Rescue at Sea | 2023 Tribute to the 8th Coast Guard District

The Coast Guard Foundation recognizes the Coast Guard rescuers who saved three recreational fishermen from shark-infested waters off Empire, Louisiana, on Oct. 9 2022 after their boat capsized in rough weather. The story of the fishermen’s survival and the daring rescue made headlines and captivated news viewers late last year.
