thanks for watching everyone :) wrote “chaos is the best co-producer” on my whiteboard while cutting this one, one of the realest things Big Marty’s ever said…
Everytime I watch one of Jon's beat-making videos, I'm wondering where it will go and then, halfway through the video, I'm like 'he's good, he's really good'. And then I just bang my head to the beat for the rest of the video.
this one is on another level. every element of the beat just complements the others so nicely. its so eye opening seeing you work based on the feel and not trying to force anything
I don't make music at all, I just put these videos on for creative inspiration for other things. There is something special in watching creators create. Thank you, Jon
Man I really love your production and flow! Incredible brother. Definitely freeing as someone above stated. You've been wonderful to discover as I'm getting back to my creative zone! Sending lots of love.
I’m not exactly sure how to phrase this, but the way your beats are put together always seem to yield so many opportunities. Like you can add/subtract tracks and move things around however you see fit to create different parts of the song. You just have a very strong grasp on arrangement and structure and you make it look so easy! Anyways, been a fan since rap album one and love the channel.
this is true diy shit honestly, all completely fully freeform and yet structured i really love it when you can tell tht whoever is producing has a lot of crazy passion & love for the act of producing itself
Almost always get inspired to cook after watching your content, and you are one of the legends of the beat scene but come off very humble. Salute to you fam🙏🏾✊🏾💚
another beautiful beat, this one really inspires me to work with a bit more restraint. that high plucked part is so perfect and works so well because of its sparseness
I made a sound with halftime and kontakts retro flute sound, while making chords and came up with one of the most spacious loops ive ever made. It only has three chords in total but its so lofi and basic that it just reminds if an astronaut smoking weed on the moon
at this point youre my fav producer uploading on youtube. your workflow is so freeing to watch whenever im feeling blocked
That’s the best thing I can hear
Agreed
100% agree
I keep trying to find that freedom in my work myself

Great edit Schnoodle. Smashing them out pukka every time.
We call those happy accidents
Yeah that particular line hit me too.

That’s pretty much how it goes for me too. It’s like walking a tight rope until I find the baseline lol
insane bass line. simple but restrained and just a little different than you think it will be. love it doggy
Soon as I figured out the baseline I knew where it was gonna go
"I never lived a day in my life, without asking for it back"
Man passing fancies is an absolute MASTERPIECE. 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Big Marty really knows how to lay it down
this one is on another level. every element of the beat just complements the others so nicely. its so eye opening seeing you work based on the feel and not trying to force anything
That’s the intent. Let the music go where it needs to go and get out of the way
Loved how you went from the simple chord progression @1:41 to making it sound so dirty and amazing at @2:24
your vids always inspires me
Every time I feel no motivation to open Ableton, you post one of these videos and inspire me to try a different technique. So thank you.
That’s awesome to hear
"It is a sampler and I use it as such" that killed me 😂
Hahah
That little octave down on the bass is killing it (in the good type of way), keep it up Big Marty
Yeah that was feeling good at the time. Glad it worked out

Huge advocate of changing the timbre of any sample you're working with. I tend to do it more on drums as well.
This beat gave me goosebumps, in the best way possible, love what you're doing!

I’m gonna try this technique of sampling myself tomorrow. Thanks for inspiring me 🔥

As Flea said. Anything worth doing good takes a little chaos.

This is like one of the best OT channels to watch on a Saturday morning with a cup of coffee.
Such a daily inspiration for everyone here, including me 🔥 thanks for the good tips, also happy to see Johnny Bazookatone in the background jajaja ;)

I didn't think it could get better than the previous videos
Constantly trying to make them better with the help of @schnoodlevideo
MMM TOO DAMN GOOD
Dope vibe...
Thanks for listening
@@jonmakesbeats love your channel and your open mindness helps me out when I start sampling
It really is the best co producer, so we’ll said. Chaos is like a bottomless well of ideas you just need the right analytical mind to sift through it.
Thanks as always big Marty! Feels very bigmode, send my regards to Eugene
Dunkey needs to hit me up
You dropped a lot of wisdom in this one. Great video, great series
Chaos has a limitless supply of ideas. Just gotta squint a bit

Sweet mashing on the Octatrack! Awesome beats you got going! Love your clips! How do you like the Iridium?
Iridium is good for sure

Its crazy what you can get out of the new sp404 mk2
Would love to hear billy woods, elucid, earl sweatshirt etc on these beats 🔥🔥
5 man marty
Love watching you make beats its very inspirational. But i need you to release more raps also ok?
Is that the same drum loop from Afraid of Us??
I don’t think so
I thought that too, reverb tails sound the same.
