Chopin - Nocturne in B-flat minor, op. 9 no. 1

A hauntingly beautiful nocturne by Chopin. Had to do some work to bring out the melody and to direct it ‘horizontally’. I love the octaves part in the middle section. Very tricky to make the right hand octaves sound legato even with the pedal. The polyrhythms were actually fun to work out part by part. It somewhat fits together eventually. As usual, I found it a challenge to play on the piano/pianissimo side. Overall, the interpretation can be ‘less uniform’ and can have more range on the dynamics and direction.
