I really like the sound of some of the features they're implementing. Anything they can do to STRONGLY incentivize squads to actually work as a unit will be big win.
Surprisingly it's the SUPPORT roles that make me the most interested here. I haven't given up on Hell Let Loose yet but I realized I am just not taking well to the fast twitch aspects of the game. The idea of being able to help my team in other non direct combat ways appeals to me. My grandfather was a radio man in Vietnam. Might be interesting to do that.
I'm really interested in how their flight model is going to be. Are we going to have something more akin to squad or Arma? Personally I am hoping it's more like Armas model as it's an overall better model and would be easier for more pilots to learn and get accustomed to.
Really cool! I love the idea of expanding non-combat roles. One of my favourite things to do in hell let loose is supporting squad leaders with logistical supply runs.
I have been wanting a game like Squad that focuses on the importance of the Radio Man. Though, I was picturing something more crippling, like actually being able to cut off or even intercept enemy communication if their radio or comm link is captured.
I love the fog of war feature that ties in with the Radioman. I've wanted to play HLL without player icons for the longest time to see what it's like and this is a great way of encouraging teamplay.

@@IronHeartGamingYT I'm just a big fan of map awareness and the lack thereof with appropriate mechanics in games, and I think this is one of the best ways to do it.
So many really high quality Vietnam War games being made right now. I'd love to see the SOGPF guys come on board with something like this - Prairie Fire deserved to be a full standalone game using the Arma engine (like the full release of DayZ was) rather than just marketed as an Arma DLC.
It looks more like squad Vietnam, where it takes very specific classes and rules to show and ping items on the map, like squad. HLL you have voice communication and the squad can see items marked on the map regardless of any communication/radio man class, adds extra difficulty. Not a bad difference though, because it seems it would encourage obviously squad play or being close together and playing as an actual squad.
Imagine being with your squad going through the jungle and one guy gets blasted by vc. Everyone hits the deck being suppressed and having a long gunfight with shouting, suppressing and flanking
Yes! About time. I can't wait. I am a history nerd who game and I especially have a strong interest in the Vietnam War being born in that era. There has been a serious vacuum in the FPS games as far as quality Vietnam content. I like Squad so hopefully I'll like this.
Rising Storm 2 Vietnam was a really good game for that setting. When Squad Leaders worked with the Commander and the Commander did their job it was amazing. The tunnel system for the VC was awesome. Also the different commander abilities.
i already see other vietnam era games but this one with that intro make me remember old gold times on Battlefield vietnam that intro have the same vibes
If this could possibly come out for console it'd be crazy. I'd assume that if it was released it'd probably do very well considering the only realistic shooter is hell let loose which is a good game on its own. But one thing I've heard over and over again is how great a modern version of hell let loose would be (and ik we have insurgency but that's more of a arcade version of realism)
I hope it has the same supression mechanic from hell let loose because actually being able to pin someone down and flank or advance is what makes HLL my go to Milsim
Squads new update does it even better. Really emulates what getting suppressed is like when they can't make players feel scared for their life. Great team/squad work encouragement
While this would be pretty fun, I’m just waiting for somebody to make a Korean War game in the vein of Hell Let Loose. It could have battles based off famous ones like Inchon and Seoul, and could have coalition armies for different battles.
I really really wish games like this would make it to console. I really want something like squad. Hell let loose is fun but I also want to get into modern conflict on the squad scale. This would be a really fun game to kind of hold console over until that happens
I love this footage and I can’t wait to play the beta but… “HLL but Vietnam” is a very very challenging proposition. WW2 has a pretty simple, mostly symmetrical balance across factions. As soon as you intro asymmetry you create problems for gameplay that are hard to smooth over. Rising Storm 2 accomplished this well, but it’s still occasionally a frustrating time when you either a) get shot by a barefoot VC hiding in a bush 3 feet away or b) get smoked by a heli almost a km away you have no chance of hitting. It’s just the nature of tactics in the war, and it’s often not conducive to fun gameplay for one side or the other. I gave up on RS2 at a certain point because sometimes you just get into an arbitrary bloodbath and it’s just exhausting, and it really earns the moniker of PTSD Simulator
Actually the asymmetrical nature of Hell Let Loose is part of what I really enjoy. Each faction should have its own play style and advantages/disadvantages. Any realistic Vietnam game will have to capture the asymmetry and make the gameplay enjoyable, challenging yes but not impossible.
