasers.
    In the past, Levi's pre-aged jeans were the product of human workers,, a process that took a lot of elbow grease and about 30 minutes per pair.

    *Is that authentic?* No.
    I have jeans that I bought as deep blue and black and worked in them for years, getting them nicked and scuffed and scratched, etc. When I wore then to night clubs, etc. the people who wore machine-distressed jeans turned away in disgust at my honestly and accidentally distressed jeans, as if they still smelled from the hard work that distressed them.
    Pretension hates Authenticity.

      Every hole and mark has a story on genuine worn in jeans. I am looking at mine right now and remembering the night that a guy used my Levi's crotch to stub his cigarette out when their were no ashtrays at a party, LOL.

      I don’t think it’s pretension that made people recoil at the smell of your balls.

    Levi’s is awesome. Such an interesting company history and they’re still innovating.

    I understand the concept of fading the color to look better but I will never get why people purposely want holes in their clothes

    I just can't understand why people want to buy jeans with holes in them. They look terrible (to me anyway).

      I know omg, they make people look scruffy and ratchet no offence lol. but like you I really don’t understand why people think it looks... well, good..

      Its the hobo look. They use indigo die on their teeth too for the complementary crackhead look.

      Because millennials are so impatient! (It does seem a bit like buying a brand new car pre-dinged, huh?)

    I bet the laser ones are not as soft as the real broken in version

    • @drwisdom1
      @drwisdom1 2 года назад

      Actually the softness is based on the quality and thickness of the cotton. Sadly, today's denim isn't as good as with vintage jeans.

    You have to wear in your own holes and create your own memories along the way.
