Well I couldn’t wait and it didn’t disappoint, as if! What a magical/surreal experience that was, beautifully filmed and narrated, I felt I was right there. It was interesting to learn about those Hippos and I’m not convinced I’d have slept as well as you did! What a happy team you had looking after you with unique picnic sites and drinks with unmatchable views! I’m not surprised you were sad at saying goodbye. I’ll definitely be rewatching that one again. Thank you, Dave!! Yes, when we went fly camping, we were the only ones there. The National Park are very careful about only granting limited permits so that the land does not become disturbed (their responsibility is to keep the nature and wildlife safe and protected). ❤ xx Tania

Back in 2011, my husband, as part of a group, climbed Kilimanjaro, my daughter and i flew out the morning he reached the top of the mountain, he was watching the sunrise, up to his knees in snow and we watched it out of the window of the plane. We joined him to do a mini safari, and on day 3 we were going to another part of a reserve we were on , suddenly this large female hippo charged out of the bush followed by her baby, if it had not been for our guide and driver Edgar's quick braking and swerving we would have been taken off the track. i have a photo of mumma and baby hippo bottoms diving into the bush. and bruising from being flung into the roof ledge as we had the roof up and i was standing up taking in the view. we promised we would be back and 2025, hubby and i are going to Kenya to safari and hopefully see some of the migration in Maisa Mara, and Amboseli. I still love hippos
