For me, I'd rather the EGO version of this multi tool (I have their multi tool, mower, etc ... good for using the same batteries for several tools). But it does cost more. Assuming it's built well enough, this less expensive version may be ok for some light-use folk.

Wish tool batteries were standard, like AAA, D, etc. Consumer gets trapped with a brand if they want to maximize battery value

Once some of my electric lawn tools start getting beat I’m definitely gonna get this.

Yo, Jesse... Love the beard. I've been listening on apple podcasts, and haven't seen it until now. Congrats on looking more like me! (Except that I lack your beautiful curls, unfortunately.)

I need this. I have a corded string now and want to get rid of it but am not sure which family of tools I want to share battery. Good review!

I’ve been leaving my EGO Battery on charger while not in use on an off for 4-5 years without issue.

It doesn't seem to be a problem in our testing to leave the batteries on the charger. The chargers are "smart" enough to charge up the battery and stop at full voltage. In a perfect world, you would charge them to 80% or so for longer periods of non-use but who is really gonna do that? :)