The US, Germans and Soviet forces in HLL are not mirror images of each other, for example bolt actions vs semi automatic/automatic weapons. Hence there is a degree of asymmetry. You said there was no asymmetry which isn’t true.
Yes, but only if they raise enough money from the upcoming KickStarter campaign. I made another video about this: ruclips.net/video/VAo1iEZF-nw/видео.html
Anyone remember or played Eve of destruction? Bringing it way back to the Vietnam mod for battlefield 1942. Been eager for a solid Vietnam game to come out for awhile and this looks very promising. We need more Vietnam! Arma 3 and their dlc / unsung mod have done the trick so far but excited for this game to come out. Can’t wait 😎
Fuck this brings back memories of Battlefield Vietnam. This video here is pretty much how my brain remembers the BFVietnam intro. Just throw some Fortunate Son over top and it would be right there. Can't wait.
If communication and squad tactics from HLL are brought in (and not changed much) this will be AWESOME for small squad tactics. So cool! I’d love for it to force the Vietcong to play more guerrilla though and US forces to be forced into more search and destroy/patrol roles.
They better add the M42 duster. They were old Anti Aircraft Tanks that were used for their intended rolls but also as Convoy protection against aircraft or more specifically people. Armed with 2 40mm Bofer guns. Also the M50 Ontos, which was used a lot in Vietnam, was a small 2 man crew light tank that was used by the USMC and was equipped with 6 106mm Recoilless Rifles and these vehicles were used as Mobile siege equipment or tank destroyers. They were used extensively during urban fighting to provide light direct fire artillery for infantry on the ground. Having the ability to fire either each Recoilless gun one at a time or all six at once, dubbed Siege firing.
Lol, this game has been developed for like 2 years XD You're making out it's a brand new amazing game, I'm an Aussie myself and am happy to know that the video game company is based here
Looks incredible & I've certainly been waiting for a real Vietnam War gaming experience. I haven't heard personally but do they have any intentions of bringing it to console, such as HLL ??
They need convoys to supply the main bases from say a harbor or something and give the enemy the choice to cut them off from supplies and everything all the way to the main bases also could add some really cool vehicles like the Vietnam gun trucks
we really need a good vietnam game, with todays graphics this can be done, i was hoping battlefield would make a new vietnam era game since they had one a long time ago
Are there any plans for them to add the ARVN and ANZAC forces? That's honestly what made RS2 an absolute buy for me, the diversity of Southern Factions.
Learn from rising storm 2 Vietnam. That game is perfect, minus it being slightly outdated, and a horrible progression system, im still working on that damn Stetson.
That's a cool concept, only thing I see being an issue is the pack mule role. That role should honestly set upon the shoulders of the chopper crews, idea that came to mind was a forward observer role or SOG role tasked with disruption of enemy logistics or bases something set apart from the regular infantry roles kinda like what they done with the sniper role on HLL. But none the less that game looks really good.
we have it, we have WW1, two, Vietnam, and with escape Fallujah (and insurgency sandstorm) coming out, we have every tactical shooter in every modern timeline
I don't see any comments on RS2 really, which imo is a great shooter for what it's worth. I still play daily with there being dozens of full servers at all times.

I'm really interested in how their flight model is going to be. Are we going to have something more akin to squad or Arma? Personally I am hoping it's more like Armas model as it's an overall better model and would be easier for more pilots to learn and get accustomed to.
The devs say in their FAQ that they want the flight model to be semi realistic or lite-simulator.
@@IronHeartGamingYTdoes that mean there might be hotas support?
@@asherrice5289 Yes they will have HOTAS and track IR support.
ruclips.net/video/6Z6fmJXLjoI/видео.html
Really cool! I love the idea of expanding non-combat roles. One of my favourite things to do in hell let loose is supporting squad leaders with logistical supply runs.
I have been wanting a game like Squad that focuses on the importance of the Radio Man. Though, I was picturing something more crippling, like actually being able to cut off or even intercept enemy communication if their radio or comm link is captured.
Love the fog of war element. This looks good. Thanks for the vid!
I love the fog of war feature that ties in with the Radioman. I've wanted to play HLL without player icons for the longest time to see what it's like and this is a great way of encouraging teamplay.
You can already get rid of the blueberries or their names in HLL. Look in your settings!!!
