@@asphaltcowboy7567 Lol what an idiot, people who likes Paul is because of his talent, and it was neither Paul nor Yoko who broke the band, it was John, and it had nothing to do with jealousy.
I have always found that version to be among the least listenable Beatle/Harrison songs, especially as compared to the final product. Glad you can enjoy it. Lucky you! Another one that I don't care for in demo form, but love in its finished form, is "Not Guilty." Despite having taken far less time to conceive and complete, the previous/opening track on the _George Harrison_ album, "Love Comes To Everyone," is one of my all-time favorites from George.
I'm not a huge fan of the Esher demo version but the acoustic studio version that has a slower tempo as opposed to the Esher version which is way too fast paced which ultimately makes it less emotionally impactful.
They're probably saving it for another moneymaker or perhaps all 4 didn't vote it in (They have to have Paul, Ringo, Olivia & Yoko's yes-vote for every previously unreleased track since George died).
I'm looking forward to the upgrade, I heard on a Beatles podcast that they fixed some of the issues with overdubs being out of sync that were on the old bootlegs.
I've had "Child Of Nature" for many years, and it's a tragedy that it wasn't released in this form, it's one of the most beautiful tracks they ever made, and I can listen to and love it thousands of times.
As an audio engineer I'll say the changes are not subtle. I bet they mastered these new mixes digitally in 7.1 the bass is so much deeper you can feel the space in the room the white album 2018 is THE mix
I am 63 years YOUNG LOL , I grew up with the Beatles and I can honestly say that I love everything the wrote and recorded. The beauty and joy that has been visited upon us over the past few years are the reissued Sgt Peppers , The White Album and Abbey
My favorite demo is Revolution, and my favorite outtake is the unnumbered rehearsal of Revolution, with relatively clean electric guitar instead of the heavy fuzz guitar on the final version. Awesome stuff!

I am really having a great time with the super deluxe version. Thanks for a great channel.… also By the way… “Pathos” … is pronounced as PAY thoss- rhymes with LOSS
Another fine review and I have yet to delve into the material. I went for the CD set but know I am having second thoughts about getting the vinyl. This is nice prep material for a week long digestion of the Esher material during Turkey week ;)
The one thing I noticed was exactly what you said - more detail without being busy. I also found the guitars really had quite a bit of crunch that never made it to the original mix. As I said in your other video, the other outtakes are fantastic and so good to go through, for what is my favorite album of all time.
Fun channel and really great material man, keep it up! One point to make about these demos; John, Paul & George did their own demos here...each track is a pure solo recording to show each other the tunes they were planning on doing for the new record.
Fantastic review! And also, I get goosebumps just looking at your vintage Yamaha equipment! Literally, seeing the close-up of the headshell gives me chills of nostalgia. I so loved my Yamaha equipment! Should have kept it and had it refurbed! Anyway, thanks for this review. Seriously considering making the purchase, although at a less expensive level.
This is an excellent review. Thumbs up! However, I've had these recordings for a few years on one of the many White Album bootlegs that have been around for a long time and while they piqued my curiosity for a couple of listens, that was all I needed. Its like the deleted scenes on a DVD - nice to see but ultimately they don't stand more than one spin and the finished product is far superior without them. In my opinion.
How could anyone keel up with Paul .. as great as they all were but honestly ...it’s not human , the output of this guy is beyond what I can even comprehend !
