- One of our absolute favorite parts of Formula Drift pro cars, is the fact that there’s ZERO restriction on what motor/chassis combo you want to run. So while you need close to four-digit power numbers to stay competitive, it’s all up to you on how you’re gonna make that power - and how you put it to the ground. Our dude Odi Bakchis is a beast of a driver, as well as a suspension engineer, and car builder, so you know his pro car is going to be on point.

Saw this car as a little kid over ten years ago at a formula drift event. Can't forget that paint job.
The weight centralisation explanation around @10.30 was very good. Given lighter lower and balanced weight is beneficial in time attack car but the 'reduced polarisation' of weight affecting flickability makes a lot of sense for drift.
Odi is at the top of my 5 favorite drivers. Incredible driving, very good looking cars and he's a tinkerer. If I ever get the chance to go to a FD event I would wait all day to get a photo if I had to.
I never used to like odis driving but i swear evry time i watch a video with this guy i learn something new. And after the doughnut feature i do have more respect for him his driving and his builds

I think Odi Bakchis' car is an S14.5 because his car is base on a S14 but with an s15 body panel but, I might be wrong.
That's his old competition car, his current one is an S15. His S14.5 only has the S15's front end, everything else is the S14's.

Because when his car drifts, it squats more than the average drift car. He set his coilovers to be on the soft side, so when it squats while drifting, the wheels will be at zero camber, achieving maximum grip.

Texas Speed and Performance built the engine, same as Matt Field's Corvette.

@@Sir.VicsMasher all I know is the only person either reference when talking about the engine is Texas Speed, so I'm guessing it's wherever they get them so idk. They tour they're facility on they're Frenemies channel so maybe you figure it out there.

Odi is Lithuanian (Lithuania is a LHD country) and given that he's living in the U.S (also a LHD country), it only makes sense he competes in this car in LHD since it's what he's familiar with.

An the stock Nissan engine is good for what ? There's only roughly 10% left of a S15.
The SR20's stock block can't handle high power outputs reliably enough. The highest I've seen is 600+.