@@Luckiestof13 Jeez, willickers. Gosh, why didnt I think of that? Surely it wouldnt put me at a massive disadvantage. I'm talking about a mode where nobody has them.
Looks absolutely great. Can't wait to play it!
The radioman system is awesome.
Yh I really like that. It makes that role so crucial for the proper functioning of a squad/team. Which will make them a target for the enemy. It will be important to keep your SL and radioman alive!
@@IronHeartGamingYT I'm just a big fan of map awareness and the lack thereof with appropriate mechanics in games, and I think this is one of the best ways to do it.
I recommend reading “The Thing They Carried” by Tim O’Brien
Great firsthand account of being a soldier in Vietnam
I recommend that along with The Boys of 67’ by Andrew Weiss, The Killing Zone by Frederick Downs and Guts n Gunships by Mark Garrison.
I hope it ends up something like SOG Prairie Fire for Arma 3, I've always liked the idea and the way it is executed.
I doubt it will be a sandbox editor like our dlc, but its cool to see nam in unreal 5
So many really high quality Vietnam War games being made right now. I'd love to see the SOGPF guys come on board with something like this - Prairie Fire deserved to be a full standalone game using the Arma engine (like the full release of DayZ was) rather than just marketed as an Arma DLC.
@@samwalker7567 AGREED!! needs a much better engine though.
the scale is perfect!
Yooo the Vietnam era is one of my favorite times ever I cannot wait for this this looks sooo much fun bro
Yes! About time. I can't wait. I am a history nerd who game and I especially have a strong interest in the Vietnam War being born in that era. There has been a serious vacuum in the FPS games as far as quality Vietnam content. I like Squad so hopefully I'll like this.
. I wouldn't mind HLL just creating different maps for different wars. WWI, WWII, Korean, and Vietnam. Could have a few maps for each war.
Rising Storm 2 Vietnam was a really good game for that setting. When Squad Leaders worked with the Commander and the Commander did their job it was amazing. The tunnel system for the VC was awesome. Also the different commander abilities.
Wish we could have nuked Vietnam
i already see other vietnam era games but this one with that intro make me remember old gold times on Battlefield vietnam that intro have the same vibes
Squad is a modern hell let loose
@Rahhh yeah ik but they've confirmed it's never coming to console, and I don't got a pc :(
Dismemberment. Wow that is heavy. The way they implement medic and logistics is revolutionary and compelling.
Vietnam hell let loose I can’t wait
I have been waiting for a vietnam game like this for so long now
I really really wish games like this would make it to console. I really want something like squad. Hell let loose is fun but I also want to get into modern conflict on the squad scale. This would be a really fun game to kind of hold console over until that happens
Been something ive been looking for right here!
I would like to see comparisons to RS2 because of the setting. Arma Prairie Fire is probably not a similar game.
@@IronHeartGamingYT HLL has no asymetry. That was the OPs entire point.
@@karlhungus545 "HLL has no asymmetry" - it does.
@@IronHeartGamingYT Explain? The Allies and the Germans were that unequal? Certainly not like Vietnam at all.
The US, Germans and Soviet forces in HLL are not mirror images of each other, for example bolt actions vs semi automatic/automatic weapons. Hence there is a degree of asymmetry. You said there was no asymmetry which isn’t true.
Damn I wish someone just make a game for the Korean War by now
Would be nice. I would like to play as the Frozen Chosen
Based Spanish American war
I can’t wait for this, would love to see it on console just so there’s more servers and more players
I hope its more like hell let loose than squad
We needed this
Fingers crossed for console release 🤞🏼
It all depends on how well the PC version does.
Fk console.
Having played SOG Prairie Fire. I am very interested to see what features this game will bring.
Firebase building, and logistics need to be crucial in this, it would set apart the other games quite a bit
If I can use my flight stick for this we’re chilling!!
thank god it's not a another squad mod.
I’m so pumped for this!
Is this coming to console?
Yes, but only if they raise enough money from the upcoming KickStarter campaign. I made another video about this: ruclips.net/video/VAo1iEZF-nw/видео.html
@@IronHeartGamingYT thanks
Anyone remember or played Eve of destruction? Bringing it way back to the Vietnam mod for battlefield 1942. Been eager for a solid Vietnam game to come out for awhile and this looks very promising. We need more Vietnam! Arma 3 and their dlc / unsung mod have done the trick so far but excited for this game to come out. Can’t wait 😎
Im prob old enough to remember that mod. Then Battlefield Vietnam came out… amazing game.
i hop more games like this are comming to Ps5 an xbox
HLL is fun bur the ww2 era is kind of overused
The devs say on their website that it could come to console if the game does well on PC. It just depends how popular it becomes.
