      I agree. This was an album that got played in my high school days alot. I think if this album had been released a year earlier before the grunge scene had started it would had been an absolute monster. Its definitely an overlooked classic in my opinion.

      Yeah, I can see it. I don't think it has had enough influence in my opinion, but this is certainly a wellspring of inspiration and a pretty flawless album. I'll give it a certified diamond status.

      I loved The Real Thing so when I saw this album for sale on cassette when I was 10, I had to have it. My mom almost didn't buy it for me because of the parental advisory label but I whined until she did😆So glad I did. Its one of the albums that shaped the way I think about music.

    I've heard once about Faith No More, I listened to one of their songs and I didn't really connect much.
    I'm sitting here now at 3AM in full dark, their name came to my head, I wanted to give another shot and came to this album..
    This is one of the best albums I've ever heard, I never could really listen to a full album w/ much patience and they really put everything here!!!!
    It's insane how much elements they put into this, his voice, the bass groove, the aggressive drums, the freaking synths.. holy shit.
    And they always come with an idea on how to surprise you in each song..
    Pure masterpiece.

    I learned about FNM a year ago, at the age of 36. I don't know how I missed them, but this band is now easily my favorite, and this album is a classic. Better late than never I suppose!

      I always knew about them in the 90s had Mr Bungles disco Volante album when it came out its a mindtrip that album is lol but never really gave faith No More much of a chance back then,guess I was listening to alot of other metal and prog and industrial stuff then but here I am now and this album is really good especially for the year it came out.

    1992 in the middle of grunge popularity, quick evolution in rap, electronic, metal and fusions. Angel Dust, Beastie's check your head and Ratm debut, those 3 albums in particular condense the best of those years and whose influence is one of the most resonant.

      @@paulkarp958 at least you’re far from having bad taste. In my opinion. I miss the times when music was a lot better. It could take you on thrilling rides, to far away places, creating memories that last forever. I still remember everything about all mentioned albums..from either buying it or receiving as a gift to unwrapping them and popping them in the the cassette player and reading the cover front to back then back to front….hungry for any info it’d provide. It was like winning the lotto when they had the lyrics. And amazing that I never ripped one cover during all of those years where I was not only a teenager but so were my friends…I mean ALLLLL the times those covers were touched and opened and read and closed them opened again. Over and over and over. Lol. Good times.

    Angel Dust remains one of Mike Patton's best albums ever, he's done A LOT of great music since, but AD has some perfect mix of groove and heaviness, and that's saying just a little. 30 years later and it remains a masterpiece.

    Bought it on cassette when it came out. I didn't get it on first listen, but I just kept playing it in the car that whole summer, and revealed itself, and soon couldn't stop playing it. That's the album that taught me about expectations & preconceptions when approaching anticipated albums.

      I had the cassette too, but it didn't have "Easy" on it. Later, I bought "Easy" with the 2 rhinos humping on the cover (remember when they used to make cassette singles, with a "B side"?). I started liking the B-side "Das Schutzenfest" more and more as I was taking German in high school at the time. "Hund weg, Arschloch!" 😁

    An old Bo of mine back in Okla introduced me to this band back in the 1989-90 time frame, and I really enjoyed much of their music and still do.
    He had also introduced me to one of the greatest guitar players of all time: Steve Satriani and I totally fell in love with him and Satriani's music.

    Discovered this album when I was about 12 or 13.. been in my top 5 favorites since. You can just play the when album over and over. Its great.

    Amazing album ! Played the Real Thing album nonstop in heavy rotation while in high school and then Bought “Angel Dust” the day it was released and got to see them play it on tour live at 86 street club show in Vancouver !

    This album is an absolute masterpiece and was a few years ahead of its time,....But I was obsessed with it back in the day, A lot of people just didn't get it at the time, a little too extreme when compared to The Real Thing.

    When I first bought this album I only played it a few times because it didn't sound as accessible as The Real Thing but listening to it again I've a better appreciation of it now.