I can't wait to hear your take on the early takes from the studio. When you get to Helter Skelter first version Take 2, compare it to the Anthology 3 version of Helter Skelter. At first, I couldn't place where I had heard it before, but this version just feels like a complete 12-minute take of the song and it's absolutely beautiful, so bluesey. I love all the Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da tracks on this album and how they show the reggae roots. Take 3 is my favorite at the moment. That Asher demo of Dear Prudence was so beautiful. I had heard the stories of how they came up with the song, but hearing it come from John's mouth was a magical experience. Also 100% worth checking out are the instrument backing tracks... They are amazing, clear, and iconic. It is so wonderful to have a window into the more raw side of the Beatles during this period. I hope we see many more releases like this
Oh, and if you think the Esher demo of While My Guitar Gently Weeps is fast paced and weird, wait until you hear the hendrix-style version that is third version take 27. It is a major difference. And the acoustic version that they have on Spotify is so heart-wrenching with the origin and everything. Even the mic check around 40 seconds in feels like an organic part of the song. I know you are mostly a vinyl Enthusiast, but I highly recommend listening to the studio sessions on Spotify. I've been blown away by almost every single track. There are jam sessions that just make me happy to feel like I'm sitting in a room and listening to them and provide us... it's good to have such a transgenerational album right now
After looking at a couple of Wikipedia articles, it looks like the Anthology 3 version of Helter Skelter was cut down from this version 1 take to recording. I cannot recommend that song enough it has the most beautiful crescendo. I do kind of wish there were more takes of Revolution 9, but I recognize that that was a Lennon based collage and that we probably don't need to no the artist process but just appreciate the final work.
Overall i like the remix, clarity, bass and drums improved. I did find a few song i prefer the original mix. USSR seems the stereo field on remix brought too center. Birthday i like the original L/R separation of Paul's vocals. The new mix drown out the Horns on Revolution 1. Helter Skelter new mix starts dull..and ends the same way..i like the Loud "blisters" ending on original. Also right before Ringo's "blisters" john can be heard laughing and says "how's that" has been eliminated from remix. Overall 90% improved.
Martin said, going in, that they were going to adhere to to the basic mixdowns of the original (channel separation, panning, etc.). So, this wasn't going to be as "drastic" as SGT. PEPPER from last year. Is anybody else like me, in that, do you really want to hear something so different than the way you've heard it for the last 50 years??

The Esher demo's are The Beatles building the songs as they go through them. Each person is vocalizing the parts they hear in the songs but have yet to be recorded.
Thematically "Mother Nature's Son" and "Child of Nature" were the same. Lennon's song was yanked from the contenders for the album. Why did he let that happen? Don't know. The similarity of titles wasn't an excuse. "Sun King" and "Here Comes The Sun" appeared both in "Abbey Road", and Lennon re-titled his song to avoid repetition.
Beatles Unplugged- Could have been released as a single album by taking the best of. I like it as a sit back in a comfy chair in the middle of my surround sound with my favourite beverage. Different versions, like hearing new Beatles songs.
G Price good point. Some had been released on Anthology though. I guess they could have just withheld them then and later just released this as an album, like you said

I always love hearing new stuff that's been dug up by my favorite bands but my only qualm with the Esher demos and various outtakes is the handful of tracks that were already released on the Anthology 3 album. (Same goes for the Sgt. Pepper outtakes) However I assume that in some cases there were no other versions, especially concerning the Esher demos. All in all I dig the hell out of it and can only hope that they possibly have enough material to make an awesome Abbey Road set next year.
I'm excited to see what kind of rerelease Let It Be will get. We already have "Let It Be... Naked", but it'll be cool to see Giles put his own spin with it. Who knows what kinds of jams and unreleased songs and demos will be on that.
personally I'm not too concerned about these demos, it's always cool to see the inner workings of the band and how they went about making their songs, but I'm more bothered about how amazing the new mixes sound, I really had a bad opinion of this album in the past due to how muddy some songs sound on my 2014 mono LP, but with some good headphones and a TIDAL subscription I've never heard the album so good
Just goes to show just how talented they were when they leave 'off' songs like Junk and Child of Nature. They could be considered lost Beatles classics. For me Junk could easily have replaced Wild Honey Pie, in terms of general length of the song and quality. But in the end Junk slotted in very nicely on Paul's first solo outing. Both songs have such amazing melody's, just brilliant. I wish I had know about these demo's when I studied at Esher College way back in 1995-96. I was into The Beatles then but knew nothing about these demo's, or indeed that George used to live there. I would have tried to track down the house. But back then the net wasn't a thing and I was a good few years off from owning my first computer. My how things have changed. Great review, keep them coming :).
I found the White Album a couple of months ago along with Dr Peppers they are perfect looks like new the White jacket got a split on the edge . Dr. Pepper is like new jacket and album .