@@IronHeartGamingYT I dont have a gaming PC but if the game does well and is supported, I will buy a copy just to support the devs.
It would be nice too see Vietnam in an fps been a while since we’ve seen anything in that era, Would
Like to see the Korean War Aswell !
I want Squad but Vietnam but the old squad devs not the new commie ones
Well the guys behind the Aussie faction mod for Squad are making this game.
RS2Vietnam is really starting to show its age. Pretty excited for this one
That trailer must be a homage to the Battlefield Vietnam intro: ruclips.net/video/DM-GZGtqmEw/видео.html
how so? I just watched the 2 and i dont see any homage to it?
@@cotch. Look at the shots and composition. It’s not a shot by shot remake but some of the shots are extremely similar.
Lovely video mate, well done on explaining the information 🤙
Thanks
This looks beautiful!
That stinger at 0:34, that brought me back, I need to replay Waw final fronts
Lol, this game has been developed for like 2 years XD You're making out it's a brand new amazing game, I'm an Aussie myself and am happy to know that the video game company is based here
Looks incredible & I've certainly been waiting for a real Vietnam War gaming experience. I haven't heard personally but do they have any intentions of bringing it to console, such as HLL ??
The devs have said it might come to console if it does well on PC but the at the moment the only focus is the PC version.
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning!" Apocolypse Now" vibes !!!
This looks right up my alley
Finally a game like Squad or HLL but of the Vietnam war! I have been waiting for just this🥰
Me too!
wow this looks amazing!!! Imagine VR in the world
Exactly what I've been waiting for
Would like to see the game support HOTAS flight sim hardware for flying helicopters.
They need convoys to supply the main bases from say a harbor or something and give the enemy the choice to cut them off from supplies and everything all the way to the main bases also could add some really cool vehicles like the Vietnam gun trucks
I most certainly will be playing this game.
Interesting. I'll definitely give it a look
You're never too young to have a Vietnam flashback...
we really need a good vietnam game, with todays graphics this can be done, i was hoping battlefield would make a new vietnam era game since they had one a long time ago
With the increased power of the newer consoles maybe they have a hope of experiencing these types of games in the future
Yes yes yes!!!! This is going to be amazing. 😮😊
oooo excited to play radioman!
Can't wait for competitive Burning Lands.
Are there any plans for them to add the ARVN and ANZAC forces? That's honestly what made RS2 an absolute buy for me, the diversity of Southern Factions.
Eventually yes
I need this game so bad!
Learn from rising storm 2 Vietnam. That game is perfect, minus it being slightly outdated, and a horrible progression system, im still working on that damn Stetson.
The heli looks awesome. I cant wait for some 'nam jungle clearance drops
cant wait for this to come out
need it yesterday
All i am going to hear is “Spirit in the Sky “ being played over the game chat 😂. I cant wait for this to drop!
I still play daily with there being dozens of full servers at all times.
god i wish tripwire didn’t abandon rising storm vietnam. i spent so much time flying huey’s and loach’s blasting music, screaming for the guys to get ready for a hot drop and spotting dshka turrets. god the memories
I’d love a Vietnam based war as hell let loose style, my concern is that, team 17 and partners really nailed it with HLL. Now, it’s a different developer, my question is! Can they achieve the same standards of entertainment as HLL did?
Hey Mr Nasty Blasty I think there is enough room for more than one good tactical shooter developer! Hopefully Zero Hour Interactive can nail this Vietnam game!
@@IronHeartGamingYT yes !! I will definitely buy it !! It looks really good indeed, thanks for sharing it, I wasn’t aware of this game being developed 👍
Have a god Easter weekend brother
@@MrNastyBlasty Thanks mate, have a great Easter too!
If it's anything like Battlefield Vietnam, I'll be in heaven. No gaming experience has ever beaten flying into combat in a Huey gunship blaring Jefferson Airplane over the NVA's heads.
I've been waiting for a game like this
Hopefully they actually get the north Vietnamese accent right. Rs2 was super fun but the people who can speak Vietnamese all know the Vietnamese voice actor for the NVA and NLF sounded like a Vietnamese American reading Google translate
