Subhanallah. I am struggling to get career properly going but...looking back, if I started making 100k at age 22 (decade+ ago) like my classmates...wallahi I would have dived deep into haraam and destroyed myself. The person I was back then, my imaan was a thread ready to snap. Allah knows best. Salam laykum.

Dr. Omar's question was "Why was Surah An-Nur given this name?"
A. جاءكم من ٱللَّهِ نور وكتـٰب مبين
B. الله نور السموات والأرض
C. يريدون أن يطفـٔوا نور ٱللَّه بأفوههم
The answer is B. الله نور السموات والأرض from 24:35, Nur
A is from 5:15, Ma'idah
C is from 9:32 Tawbah
Especially after listening to these explanations in those surahs, and at the same time seeing what's happening to our brothers n sisters in gaza now we should not feel helpless...
All the actions of the enemies n disbelievers will only increase their faith n iman!❤
The qualities Dr. Omar is talking about, he said something similar in a previous Khutbah of his (or was it the series the Firsts, my fovourite btw) it stuck with me and I’ve reflected on the Surah different ever since.

As much as I enjoy and benefit from watching your content I have a small yet sincere suggestion to make. It is always best if we avoid free mixing. It will be more comfortable for you to do the show and for us to watch if there were only male sheiks in the same room. If you absolutely have to invite a female sheikha it would be better to do it through zoom. It is only about what you convey. I don't think our beloved Prophet saw would approve of this approach. Is the answer for Surah An-Nur given its name because of Ayat An-Nur?
Yes I think so
But also because the rules in surah Noor raise the human being in value and akhlak, so it becomes noor for whoever embraces them.

Oh
رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Transliteration:
Rabbi awzi’nee an ashkura ni’mata kal lateee an’amta ‘alaiya wa ‘alaa waalidaiya wa an a’mala saalihan tardaahu wa adkhilnee birahmatika fee ‘ibaadikas saaliheen
Translation:
“My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants.”