What you're hearing on hearing on the preliminary versions of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, I believe is a time signature difference. The preliminary version that you played is in 3/4 time (waltz time) and the final version is in 4/4 time. Interestingly, if I remember right, George also wrote Baby's In Black, And I'm Feeling Blue (or whatever the title is), in 3/4 (waltz) time. I Me Me Mine is also in waltz time, for part of the tune, then it switches to 4/4 time.
Duderino, it would be fantastic if you made a video about the differences (in case there are) between the versions in this new release and the versions that apperead on the Anthology 3. BTW, Child Nature sounds a lot like Lennon's Jealous Guy
The Esther Demos...is A Dolls House...I had this on a German Import on the Orden Label...it was a good recording but not as good as it sounds now....I am surprised.been for years EMI or Capital didnot release this as a official album...it would of sold millions!!!
Two of my favourites from the Esher demos (that I actually prefer to the originals): Blackbird and Revolution. They're such bright and sparky versions....
I think it was more of a "Cleaning up" of the Dynamics, I agree with that. Let's face it, they had to "mix down" quite a few times in the mastering of the album originally. Now with an infinite number of tracks, Giles could really "open up" the final mix, and it seems to "Breathe" so much more.
Cool! Have you listened to the outtakes on the super deluxe edition? I also loved the Dear Prudence mix. Dear Prudence is my favorite song on the White Album.
I just got Mine...this is so cool...this was Called...The Beatles A Dolls House...in 1968...this was released in Germany and in Denmark...this would of been a hit if EMI released it in the UK and USA...

I saw your show live many times in the WWOR studio in Secaucus, NJ.
Flattered you think so but never had a show on WWOR! @@bradwilliams7145
Have you never listened to Anthology? Many of the “takes” you’re so amazed with were released on Anthology. Still, thanks for your review.
I'm excited to see what kind of rerelease Let It Be will get. We already have "Let It Be... Naked", but it'll be cool to see Giles put his own spin with it. Who knows what kinds of jams and unreleased songs and demos will be on that.
Great analysis, awesome review, really enjoyed this video!
It's a great remix, but I don't agree it isn't different ... it's hugely different for me! Do an AB listen! :)
That's what I'm saying...
personally I'm not too concerned about these demos, it's always cool to see the inner workings of the band and how they went about making their songs, but I'm more bothered about how amazing the new mixes sound, I really had a bad opinion of this album in the past due to how muddy some songs sound on my 2014 mono LP, but with some good headphones and a TIDAL subscription I've never heard the album so good
wait so which version of the album did he get in vinyl. I just want the one with the album and the esher demos but but I can’t find it on amazon
Child of Nature is a revelation
Child of nature became jealous guy
Excellent review. I'd love to see you compare this mix to the 2009 remaster.
Love this channel, been waiting for this one!!
The Esther Demos...is A Dolls House...I had this on a German Import on the Orden Label...it was a good recording but not as good as it sounds now....I am surprised.been for years EMI or Capital didnot release this as a official album...it would of sold millions!!!
I’d love to know whose idea it was to slow down While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
Isn’t it amazing to hear how they made the songs and without the music
I always enjoy your reviews! Well done!
AntHoney it's beautiful, and so are you
I just got Mine...this is so cool...this was Called...The Beatles A Dolls House...in 1968...this was released in Germany and in Denmark...this would of been a hit if EMI released it in the UK and USA...
it might be an unpopular opinion but the esher demo version of revolution is my favorite version of the song.
It’s E-sher.! From someone who lives here.
This is A Dolls House..... Fantastic it is!!!?... white album is my all time favorite!!!!😊
Any copies of Esher demos I have heard, had some annoying talking in "Child of Nature," and somehow they removed it.
The Beatles. 👍
They were really rather good, weren't they?
I have the Super Deluxe, and it’s just stunning. Oh and it’s a Blu Ray bonus disc, not DVD, I was surprised to find it was a Blu Ray. But this box set is amazing, great pictures and essays.
Jackie Lomax rocks tho....and junk is beautiful...tru dat
What’s the New Mary Jane sounds like a Syd Barrett song. So much so that I’m pretty sure John noticed Syd’s writing during the Pepper sessions.
